The Perfect Christian Woman's Book
I'm on the board of Christian Business Leaders (http://www.cblw.org) and we have an extensive library of Christian business-related books. Women, Faith and Work is one of the best books we have for women. It is written by the Life@Work company, which is highly respectable. The women interviwed for the book clearly have close relationships with Christ, their famlies and co-workers. They are excellent examples of what it means to have faith in Christ during hard times and giving Him credit in successful times. The women share their failures and successes leaving no stones unturned. I also recommend the companion book The Fourth Frontier. It really is a companion book for Christian men.

Significant Spirituality
We rarely get the chance to get close to someone who has a significant position in business or a profession. Even if we hear that she is a Christian, we often have to watch from afar to see how she works out her faith in the workplace. Lois Flowers has bridged that gap by providing ten intimate portraits of women who have meshed faith and business practice. These are honest women who let us know where they have failed and where they have struggled, but who hold out the example that our jobs can be platforms for the glory of God--even high-stakes jobs where the cross is more apt to be an offense to non-believers.

Inspirational!!
Women, Faith and Work takes you into the lives of ten remarkable women. Each one being very different from the rest. The tie that binds these women is their unfaltering faith and service to our Creator. No matter the routine of their day, each manages to have their priorities in order: God, family, then work. This book serves as an inspiration to women who struggle to meet society's expectations of the successful businesswoman, or even the successful mom. Each woman interviewed glorifies God through her work. They prove that putting our lives into the right perspective, which is God's perspective, serves as the best tool for success. Their examples make it evident that when we submit to His will for our lives, we experience our success--the success He has destined for our earthly lives. These women show us how to give God the credit for our blessings and, in that, witness to others. This book is a must-read for any woman with a desire to find the perfect plan for her life...God's plan.

Neville explains the Bible's spiritual meaning.
I study Neville's material daily and can honestly verify that he is a very outstanding teacher, mystic and Bible scholar. In this volume that is Neville's first and perhaps most mystical book, he explains the meaning of different biblical events.

The book consists of rather short chapters. Each chapter is devoted to a certain biblical theme which Neville takes into discussion. Then he will proceed to explain you the spiritual and psychological truths that the theme includes.

This book is about spiritual awakening and understanding the power of your consciousness... not so much about self-help as self-help is generally understood as get-rich quickly scheme.

If you are looking for get-rich-quick books -- this title is not for you. However, if you seek to understand the deeper meaning of the Bible - this is a book to buy.

If you think you know your Bible, I challenge you to buy this book for your perception is going to change as a result of reading this book.

Very informative.

Consciousness is God: Imagination & Belief Create Reality
According to Neville we are all Gods. Or we are creators of our own lives. It matters not what other people do or think. Consciousness is the one and only creator of circumstances. Plus we can not be affected by the consciousness of others. We are in total control of our lives at all times.

This may seem hard to believe, but if taken from a spiritual viewpoint it may be possible. On a spiritual level nothing we do can affect another soul or can affect us. We are all independent beings. Yet in this physical reality this does not seem to be the case. Here we are affected by hundreds of things. The government forces us to pay taxes, our bosses tell us what to do, or family members want us to do things we don't necessarily want to do. So if we view things from a purely physical viewpoint only we have very little power.

Yet it seems that if we live from our desired points we will in time get them on a physical level. We manifest our desires instantly via our imaginations at our source; the spiritual level. So we control how we Feel at all times. When we are making a change in our life it usually has to do with wanting to change how we feel. So by living from our desired states as Neville proposes, we can control how we feel at all times and that is very important. It just takes a certain amount of time for our imagined states to affect the lower levels of spirit, like matter. At the source, Consciousness, the changes are made instantaneously.

With this idea in mind I realized a very important point. The difference between self-esteem and God esteem. Or as long as your self-esteem is based on God then nothing you did in the past or anything anyone thinks about you matters. Because God exists only in the present moment. Time is irrelevant from the spiritual planes of reality. You are always God if your attention is there. The moment you focus on fear and lack you are out of the spiritual consciousness. This means you can always be full of love and happiness if you are focused on love and happiness. Or whatever it is you want to experience. Neville says to assume that you already have it.

