I actually read the book without falling asleep! WOW!
It's about this really smart 17 year old guy. He gets in trouble. Meets agirl. Thinks his moms crazy around the end of the book. Then him and his mom our very happy at the end. They have a normal life. Terrific book. I've only read 1 or maybe 2 books that i had enjoyed. But i'm glad that I liked reading it because I want to try to extend my vocabulary to it's highest point. Read it. I promise you wont fall asleep.

I actually read the whole book without falling asleep. WOW!
When I think of reading, I think sleeping, yawning and boring. They make us read every single day. Their torchering us. And they say reading is good for your mind and for your health. I think bla bla bla. Get those books away from me. Groose! Now that I'm a teenager I know I need to extend my vocabulary to it's greastest point. Or I wont get any where in life. I was in the library one day looking for a book to read. I picked up a book called danger.com. It sounded interesting. I started reading it and it was an amazing book. I loved it. The best!!!

Hot Pursuit is HOT.
I just finished reading this book and I loved it. I don't want to give the whole story away, but it is about a boy who has a whole bunch of lies told to him(even by his mother) and is wanted to work for some hackers to take over the world. You think you know the story at first, but it twists around at the end and it all adds up. This is a must read for people who like mysteries and computers.

The best of the best
This book covers the top 100 singles which means you won't find much local stuff (get bubbling under for that) but if yo want to know song titles, artists and the date of popularity this book is the bible. I have been a fan of this book since 1972 and buy each new edition.

A Must For A Mobile Disc Jockey
This book has proven to be an extremely valuable tool for me... I own a Bay Area DJ company, and while I'd love to tell you I know the name and artist of every song realeased, it's just not true. With this book, the info is at my fingertips. If a song has "charted" in the Hot 100 singles chart from '55 - '96, it's in the book. I'm anxious for the author to update the book to the present day. I seriously use this book all the time, and if you're "in to" music at all, it's great to have around. Songs are listed by name in the back of the book, or you can look songs up by the Artist(s) who released them. You can learn when it charted, how high it reached on the charts, and what an artists biggest hits have been. At the risk of being sacreligious, this book is known as the "DJ's Bible".

A Must Look
no matter what anyone says they look at the Pop charts.Cross-Over on the Big Chart was Pay dirt.i miss the old days of hearing and watching Casey Kasem's Americas Top ten.keep your feet on the ground and keep reaching for the stars.the Pop top ten is like the tabloids if you admit it or not you watch to see what's going on.everybody knows the hits.

The Mekong region, which extends south from China through Laos and Thailand to Cambodia and Vietnam, offers extraordinary food. Hot Sour Salty Sweet, which takes its name from the principal taste sensations of the region's cooking, provides an unparalleled culinary journey through this fertile land. Though the book contains a wealth of anecdotal material, its great strength lies in its 175 recipes, explicit formulas for the likes of Shrimp in Hot Lime Leaf Broth, Lao Yellow Rice and Duck, and Hui Beef Stew with Chick Peas and Anise. The breadth and substance of this authentic yet approachable collection is truly exciting; readers who cook from the book (not difficult to do once ingredients are assembled and techniques understood), as well as those searching for the best kind of armchair travel, will be delighted.

Beginning with a discussion of the Mekong region, its people (a complicated mix, among them the Kai, Akha, and Cham), and their characteristic foods, the book then provides recipes organized by ingredients, dish types, and topics such as "Everyday Dependable," "One-Dish Meals," "Kids Like It," and "Vegetarian Options." This latter style of division helps define and "domesticate" a vast array of cooking, often enjoyed at times and places foreign to Westerners. Chapters devoted to such sweets as Tapioca and Corn Pudding with Coconut Cream, grilled specialties, and fare for adventurous cooks, such as Aromatic Steamed Fish Curry (more painstaking technically, though not truly difficult) further widen the book's scope. Illustrated throughout with 150 color photos and containing a comprehensive ingredient glossary, the book is a definitive point of entry to a mostly unexplored culinary port of call. --Arthur Boehm

beautiful...just beautiful
This book with its beautiful pictures and *make-able* recipes is a great addition to any cook book collection. I liked the back ground information about the areas.. i like cookbooks that do more than list ingredients, and this one does. I have tried some of the recipes and they were really good... in this day and age its not hard to find most ingredients anymore. this cookbook is a bit more expensive than i usually like to pay but... with its color pictures it reads like a travel book! i loved it

