Great book. Don' stay home without it.

After experiencing numerous home accidents a friend of mine gave me this book and what a great book it is!
It is chocked full of useful advice. Here are a few tips of my own that I've learned over the years:
1. Never bring a plugged in radio into the bath with you.
2. If a substance has a skull and crossbones on it do NOT drink or other wise ingest.
3. If you have children don't leave toxic substances in areas that they have access to.
4. Don't use a fork to get that piece of burning toast out of the toaster.
5. Don't let the kids play spaceman with plastic dry-cleaning bags.
6. Never stick your hand in the garbage disposal.
7. Asbestos is bad for you.

There are many other similar suggestions in this book that most of us would never think of.
This sage advice is too late for me. I am no longer able to leave the house because of my hideous disfigurements, iron lung and inability to control my bowels. So I would recommend you get this book NOW before the only job you will be able to get involves traveling with a circus side show.

This is a must book for every home! All areas of potential toxins are covered, and there is a huge index of resources of where to purchase healthy products, with phone numbers addresses and websites! I bought a lot of great products that I would never have known about this way, and I am very greatful for all the practical advice in the book. I never could pinpoint what was making me sick, but after reading this book, I didn't wonder "why" I had a headache after standing in a newly painted room, etc.!

I literally planned my house around the advice given in this book! On many subjects, different views are given, and you are left to weigh the pluses and minuses and decide for yourself. This book is easy to read, fascinating, and not at all preaching. The author is also not bound by any predisposition to follow any specific views (i.e. she is not completely conventional or completely alternative) and just presents the facts straightforwardly.

This was an outstanding book for all women. It deals with the myths about men, relationships, and marriages. This is a book that every man and woman must read. If you want a relationship that will succeed, this is the book to read!!!

This is book is amazing! For all of you women who wanted to know how to walk in that desire that you have to live according to God's will and purpose in your house (including husband, children, sisters, brothers, friends, church, ministry, and career), you need to read this book. I highly recommend this book for all women who want to have a life that will never ever be the same again. Charisse did an awesome job under the direction of the Holy Spirit.

Charisse's book is phenomenal. Her book has touched my life and really changed my views on marriage - she has taught me how to build my house according to God's wisdom and not wordly wisdom. I highly recommend her book to all women.

Have reviewed this bible for use in a men's bible study. Excellent tracks that are meaningful for guys in the front, with expansions throughout (a chain reference approach) so you can drill down as deep as need to.

Because it is a NLT (new living translation), somewhat obscure meanings are clearly translated into meaningful every day modern English, which guys can quickly grasp without any extra work.

If you want to study the bible, and if you're a guy, you really should consider this bible. It's laid out for simple usage, but with profound results for men.

Briscoe's daily studies are organized in topical tracks, each of which are connected to a chapter of the Bible. I spent my youth in the pew's of Briscoe's church (Elmbrook, outside of MKE) before moving to the east coast. These daily studies are like a beautiful voice from my past, urging me (with all Briscoe's humor and intelligence) to strive to be the man God wants me to be. If you enjoy Chambers or Tozer, this will be of great use to you.

Very easy to understand. I would like to find a similar version for women as gift.

As A 27yr.old Women who has had two(2)natural abortions and who has deliverd numerous"STILLBORN" babies(spritually). I must admit this book has not only changed my life, but my mind set about forgiving myself. As women in the chruch there are so many people that are afraid to share there testomoines,and because of that, there are millions of women and men across the globe that will perish form a lack of knowledege. This book not only shares an experice, but offers you away to experice the thought of "DESTINY". YOU WILL KNOW THAT THE SRIRITUAL CHILD IN YOU MUST BE BORN. I know this book will help you if you are being tormented because of a abortion, or even if you have given birth to a child or ministry, but its not fully developed yet.Get this book and Glean from the revelation for you future. Theres hope, understanding, and mostly theres away to be healed in this book. This book is a must read. Lorna Wren allowed God to use her in such a way that all women can relate in some form or fashion. Naked and not ashamed she reveals her pain, not just her pain but the pain of so many women in the house of God and out of the house of God.

I was very impressed with her book for many different reasons. Lorna addresses some very real issues that arise in the church. Pregnancy and abortions are a underground tunnel that seems to have no end. Even though she comes from a natural metaphor there are some very serious spiritual implications. I myself have aborted some spiritual babies myself and felt very dead inside. I had no one to tell me how to handle my baby or even nurture it. God has sent forth much healing through this book, and I also believe that there will be many more healings that will take place around the world. From a prophetic perspective Mrs. Wren has foreseen a coming of the next move of God in the Apostolic and Prophetic. It is imperative to be free from such horrific issues of the past and to face them upfront because if we don't face them the devil will expose them for us ( in this next move ). I'm very proud of this writing and I pray that she will come with the sequel very soon. It is very easy to read and heartfelt, I like her realness. I'm of the persuasion that God can't use anybody who refuses to be real and share with the hurting that We've been hurting to you're not alone. Even though this book would appear to be for women, I charge and urge every man that has a relationship with God to allow this book to minister to them. It will also teach us the importance of pushing our spouses into purpose and support them in what God has called them to do and not be jealous of them. I'm a man and this book touched the very core of my spirit and my being. If you haven't lost,aborted, or miscarried any natural children check out the spiritual one's. According to Mrs. Wren we're going to have to answer to God either way. I applaud her.