For years I used to worry about what others thought about me. It's really more important what I think about myself. Not only that but what I think about myself tremendously influences what others think of me. I've done many experiments with this and proved this to principal true over and over again. It was amazing how peoples opinion of me changed when I stopped worrying about what they thought and I simply projected my own reality. According to Neville we are all constantly creating our realities and so what we believe and imagine being true is what we experience in life.

Neville claims that whatever we want simply requires us to take possession of it in our imaginations first. We must live as though we have already achieved our goal and commit to that goal. We all have a built in Genie and most of us were never told how to ask it or that we even had it.

This book also explains that the Bible is the greatest Psychological book ever written. Neville claims that the stories in the bible were not of real people but instead symbolic and meant to teach. This book is definitely not for the orthodox mind. They will rebel at how Neville interprets the bible.

This book totally empowers the individual. He claims that desires are not bad but good, that they are a gift from God. He explains many famous biblical quotes from the viewpoint of spiritual law.

Neville even has a formula for how much time you should wait to manifest your vision. He talks about the pregnancy and birth of ideas. The virgin birth of Christ through Mary was simply a symbolic story of the birth of ideas in man and the ability to create.

"Your Faith is Your Fortune," is another great book by Neville. It clarified many points for me on metaphysical principles of manifestation. There is so much more in the book than I could possibly go over in a review.

Assuming the consciousness ...
This book is so meaningful and inspirational to me that I keep it near my bedside always. Neville writes with startling clarity and conviction. There is so much consciousness raising material here it can't be described. I particularly love his teachings on: What Bibles are (12), Assuming the consciousness (136), Only slaves have masters (30), You must dwell ... (42), Nature abhors vacuums (95), and Moving from one state of consciousness to another (44).

Honest and helpful
It was nice to read the advice in this book from someone having lived it. Karla Downing is honest without being too specific about her own trials in her marriage, so that the book can be applied to a variety of situations. Short, simple, and broad spectrum. I loved her chapter re: setting boundaries. If nothing else, this book made me feel that there are others like me out there, alone and hurting, suffering and silent, embarrased and ashamed. Gave me some tools I needed to detach from the situation at hand. Would definitely recommend for anyone in a marriage marked by addiction, financial irresponsibility, and hardship. The marriage may not change, but through Christ, YOU can.

A must buy
An extraordinary enlightening honest look at many of today's marriages and the problems most people refuse to address until they become critical issues. Not only a book for women
experiencing the situation but also for men who really want to understand how women think and react to life altering events in their marriages. A down to earth manual for the Christian and non-
Christian. After you finish this book you will use it again and again as a reference manual. Vivid instruction to both men and women on how to begin a respectful dialogue and conflict resolution for many of life's tough issues. You can relate that the author has walked the walk and is just not talking the talk. Two thumbs up

Hope for Christian Women in Difficult Marriages
There is no other book that I know of that deals with these issues. It gives practical, sound, and helpful advice for women, specifically Christian women, in difficult marriages. The author talks about the problems women face and how to deal with their spouses in a loving way, yet not get walked on or become a doormat in the process. This book will help you to learn new ways to communicate better with your spouse, face your fears about your marriage, and how to take care of yourself emotionally, physically, and spiritually. I am only touching on a small portion of what this book has to offer for women in difficult marriages. If you are a woman mourning the loss of what you thought your marriage would or should be, this book is for you. The author also gives many examples throughout the book about what other women in difficult marriages have gone through and how they have overcome their marriage problems. The author talks about accountability for one's own actions and is NOT a book about male bashing. The book will help you to learn how and when to stand up for what's right around people who don't respect you. The author talks about respecting yourself so that your spouse will, too. Again, this book gives practical, common-sense-type advice on how to deal with a difficult marriage. The author writes in a direct way and get's right to the point, not flowery at all. This book will pull you out of the mud and you will no longer be stuck!

A Handy Reference
This book lives up to its subtitle, "A Practical Guide ... ." It is written in plain language and it addresses spiritual and economic well-being with balance and sensitivity.

