Exotica, series 3 : pictorial cyclopedia of exotic plants from tropical and near-tropic regions

Incredible Book
It was approximately 25 years ago when I first encountered this book at my university library (Clemson U). I came across it one day while doing some research. At this time tropical/house plants were becoming the rage. This book, loaded with photos of specimens, showed the incredible variety of plants I was not aware of. I spent a good bit of my study time pouring over the pages and taking inventory of plants. It's worth tracking down to purchase a copy.

I need the book
I have been searching for this book for 7 years. I could only turn to the libraries and the government Parks Board for reference. So i would very much appreciate if your company could make it available in the market.
It is a brilliant book for reference especially if one is in the industry. I have not come across any books that could come close to Graf's compilation of plants. I am also very interested in his other book Tropica which is also not been made available in the market. So please could i at least order the book from this review column

The most thorough pictorial book on plants that's out.
I have the Series 3 Seventh Edition. It is the best pictorial book on identifying plants that is out and if you are so lucky to purchase one, you will be envied by your fellow gardners. They are scarce and those who have these books treasure them and do not give them up.

Mom's New Best Friend
I received this book for Christmas and I've already used it three times. My two year old son loves that he can be a "big boy" and do things all on his own (get his own snack, put his toys back in the right boxes, etc.). We're heading out today to get some more supplies today!

Terrific book for practical families!
I purchased this book when we bought our first home. I have made many of the projects to fit our home and decorating style. The projects are easy, fun, and EXTREMELY useful!! Some of the ideas I have used with my 7 and 5 year old relatives as crafts that serve a decorative and practical purpose - they love to use what they made. Even my husband likes this book!

I love this book!
I wanted to see the projects in this book before I bought it. Unfortunately, no book stores had it in stock. So I decided to buy it anyways. I'm so glad I did. It has lots of projects, how-to's and just loads of information. I think to myself, why didn't I think of that idea. It's really going to help me and my family get organized and ideas for redecorating!

Excellent Resource!
As a registered interior designer and certified Feng Shui professional, I found this book to be an interesting read. It will help designers and architects, as well as homeowners, analyze space and make informed decisions as to build or remodel. The charts are easy to follow and right on point. This book is filled with illustrations that are wonderful in demonstrating the ideas being presented. The "forward thinking" floorplans at the end of the book show that these two authors understand the diversity of how people live today and how their homes could be better designed to meet their needs.

A Must Read for Building & Remodeling
I found this book to be a "must read" if you are planning to build or remodel and it is easy to understand. My husband and I are building a home and we found this book to be a vital resource for our decision making. It helped us select the outside colors, wall colors, flooring, lighting, window coverings, as well as furniture placement. In our meeting to finalize the floor plan with the builder, his wife was so impressed with our feedback and rationale that she asked me to get her the book!

Advice that is both practical and invaluable
Of all of the books and magazines I've read on decorating and remodeling, this is the first to articulate the reasons why thoughtfully and deliberately designing our homes is not merely an indulgence in our material desires -- rather, it is essential to our very health and well-being. The book gave me the language I'd lacked to express and support my family's values through the structure of our house. But the book is not mired in theory. By applying the timeless principles of feng shui to life in the 21st century, the authors honor the needs and wants of the contemporary family by providing practical ways to enhance our day-to-day living. I particularly appreciated the contributions of the architect, which added a welcome nuts-and-bolts approach to the feng shui concepts. My husband and I are in the process of planning an addition to our house, and this book has added immeasurably to our vision. I highly recommend it to anyone interested in remodeling, redecorating or building a home for their family. Thank you, Lenore and Nancy.

I want to buy this book
Dear Professor:

Befor a few months, I read this book in MIT durring I do visit professor research,It is an excellent book. Now I came back China,I want to buy it, but I don't know how to buy it, and how to pay it. Would you please tell me for it, I will very appreciate your help.

Dr. Xueguang Qiao

Excellent introduction to fiber Bragg gratings
I knew nothing about fiber Bragg gratings before I picked up this book. Othonos and Kalli cover just about everything you would want to know about fiber Bragg gratings, from the physics of the fiber itself and how the gratings are created, to applications (including some of the more exotic ones). The material is presented in an understandable manner, with sufficient text descriptions - not just equations that you have to figure out yourself. If you're just beginning to learn about fiber Bragg gratings, I recommend this book highly.

An Excellent Book
It is an excellent book in the optical fiber communication and sensing!

A ten star book
Fantastic book for a beginer or advanced person in this craft. It has much information on all aspects of stone tools. If you only buy one book on the subject this should be the one.

