Great book for novice and experienced hypnotherapists!
This book has superb information for the novice and experienced hypnotherapist as well as the lay person interested in the topic. There are topics not usually covered, such as gender differences and how to deal with them in clients. This is such an insightful and practical book. I use it as a desk reference in my office and it helps me get through any situation I may encounter in my hypnotherapy practice. All the fundamentals you need to knnow are in here to help you become a successful hypnosis practicioner.

Practical stuff that I can use
Simple to follow with lots of practical information that I can put to day-to-day use. This book is concise and to the point. It covers a lot of things overlooked in other books I have read. A great resource book for hypnotherapists and those learning.

Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy:The Power of the Subconscious Mind
This is a very interesting read. I would recommend it to anyone!
It delves into the mystery that is the mind.

Not for tots
This is a great book, especially for anyone trying to teach the real meaning of christmas. It is in the format of a child's book, but its language and subject matter (including the murder of all babies under Herod) is pretty advanced, so it's appropriate for kids who would normally read chapter books: I'd say 7+ years.

Beautiful Story
This book should be on the gift list for everyone you know! The original story was written by Henry Van Dyke (1852-1933). Susan Summers has rewritten and brought forth such gorgeous illustrations of a very special tale! No holiday season should go by without bringing this wonderful book out to read in a cozy gathering around the fireplace.

The Fourth Wise Man tells the story of Artaban who had originally planned to journey to Bethlehem with the other three wisemen to pay homage to the new King of the Jews but was delayed by his acts of kindness to others along the way. He does miss the birth of Jesus but continues a lifelong search of the King with a most wonderful journey and blissful end.

This is one of my all time favorites for any season and always brings tears to my eyes to think of the beauty of Artaban's life. Here's what Mr. Van Dyke had to say about his story:
"Who seeks for heaven alone to save his soul May keep the path, but will not reach the goal; While he who walks in love may wander far, Yet God will bring him where the blessed are."

Wow!
A wonderful addition to a family's library. Reading this book should become a family tradition right along with "Twas the Night Before Christmas"

A Thriller That Grabs the Reader and Doesn't Let Go!
A great read, The Glass Cocoon will meet your expectations and more. Jarmick and Holder have created a suspense thriller with a well-developed plot that includes a wonderful love story, intriguing Internet chat rooms, and murders that kept me guessing until solved. Excellent, too, are the many poems throughout that are a wonderful addition to a great read! Hopefully, these authors will collaborate again because I eagerly await their next thriller.

Internet Suspense-Thriller Horrifying and Romantic
I love this book.

It could easily be a true story and perhaps is for all we know.
I strongly suspect it's based on some truth.

At first the book plunges us into a horrifying, chaotic world
where people have been brutally murdered. We meet several characters and a few turn out to be the main ones in the book.

We pick up the story all over again from the beginning this time.
It's a gutsy thing when they do something like this in a movie, but I've never come across it in a book before. It could be a little confusing, it definitely throws one a little off balance,
and it's an absolute delight.

The romance, the love story that occurs in this book feels so
real and you can really understand how two people could meet
on something like the internet and fall in love without ever
meeting each other.

But there's so much more going on in both the romance and in the book. There's either a serial killer or stalker or combination of both who is killing people and the killing seems to be directed directly at either one or both of the two internet lovers Patricia and Phillip.

There is beautiful poetry in this book. It fits right into the story as well. Tells us more about the characters, lets us understand the depth and meaning of passion the way so few books do.

There is very hot sex in this book as well, so it is not one for the very timid.

I couldn't recommend this book enough for someone who wants to read something not just entertaining, not just memorable, not just exciting and suspenseful, but written extremely well
by two authors, who like the characters they created met
on the internet.

Wow.

I can't wait until the authors write another one and hope sales of this pick up so that happens sooner than later.

Exciting romantic murder mystery
They met and fell in love inside a chat room. As unlikely a couple one would expect except for that matchmaker the Internet, which sees no artificial human boundaries when it comes to pairing people. Having one divorce under his belt, Cle Elum Washington freelance photographer Phillip Craven never sought love. Taos, New Mexico bookstore owner Patricia Ridgeway is not only married, but also her spouse seems like a nice person who cares and loves Trish. Yet Trish and Phillip are in love and plan to physically share a permanent relationship.

However, someone else apparently objects to the cyberspace love match between Trish and Phillip. Besides crank calls, that individual begins to murder people associated with Trish and Phillip. His girlfriend is decapitated. Her neighbor is mutilated. Phillip rushes to New Mexico to keep Trish safe and using his forensic photography skills tries to help the police capture a vicious murderer before other people die.

THE GLASS COCOON is a thrilling romantic murder mystery starring two likable lead characters. The story line grips the audience who gains a taste of the dark side of cyberspace without needing to understand HTML. Readers will want authors Christopher J. Jarmick and Serena F. Holder to combine their skills with more police procedural-amateur sleuth tales like this entertaining novel.

Eight Spells A Week
This a great book! Sabrina Spellman breaks a mirror and thinks she will have 7 years of bad luck. But since she's a witch, she only gets 7 days. I think the 7 days were worse than 7 years. Sabrina makes the right choice for one of the spells and gets to see someone she hasn't seen for a long time. Read this book, it's one you'll never forget!

One of the best books I have ever read!
I loved Eight Spells a Week! It was wonderful. The book is compiled by bestselling Sabrina the Teenage Witch authors. It is split into 8 chapters/days. Sunday-Sunday. On Sunday, Sabrina breaks a mirror and prepares herself for a week of bad luck and 7 temptations. Monday, she loses a very important interview. Tuesday, Harvey is hanging around with some other girl whom Sabrina is envious of. Wednesday, Sabrina and Harvey (also Salem) go to France, but Harvey thinks it's a dream and does some pretty weird stuff! Thursday, Sabrina is forced to make Puzzle Babies which totally drives her crazy. Friday, she ruins the school play. Saturday, she sees into the future and sees a terrible one! Finally, Sabrina thinks her week of bad luck. But her all-time worst temptation is yet to come... I enjoyed this book a LOT. After reading this one, I'm determined to reading the whole series!