Financial Checkup
The 25-Day Financial Makeover gives a great roadmap to anyone (male or female) who has ever wanted to get their financial house in order but didn't know where to begin. The book is written in an accessible readable style with advice on a wide range of topics, from retirement planning to estate planning. It also makes you ask yourself some key questions about how you relate to money and urges you to figure out what underlying emotional issues may be holding you back financially.

While there are plenty of personal finance books on the market, this one is really different. The financial advice is dispensed within a spiritual context but Francine Huff, the author, doesn't get preachy. She just quietly makes the point that improving one's relationship with money can enhance one's spiritual health as well. For people who are confused or conflicted about money matters, this book is a great way to clear the mental fog and learn how to be more financially responsible.

Common Cents
As the subtitle to Francine L. Huff's book says, this is a very practical guide to getting one's financial house in order. Though it is geared toward women, men can benefit from many of her extremely useful, common sense tips. With humor and a straightforward but non-judgmental style, Ms. Huff dishes out heapings of helpful advice, offering easy-to-follow and very manageable steps to financial security. And by sharing stories about her own issues with money, she makes you feel like this is someone who is not just talking hypothetically but from experience. Literally worth reading.

Great book
One of the best books for women you can buy. Deborah Gawrych is a successful seminar leader and inspirational mentor who has written this valuable guide to seven personality archetypes. She tells us what type we are, how we can work with it, and how we can handle relationships with people of other types. She teaches us about the seven major stumbling blocks. A wonderful book filled with practical information and exercises for self-discovery. Highly recommended.

Very highly recommended reading for women of all ages
It is fitting that a portion of the proceeds for Debra Gawrych's The Seven Aspects of Sisterhood: Empowering Women Through Self-Discovery go to Breast Cancer Research Expedition Inspiration ... and the Women's World Bank ..., for the purpose of The Seven Aspects of Sisterhood was written to help women help themselves to lead better, fuller lives. Gawrych shows women how to analyze their own personalities against the seven archetypal models of Warrior, Scholar, King, Priest, Server, Storyteller, and Artisan; armed with new self-knowledge, one is ready to better understand and react to the many trials that daily life has in store. The Seven Aspects Of Sisterhood teaches the reader how to discover courage, act rather than react, resolve conflict, and find one's center in a turbulent, unbalanced world. Very highly recommended reading for women of all ages, backgrounds and circumstances.

Inspirational and Timely
I found this book inspirational and timely. The point of the point is relevant in this period we face of grief and confusion and in our attempts to get past our differences. This book speaks to just that; how do we get to nonjudgment.

I especially enjoyed taking the personality test. It was eye-opening and entertaining. The part about celebrities and famous people made it easy to understand the different aspects and I found it to be very much in alignment with who I am.

Abortion Is a Woman's Right
Published in Paperback by Pathfinder Press (November, 1991)
Author: Pat Grogan
Amazon base price: $3.00
Average review score:

Satisfying answers to a debate
Excellent little collection of articles that outlines not only why abortion should be legal and accessible, but also details the history of the fight for this right in both the US and Canada. The interview with Dr. Henry Morgentaler who helped spearhead this fight in Canada is touching and exciting. He explains how he just could no longer face turning women in need away, and then, how no Roman Catholic jury could be found that would convict him of breaking the law! José Pérez' answer to an anti-choice reader convincingly establishes the framework, not of women fighting ignorant men, but of social forces battling each other over very different futures for humanity. And he even includes an answer to the "overpopulation/underpopulation" red herring.

defending abortion rights
It's 2003 and people like me still have to give up a Saturday a month (or more) to help defend an abortion clinic in the USA. We still have to act as escorts so that women can exercise their right to a safe and legal abortion without running a gauntlet of "pro-lifers" wielding ghastly posters and religious icons. I thought of that as I read the small but powerful pamphlet, "Abortion is a Women's Right"; a collection of essays on this fundamental question.
This pocket-sized booklet is filled with excellent, well-developed arguments in defense of a woman's right to choose. In addition, there is an important interview with Dr. Henry Mogentaler, a pioneer fighter in defense of abortion in Canada in the 1970s. Among other things, the doctor, a Holocaust camp survivor, was imprisoned and beaten for his outspoken commitment to abortion rights. He talks about the way things were for women in the 1950s and why we must never go back. If you are looking for a condensed reading on the topic of abortion and women's rights, you can't go wrong in this purchase.