A Bit of SE Asia in Your Home
I echo all the success people have had with this cookbook, and add that it is truly a beautiful, readable book that will transport you to SE Asia. I have traveled this area repeatedly, and this book is the ultimate travelogue: the photos are beautiful, the stories engaging, and the recipes work! A perfect coffee table cookbook, and much more.

Great text and recipes!
We own two other very good Asian cookbooks - and think this is a great cookbook - wonderful text that is fun to read on its own, and then also good recipes. The recipes are easy to follow and are accompanied with beautiful pictures that whet the appetite. We have some favorite meals from the book that we make regularly. Only caveat - we love our food hot, so we always at least triple the chile the recipes ask for.

5 Stars is not enough...
I wish I could give this book 10 stars because that's what it deserves IMHO! Nikita does it again. This very HOT Cajun read had me glued to the screen. After an eye-popping start Nikita moves on to tell a wonderful love story between two very special people. Jacque had me tingling from head to toe as he set out to win Sahara for all time. Sahara has other ideas but finds out shortly that getting out of the swamp is not an easy thing to do. Not when the sexy Jacque has her coming back for more and more and more... If you don't like hot sexy reads skip this book but if you do like HOT SEXY READS take my advice and don't miss it!! Way to go Nikita!!!

Fantasy heat.
This Cajun fantasy was so hot I was almost burnt as I turned the Pages. I was done the book in just a few hours and wanted more of it to read. Sahara and Jacque were so spicy and I loved all the intimate love bondage.

Cajun Hot is Spicy Heated & Lusty
This book left me breathing hot and feeling an insatiable wetness. I WOULD NOT recommend reading this in public... and make sure you have easy access to your lover!!! Cajun is HOT HOT HOT

Entries from a Hot Pink Notebook

Great story of teenage anxiety and coming of age
I started to read this book expecting yet another coming out story, but was pleasantly surprised to find the scope of Mr. Brown's book is not limited to a gay theme, but covers a wide spectrum of the protagonist's life. The subject of his father's alcoholism was handled with both sensitivity and realism. Parental and sibling relationships were written with the same aplomb. Having grown up in a small town, I found the reactions of family and peers to Ben's "outing" to be disturbingly authentic and the small romance that developed between Ben and Aaron is poignant with it's innocence.

The book started a little slow, but soon found, as many of the other readers reviewing this publication, that I could not put it down, and in fact would look forward to a sequel from Mr. Brown!

Loved it sooooooooooo much
I was trying to think of the highest compliment I could pay a piece of fiction, and here it is: this book is making me think about the way I live my own life -- that is, my decision to stay in the closet at work, to smile or laugh when someone says a gay "joke," etc. I had never heard of this book before stumbling across it on Amazon recently. That's a shame, because it belongs up there with "The Best Little Boy in the World" and other important coming-out stories. I wish so much that I had read this book when I was 14, I think my life would be a lot different now. I admire the fact that Todd Brown crafted a likable, human gay teenager, without falling into the trap of making him a deviant ("Mysterious Skin") or a too-beautiful-for-this-world martyr ("Dream Boy"). There aren't many novels about which I would say this, but Todd Brown: Write a sequel!!

i love this book and his story
i read this book in the german version, and it was amazing!!! I love that cute story! The life of Ben and Aaron, and their friends! Is there a way to contact Todd Brown?? There MUST be a continuation of the hot pink notebook!! The meeting of Aaron and Ben again, maybe? :o)