From rough rock to finished points
Doctor Whittaker, currently teaching at Grinnell College in Central Iowa, is a passionate advocate of stone tool technology methods. He tries to spend each Friday afternnon working with interested students of the flintknapping craft, has a very active role in atl-atl manufacture and contests, and Lord only knows what else! But more important to me, he is a real person, not a glory-hound or scholarly intellectual snob. He is willing to share patiently with his students not just his experience and knowledge, but the tact that allows them to learn flintknapping at their own pace until they recognize their own need for his further tutelage...rare attributes for this day and mind-set. After receiving the book for a Christmas gift,Iwas fortunate enough to witness a demonstration by one of his students held at the Des Moines Lapidary Society Meeting that led me to Professor Whittaker's Friday "knap-ins". Within a few weeks I too was capable of smacking rocks together then poking at them with pieces of deer antler and producing a serviceable facsimile of a stone dart or arrow point. As I continue to observe Dr. Whittaker and several of his more proficient flintknapping guests and students, I am encouraged to keep improving my skill and knowledge, not just about stone toolmaking, but of the early peoples who mastered that and other survival skills thousands of years ago. It is also a link to the field of archaeology/anthropology that has always fascinated me.

The book was well-researched, edited to be easily understood by a larger audience than most of the pedantic, overly technical works of similar nature, and contains little nuggets of wisdom that, upon review, hold the keys to successful flintknapping. I would recommend this work to teachers, students, others of similar interests.

A complete guide to the processes of flintknapping
This book is useful in that it teaches you about modern and ancient flintknapping. It helps the reader to understand how flintknapping works and how to do it yourself. It also demonstrates how to identify lithic flakes from an archaeological deposit. A must have for flintknappers and archaeology students interested in the study of ancient lithics.

A must read for parents of multiples
This book is wonderful. In it Mrs Anderson describes her difficulties trying to have her own children, they adopted a couple of children before the quints were born. Her struggles trying not to miscarry these babies is told in a straight forward, tender yet not whinny about it kind of way. As is the rest of the book. The quints birth, and baby through kindergarten years are recounted here in a positive way. In my view, Mrs Anderson is a saint.

Super book!
This book is one of my favorites! The day-to-day living of a family with quintuplets is captivating. The pictures are precious. You will come away feeling that you know the family. It is wonderful how the Anderson quintuplets were raised as regular children. I also have wondered how the family is doing now, but have not found any information.

How are they now?
I loved this book!
The pictures are so fantastic that I can't help looking at them again and again.
I really want to know how all the Andersons are doing now; I've been searching to know avail. After reading this book, they seem very familier to me. I just envy them.
Anybody know anything?
Must read; a great book for all parents and those who love children.

A Great Tale of Good and Evil
This is an awesome story for a new writer. The tale will carry you along as you turn the pages. A group of people get a vision from a little boy, Timmy. Timmy is trapped in hell which he calls the "Forever House." He calls out to people to come and save him from his fate. His fate is their fate. His father tortures him daily, keeps him in a room which is the "Forever" place. He likes to sing a song his mother used to sing to him, "I'm a little teapot, short and stout..." Timmy couldn't save his mother and now he needs someone to save him from himself. As Timmy suffers, the strangers move in to help him. They all have other agendas however, so it gets interesting.

L.D. Williams does a good job with his characters. His atmosphere is well done. You feel as if you are there with them.

I highly recommend this book.

A great read!
I've been a horror fan for over 20 years. Instead of being a cookie cutter read, this book held my interest. It kept me guessing until the end. It is a great read, and I'd highly recommend it.

Something Different in Horror
This book takes the reader and nine strangers on a ride of pure terror. The characters in the book not only have to face thier own sins but they have to deal with a killer that is trying to stop them from accomplishing thier ulitimate goal. The characters are both likeable and hateable. The killer is not only threatening but also has human qualities. The book starts out at a fast pace and then slows down just long enough for you to catch your breath. The ending was a complete surprise. Great Book!

Geodesic Math and how to Use It
I have been researching geodesics for a while and have found this book valuable in understanding the subject, however, I would suggest downloading some of the NASA tech briefs about geodesic math (and its free) before spending this amount of money on a book. There are several online sources of info to help the novice.

Geodesic Math
The subject very well presented and in a way that is easy to understand. Gives the underlying math to be able to use our modern computers setting on our desk tops to go far beyond what one person could do 25 years ago.

Geodesic Math And How To Use It... Back In Print!
Well, the time has come for the pirates to take a hike. UC Press is reprinting this book. The information I have indicates both hard and softcover bindings...It will be available this year (2003).

Geodesic Math and How To Use It is an extremely well written book, and with the NASA papers, forms the "canon of applied geodesic math." It is a great book, well written and useful.

I love this book
Annie & Jack find out that there's a rattlesnake in a ghost town and they have to hide from some people. And they find a piano that's playing all by itself. And we don't know what ...was playing it. It's a surprise for you, because you might find out. And I might find out too, because I have it at home. I have a lot of Magic Tree House books at my house. ...

Ghost Town at Sundown
This book, by Mary Pope Osborne is 10th in an excellent series, the Magic Tree House stories. This is a wonderful antholgy for children between ages of 7 and 12. From ghosts playing the piano to rustlers stealing wild horses, this is is a great book about the wild west.So I recommend you pick this book up and start reading it as soon as you can!!!

I thought it was cool!
It was extremely awesome to go somewhere in the treehouse with Annie and Jack. All of the Magic Tree House stories are mysterious because in Ghost Town at Sundown, every night the ghost would play the piano at the bar. My favorite part was when they were riding and the herd of wild horses was after them. Something had scared the horses. I am seven and a half.