This battle must be fought from the Core
This great pamphlet was written back during the days of the fight to win what was promised in Roe V. Wade. It is needed now more than ever. There is no shilly shallying, or equivocation, no sensitivity to those who want to throttle women, and don't give a damn about living children here. Abortion is part of the right of women to their own humanity, to control their own bodies, to live their own lives, to free themselves of the idea they are baby making machines for some man, for some God, for some government, for someone else. Restrictions on it are a recent 19th and 20th Century capitalist affliction--before the late 19th century only rich people could afford safe abortions-- aimed at producing cannon fodder, and keeping women in their place.
Read this pamphlet and realize this is not a neutral issue. This right stands as the vanguard in the fight for women's rights against the sexism that is fundamental to society. This book explains how this fight fits into the total resistance of working people to the wars, economic crisis, and growing racism and sexism that characterizes capitalism today.

Activists Speak Out: Reflections on the Pursuit of Change in America
Published in Hardcover by Palgrave Macmillan (25 May, 2001)
Authors: Marie Cieri and Claire Peeps

Great Book
> This book is an inspiration. The interviews range from funny to militant,
> the organizing strategies range from creatively loopy to brave and
> brilliant. What the reader absorbs from these wonderful and diverse
> activists is an infectious sense of commitment to improving society, and a
> sense of idealism about the potential we all have to make those changes. We
> see and feel how lives are made whole by engagement with social change.

A Must-Read for Anyone who wants to change their world
This masterful collection of intimate interviews is even more than the sum of its wonderful parts. While there are many books about activists, this is the only one that embraces activists across diverse disciplines, ranging from community arts and culture to banking and finance. After reading this book, I have come to the conclusion that interviews may be the only way to authentically capture the perspectives of visionary leaders. Marie Cieri and Claire Peeps clearly engendered an intimacy with their subjects that resulted in an outpouring of insight and honesty. As a reader, you feel that you've actually had a personal conversation with these special human beings. And perhaps the greatest gift of this book is that it humanizes these activists, focusing on the everyday choices that these leaders made in their lives, and the simple improvisational skills they demonstrated in the face of life's surprising curves. The result is that the reader is inspired to believe that he or she could actually make changes in their own world. And what better reason is there to write a book? I purchased a stack of these books for my family, frioends, and colleagues. I heartily recommend buying this book for everyone you know.

ATTENTION ARTISTS AND ACTIVISTS!
This is a great book for everyone interested in arts and activism to read because there are no easy answers or facile solutions given here. The editors respect the individual voices of the 15 artists and activists they interviewed. They don't try to tidy up the narrative and impose their own generalizations and comparisons. What they give us through these interviews are tough questions and real inconsistencies that we must try to figure out. Why are so many people indifferent to artists today? Can art help us relate across generations and build stronger communities? Can involvement in activism challenge artists to do better work? To me, this book contains the kind of information and inspiration that represents art and activism at its best.

I'm glad to read such a logically well presented book.
So many people are closed minded to the possible side effects of eating cooked and processed foods.I found the book entertaining and informative, with logical, easy to understand explanations. I just wish I could do something to help people to learn how to improve their health. I think a person's health is the most important part of life. What can you do when you're ill all of the time? This book and a few others I've read lately inspired me to change my diet signifigantly, and whenever my instructor asks me to write a paper, I usually write about a health concern that I'm interested in. It also makes me feel good that the truth is being revealed, you just have to go in pursuit of it.

Best book I ever read!
This has to be the most informative, yet easy-reading health book in existence. The author has excellent credentials and is obviously very well educated. Being sick for 23 years, this book has filled in many missing pieces to the great puzzle of my condition -- something 20-odd doctors have been absolutely no help with. If you have ANY chronic health problem or just don't feel as good as you'd like to, READ THIS BOOK! It gives you valuable information on a broad spectrum of interrelated topics and then concludes with a distinct plan of action. It kindled hope for me that I can regain my health and have a life for the first time since age 17.

