I read this book on the way to my last job interview. And I got the job. Now, I'm not saying that I was successful by being a bitch, but being in touch with my needs and goals was certainly a help. This humorous look at why women don't get what they need and want uses cartoons by Nicole Hollander (Sylvia) to illustrate strategies for "getting over toxic niceness" and saying what you really mean. Perhaps the world would be a nicer place if we all stopped fretting over the "B" word.

Epidemic
What is the deal with all the "b" books these days? It seems like that characteristic is viewed as a quality to be proud of now, rather than something to be ashamed of. When did being a "b" become a good thing? Must have been while I was sleeping.

I think the world would be a lot better place if people would stop using the "b" word and stop being proud of having the qualities of a "b".

I don't think so! has become my mantra.
This book was enormously funny. It is more of a humor book than a self-help book, although much of the advice could be taken seriously. I commend the idea that women should ask for what they want, and say "I don't think so" when they aren't being treated right.

I read this right after my engagement broke off. It had the immense effect of cheering me up and made me look forward to the life ahead of me.

Awesome Book
When a friend gave this book to me, I thought it was mostly just going to be a humorous book to read. I was more than pleasantly surprised. It is humorous, but it also is one great book. For anyone that struggles with being a people pleaser and doormat this is the book to read. It has some practical and relatively simple advice on how to get rid of the neon flashing doormat sign above your head. I loved it and I'm trying out some of the techniques. Being a counselor, I've read many books about this subject and I must say that I find this one to be of great value- humorous and practical all at once!!

Ho-Hum, Yet Another Angel Book
This book recounts "true" stories that have been told over and over as folk legend, but the author tries to pass them off as recent happenings. I'm afraid I don't really believe most of this book. I was disappointed, to say the least.

If you're seeking comfort & inspiration, it's all here!
I was not an angel believer until I bought this wonderful book. Reading these fascinating tales of angel encounters truly moved me. Incidentally, the book has helped me get in touch with my own loving angel!

More a biography of the authors life
The author spends too much time talking about her experiences
and her spirit guide and little on development.
more like a propaganda to her self, did not like it much
did not learn anything.

Only helpful if
you want to become a professional Medium. If you just want to learn to contact the dead for yourself, this is not the book for you.

A No Frills Account of a True Medium's Experience
This book is recommended by John Edward, perhaps the most famous psychic medium of his time. In his book, "Crossing Over," which is based on his popular television program, Edward states, "In September of 1998, I happened onto a new book by a medium I hadn't heard of before. It was called "Contacting the Spirit World," and it was a guide for people who want to develop their own abilities to connect with that world. This book knocked me out. It was written in a very straightforward, matter-of-fact, useful way." Edward continues, "I was so impressed with the book that when I finished it, I was probably like everybody else. I wanted a reading with the author."

I think that pretty much says it all. A negative review from a person with little understanding of the time and patience required for true spiritual development is one thing. This kind of approval from a person who has dedicated their life to the field, in my opinion, bears more weight. You make the call.