Romance at its Best!
Ready for Romance is a great way to keep your love life alive with your partner on many levels. Its a book you can read together and actually talk about candidly with your significant other when wanting to spice up your love life and break away from your daily routines. Each story is strait and to the point and gets the readers mind ready to think about how he/she can act a certain way or do a certain gesture to show their special someone how much they actually do care. This book also shows how geography and social status is irrelevant and that all you need is a little creativity and genuine affection. You really get a lot for your money in this book. I thank the authors for putting this out on the market!

a must for long lasting relationships
Ready For Romance is a book for all who are in a relationship, or hope to be in one . It provides tips and ideas to keep ones love, exciting, and the passion alive. This book can extend that passion with tips, ideas, and ways, possibly for a life time. A must for lovers that want to stay fresh. It opened up a whole new serries of activities and goals to keep that warm feeling alive where a couple can grow together. this book is INCREDIBLE !! the story is about a girl whose best friend is the perfect blonde petite girl who always has to take guys away from her!! whoever she dates, heather (her best friend) dates just after her, i mean, the girl doesn't even waits for her to brake up! so that's why carly makes a perfect plan to keep heather away from luke, the guy she's after, she just has to find heather the perfect guy for her... so she starts this huge caimpaign to pair up heather with someone, and after a few tries she find the perfect guy for her, jack, whose a guy who works with her as a counselor at summer school for kids. but when they start to hit it off, carly realices that she is developing a major crush on jack, and then her sister whose pregnant and at home tells her to do exactly what heather would...
well i hope i didn't give away to much about the story! i recomend this book to anyone who into a excelent love story, i mean, i have like 8 books of this serie and this one is by far, one of the best i've read!
u just can't miss it!!

It is the most simulating and animated story book.
"HOT SUMMER NIGHTS" was one of the books which had a realistic approach towards life. It revolves the topic that " ALL THAT GLITTERS IS NOT GOLD". Carly thought that Luke was the guy of her dreams. She was surprised that in the end it is Jack who steels her heart. Most of the time the heroines of the love stories are perfect with nice figures, lovely hair and lovely eyes and very few problems. The only problem thay face is that how to catch their dream guy, however Carly faces lots of problems. Diificulting in dealing with her sister, trying to control her feelings when she finds out that she loved Jack were only few. I cannot find a better book which deals with every event and character with such art.

Not Your Run-of-the-Mill Teenage Novel
One thing that struck me about "Hot Summer Nights" is that it's not the typical light and frothy young adult romance novel. Aside from the romance, it deals with teenage pregnancy and holding on to worn-out relationships and wraps everything into a witty and bittersweet package. The heroine, Carly McFarlane, is definitely a person of substance with her own set of insecurities and a lot of teenagers can relate to her. This is one of the few stories that really stuck with me after all these years, and I highly recommend it to anyone who likes young adult novels.

Keeping Cool on the Hot Seat: Dealing Effectively with the Media in Times of Crisis
Published in Paperback by Four C's Publishing Company (01 April, 2001)
Author: Judith C. Hoffman
Amazon base price: $19.95

Great advice for college administrators
Judy Hoffman's book is a great tool for PR Directors and Public Affairs Directors at colleges and universities to use to prepare or update their Crisis Communications Plans. Her book is easy to read with great tips, including her "10 C's of Good Crisis Communications." I can't imagine a better resource to utilize than this book. If I am ever faced with a tragedy on our campus, I would first turn to my Crisis Communications Plan and then re-read this book.

Pleasant and very informative reading!
Ms. Hoffman's book, "Keeping Cool on the Hot Seat", gives a comprehensive perspective on turning a negative situation into something positive. As an educator, I found this book to have great application not only in the public relations world, but for anyone who needs to proactively communicate with other persons about delicate situations. As a small business owner, my husband was able to recall numerous situations with customers when he could have functioned more effectively had he been aware of the principles and approach to the management of crises.
Ms. Hoffman writes with wit and a definite expertise on her subject. Colleges and universities should consider this text for training future business leaders, and it should be required reading for any persons who deal with the public on a regular basis.