Excellent source of nutritional and health information.
I am an RN with many years experience in health care, and I find this book the best source of information on nutrition and how it relates to health. The connection between what we are taking into our bodies in the way of food, ie: preservatives, processed food, refined food, and their effects on the human body are well laid out in the book. I have taken the things I have learned here and made a major difference in my once ill daughter's life because of it. I have recommended the book to several others.

My Second Favorite Book! The Bible is #1.
I was brought up a dispensationalist without knowing it but this book changed my belief. Today I have a much more optimistic outlook in regard to the plan the Lord has for the church and earth. I have been freed, no more confusion or fear of the end times. Thank the Lord! I never knew there was any other interpretation of end times things until this book. I would recommend to all christians that they look at other possible views on this before they choose. The Word even tells us " My people perish for lack of knowledge" Hosea 4:6.

While I was reading this some of the ideas were VERY strange to me but others bore witness to my spirit. With continual prayer and trusting in the Holy Spirit to help me separate the wheat from the chafe I continued. I had to read it a few times and study the Word as well. I still don't know if I agree with everything addressed in the book but what I gained in new revelation of the truth far outweighed any possible error.

I this book John Noe did not overwhelm me with terms I did not understand such as preterism, dispensationalism, postmillennial, eschatology, etc. and this helped me embrace the teaching more easily. But what really changed me was the scripture reference . The book was not the complete answer to all the questions it raised in me, but a more in depth study of the Bible finalized the change. I recommend finding this book (not real likely) or better yet go to John Noe's web site and keep watching for him to reprint this which was mentioned would happen next year. His site is at www.prophecyrefi.org.

Jesus already won the battle and has COMPLETE victory! He is seated at the throne NOW reigning and ruling in that victory! The Holy Spirit has been sent to empower us to win the Great Commission and He will not fail! It is time to rejoice in the victory and stop worrying and planning for the end destruction. We are called to think on those thing that are pure and pleasing to the Lord. We need to believe the good report in the good news of the gospel and stop walking by sight but by faith.

My Second Favorite Book! The Bible is #1.
I read this book quite a number of years ago and it changed everything I thought I knew about the end-times. It set me free, no more fear or confusion. Now I read the bible with a much better understand and I have more victory and joy in my life. I am not waiting for some future victory of Jesus, He has already won the victory at the cross! His blood was enough! I have yet to read a book that addresses the end-times as this one does. It was the use of scripture that allowed me to study this out for myself and I finally understand and agree with most of what he addresses in this book.

It was just recently I found out John Noe and I are not alone in this understanding of the end-times. And here I had thought everyone else were premillennialists. But there are a couple of groups that have similar understandings. There are preterists and the postmillennialists but he never used terms like these in his book. I am glad to be honest, labels turn me off. I just want to be Christ-like not Luther-like or Calvin-like or any one else for that matter. If you don't know what these labels mean don't worry it is not as important as understanding what the bible says about the end-times. What you think you know now could be someone else's interpretation of what the bible says and maybe you should look at a few before agreeing with one. I am glad I did.

Please bring back to print
I have not yet laid my hands on a copy of this book, although I earnestly continue to look. I am hoping that this work reappears in publish. I can comment on his most recent work 'Beyound the End Times'and will say this one is a classic! I would have to sit and ponder for a moment to remember one that I read on eschatology that surpasses this one. It is truely an incredible work. I could only look forward to getting up the next day to continue where I left off. I implore Amazon.com to put this book into their already outstanding stock of material. Go with God!

cool!
Justin came to our school today, he was really funny! I just wanted to check out his book because he talked about it, and he said the same thing, that if your friends do it for you, they will do it to you. There was some other cool stuff he talked about.

AWSOME DUDE!

I have not read the book yet, but Justin talked about it and it sounds cool. I rated the book a five, because even though i did not read it, i thought it would be good if i did!