This is a book that I have referred to over and over again to get myself organized and stay organized. Emile Barnes uses a no nonsense approach to get you organized. Her common sense system of using a timer and giving yourself 15 minutes to stay focused on your area of attack is great. I am a working mom with two toddlers. I read this book originally when I got married 7 years ago. I read it at least once a year to reinspire myself and as a constant reference to stay motivated with a busy schedule to get organized.

This book is great. It gave a detailed chore list and told me exactly what to do to organize my cleaning. It was great help with our move, too. There is a section on almost every catagory you can imagine.

Each chapter can be read in 15 minutes, although I stayed up all night to read it... I would recommend this book to anyone who has 15 minutes to spare... If you don't have it, make it. You will have more time, I promise!!! :)

Jill Briscoe did a wonderful job with the commentary. Many topics women face today are addressed with scriptural answers. Some are single parenthood, relating to your husband, your personal relationship with God, and raising Christian children.

The translation used is the New Living Translation, which is the one I prefer to read, and study in my daily devotions. Combined with the commentary, this makes the Bible accessable to today's woman.

Jill Briscoe did a wonderful job with the topical reading tracks. She starts with the basics and builds concept upon concept, using both Old and New Testament scriptures to illustrate God's love and plan for all people. As I read through the Scriptures and Jill's devotional thoughts, I am amazed all over again with the consistent theme of redemption from Genesis to Revelation. If you've never spent much time studying the Bible, this is an excellent way to get started.

If you are concerned about the safety of your home, order this book and worry no more!

It's an easy read with illustrations and humorous stories from Mr. Lowman's personal experience.

This book is full of humorous stories that help illustrate many different hazards that can be found around most any home. It is written from a common sense perspective which is easy to understand and apply.

This book is a must have for anyone who is interested in health and safety at home.

This book reads like a devotional for the pro-life. You are not alone! The author exposes the pro-abortionists' deceptive use of language, designed to conceal the horror of their acts. Just as eugenics appealed to the "modern," and just as the Nazis appealed to the necessity for "saving" the race by "relieving" the aged and disabled of their "suffering," the pro-abortionists hide behind "liberation" and the necessity of "saving" women from the birth of "unwanted" children, denying their very humanity. With that logic, can infanticide be far behind? Euthanasia is already here. If slavery was the great crusade of the 19th Century, abortion is the great crusade of this century and the next! Thank you, James Bohan.

I highly recommend Bohan's book to anyone who wants to cut past the stale slogans and rhetoric and get to the truths which lie at the root of arguments in favor of abortion. Bohan masterfully exposes the hypocracy of such pro-abortion euphemisms as "product of conception," "termination procedure," and "reproductive health services." He then takes American society to task for abandoning the legacy of defense of the civil rights of ALL humans, a legacy handed down from such people as Albert Schweitzer and Martin Luther King, Jr, in favor of an ethic in which political and social expediency, sexual pleasure and material comfort are valued above human life. Best of all, Bohan compares America's abortion culture with the Greek legend of Atreus, whose family, generation after generation, exploited, killed and cannibalized their own children in order to further their own selfish interests. This book is sure to ruffle a few feathers, but is sure to provoke alot of thought, too.

It is a must for every christian, beginning with Pastors and so forth.

We must revisit the house that God built, and begin to lay upon it with the knowledge that all of our work will be tried!!

So build it right and it will stand.

The Christian Church of the nineties is drowning in a flood of human ideas and programs to bring "God's dreams" to pass. For an account of Lincoln's thought (as well as Douglas') that serves to the credit of both of them, read this book. One of the finest books I have ever read, there are some chapters on Lincoln's thought that you will read time and time again. My copy of the book is marked up with great quotes where Harry Jaffa shows great insight into the tension and wonder that is the democratic thought of Abraham Lincoln, quite possibly the greatest democratic leader in history. This book is a must read for anyone who wants to know about the mind of Lincoln before the Civil War.

If you want to read one book about Lincoln's thought, this is the one to read. The first part of the book, which takes Douglas seriously and states the strongest case for him, is historically dense and may be difficult for most readers. But keep going, because the payoff will be great. There follow chapters on two of Lincoln's early speeches. Jaffa's analysis here is brilliant, though perhaps a bit far-fetched. In the final part of the book, Jaffa states the case for Lincoln against Douglas. This part is rich in its ideas, rigorous in its reasoning, and eloquent to the point of being inspirational. (By the way, if you want to read one biography of Lincoln, I'd recommend the one by Lord Charnwood. Though written almost a century ago and therefore not up to date on all the details of historical scholarship, it is judicious throughout and beautifully written.)

Perhaps the most interesting thing about Jaffa is that he wrote Goldwater's famous "moderation in the defense of freedom is no virtue" speech. If you go back and read the speech (and it is on the web, of course), it echoes both the Old Testament ("our fathers") and Lincoln. I suspect he would agree with the man who told me that Lincoln is the greatest prose stylish in the English language. As for the book, Jaffa interprets the civil war as the second, and genuine, founding of the American republic, and precisely because the principle of the Declaration, equality, was written not in ink but blood (Jaffa has his own brand of Lincolnian Christianity). Lincoln, by this reading, belongs to the "tribe of the eagle and the lion" and was neither Caesar nor Brutus but possessed the best qualities of both. To understand that part of Jaffa's interpretation, you would have to read his treatment of Shakespeare. As for the Lincoln-Douglas debates, Jaffa stages Douglas as Thrasymachus and Lincoln--surprise, surprise--as Socrates.