Must Read for Communications professionals
I enjoyed reading this book a great deal. It vaidated much of what I had already learned and pointed me to new and useful techniques, ideas and resources. Not only MUST communications professionals read this book, I think it is a valuable tool for anyone who wants to understand the dynamic world of media and news reporting

Not exactly my cup of tea
Not exactly my cup of tea. I thought, hey why not, no one I know has started this series and it looks pretty good. Well that's just what it is, a pretty good series. But I'll collect it, since I have books 1-3, It has an alright story and I like the turn around in book 3. Any NORMAL manga reading girl will probably love it, though.
Don't pass it up till you read a bit of it yourself, who knows, you'll probably love it.
A good series to pick up when you have to wait for the next volumes of your beloved, favorite series. LOL

Irresistible
From it's very first few pages in Volume 1, Hot Gimmick never ceases to keep you from being fervently interested and wanting more.

The artwork, for the most part, is pretty and chic: the characters are stylish and unique looking. However, Aihara sometimes hits or misses in the panels where a character's face is turned at a 45 degree angle; in these cases, the eyes closest to the 'camera' appear unnaturally larger than is typically drawn by other "manga-ka" (comic artists) of the same field. After seeing many of these sort of panels, it can get mildly irritating.

Story-wise, it's highly engaging and even sinfully indulgent; it's reminiscent of a trashy romance novel that's so good, that you just don't care what others might say! Even though it uses some cliches of many shoujo manga series, it manages to deliver a sassy, fun story in a very refreshing way. I would highly recommend it to any manga fan who enjoys a spicy romance.

Stellar!
I have never become so addicted to a manga series in such a short period of time. Honestly. I've been reading manga for a decade, and in that time, this is the only series to draw me in so quickly. I can't properly put this into words, but I highly recommend the series to anyone, for the wonderful characters and compelling story.

Myth-O-Mania #1: Have a Hot Time, Hades!

Hesiod Meets Jon Scieszka
Kate McMullan has written a charming introduction to some of the earliest Greek myths, in a breezy style and with an unusual catch: the viewpoint is that of Hades, Zeus' older brother. While keeping largely to the substance of the canonical versions of the incidents recounted, she adds delightful modern touches and atrocious puns which make for hilarious reading aloud. It won't supplant the Gantz Early Greek Myth or Lempriere's Classical Dictionary, but if you're looking for a lively Greek myth book for younger readers which will keep older ones in stitches as well, this is the place to start. I look forward to reading the other seven titles (published and forthcoming) in the series.

Burning Hot
You ever read Greek Myths? Well this is the true story about them. True? You think. Is that supposed to mean what I've read isn't true? Precisley. Hades claims Zeus is a liar and mangled all the myths. What he claims is true is actually the same thing as Greek Myths. With a twist. Read this book and you'll agree MYTH-O-MANIA ROCKS!

Great supplement for the traditional tales!
I picked up several books in this series when I was looking for a way to make the stories of the star constellations come alive for an 8 year old. What a find! My daughter and I have taken to reading aloud McMullan's version of a story first, then examining the comparable version found in "D'Aulaire's Book of Greek Myths." She gets a big kick out of this, since McMullan's conceit is to tell the traditional story from an entirely different point of view--an alternate take on the same set of events. McMullan's narrator, Hades, calls the compilation of the traditional tales "The Big Fat Book of Greek Myths," claiming that book is the product of Zeus' megalomania and thus always makes him (and his progeny) look good. By reading the Myth-O-Mania version, the reader gets the inside scoop on what *really* happened!

McMullan's tales, in and of themselves, are inventively amusing, amplified retellings of the originals. This series is a wonderfully clever way to introduce these classic stories to younger readers. And not just younger readers; you'll finally learn your Greek mythology, too! The pronounciation guides and family trees at the back of the book are a bonus!