Eight Spells A Week , Sabrina The Teenage Witch #17
Eight short stories take the reader through a magic-packed, disaster-filled week in Sabrina's life. When a witch breaks a mirror it means seven days of bad luck, starting now! Just when Sabrina thinks she can handle the bad luck, her Quizmaster has picked this week to test her magic powers by sending seven temptations her way.

Millennium madness is the best!
i loved this book! The excitment about if Sabrina will get to make the new clack was intense! The twlve short stories were different, so they were really fun to read. I think even the beginning is already totally interesting, so you are automatically pulled right into the plot. GREAT BOOK!

Spellbinding!!!
I think that this is one of the better Sabrina novels. It is fairly long, which makes for a thrilling page-by-page story. After a short introduction (roughly 20 pages) you get to the different sections. What happens is that The Great Clock of the Other Realm is wearing out and it will stop at midnight! If that happens, then magic will cease to exist. While the Witches Council tries to repair the clock, Sabrina knows that she must build a new one. And so, with the help of Salem, she travels through time to the 12 most important events in history. She meets many people like Shakespeare and Queen Elizabeth. The reasons for this rating is because of how Nancy Holder puts a time limit on Sabrina's quest which make the story more exciting and for it's great plot and suspenseful mini-stories through out the book. Overall, this is a great book that should be bought by everyone!

Madness!
This was actually quite good for a Sabrina novel. I enjoy them long, and this one was long enough. It starts out when Sabrina discovers that the Great Clock in the Other Realm is going haywire and that if it breaks down at midnight on New Years Eve, witchs all around could loose their powers for good. Frantically, the witch's council tries to fix it, but Sabrina decides to build a new one instead. To do that, she has to travel to 12 magical times in history. I won't mention them all, but I really liked the part where she went back into colonial times and when she met Queen Elizabeth, even though it only lasted a page. Buy this book. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

The Anatomy of Wing Chun

Better than the typical book on this subject.
I'll give a few negatives first. The book is physically small which makes some of the photos a little difficult to look at. Don't take that to mean that there is not much information here...that could not be further from the truth. Ok...that is it...there are no more negatives.
The information in this book cannot be found in any other single book anywhere. Some of the information cannot be found at all anywhere else. This book is all about the most practical aspects of Wing Chun as a fighting system. Holder has managed, through the core principles of the Wing Chun system, to compile the most complete and polished explanation of those principles to be found anywhere. His many years of experience teaching fighters, and other teachers around the world more that shows through in the precise and detailed explanations contained in this book. If I could only purchase a single book on Wing Chun, this would be the one.

An asset to my training
I have been training in Wing Chun for several years now and I found this book a wonderful addition to my training. It really helped me understand the forms and principles of the system in a clear, simple to understand way. Anyone of any level could benefit from this book!

I loved this book and learned alot!
This book was very helpful to me as a relatively new kung fu student. It explained in details that were easy to understand the this wonderful martial arts system. I would recommend this book to anyone learning martial arts.

Big Step Up
OK, I'm not the demographic that the series is indended for, but this book finally starts moving. Where portions of the others dragged a bit, this one moves and keeps moving, building the atmosphere of tension and pressure that the characters are under. During this book, I can almost (though I never will) forgive Holly's sadistic drowning of Hecate the cat in the last release. Holly deserves to suffer. Other details that were obvious to me (though appearently not to some who've written reviews here) were more clearly spelled (ha ha) out and the world is better defined.
I have high hopes for the next book, as well as Mrs. Viguie's solo novel.
Different threads and styles of magic are explored, as is the learning of them. We also get more history of the family feuding, and the acknowledgement that not only are the Cathors not entirely good (no surprize), but the Devereaux are not entirely evil--put another way, the bad guys aren't just Strawmen villains, evil because they're evil. Dreamtime section was particularly vivid. And the Guys aren't just Wimps or Villains anymore! Even the non-magical start to DO something useful.

If the series continues like this, I'm hoping that another 4 books will be added.

-----------------------

Now people, a word about writing reviews: We don't need a summary--we can get that from the book cover. Tell us why you liked or didn't like the book. Learn to spell! An article full of typos lacks credibility. Same with netspeak/AOhelL shortcuts. "This isn't as good as my favorite series..." well DUH! If it was, it would become your favorite series. Give us a review with more substance! (OK, pot calling the kettle black, but please) Be critical in both positive and negative. Back up your argument.

now this is a great book
holly finally gets jeraud away from the supreme coven to lose him in a horrible way. the supreme coven have finally brought out their big guns to war against the tri-covenate and the ending on this is just too good to even spoil. of course you can read the prelude for spellbound but that wouold take so much joy out of reading this book. it has more action, magic, and hatred in it that you probaly won't be able to put it down. i hope that nancy holder plans to write more because this series is unbelievable.

Legacy
This was another great book in the Wicked series. It kept the story flowing and definetly left me wanting more! I can't wait for Spellbound to be released.

The best Buffy book...Ever!
This is the best Buffy book that I have ever read. And I've read them all. I was hesitant at first because this was billed as an adult Buffy book, and I was unsure if the authors could pull it off. But they did! And I am now a huge fan of Christopher Golden and Nancy Holder. They make a great writing team. I loved this whole story about the Erl King and Roland. The characters appear real and full of life, something which doesn't always survive the journey from TV to page. I give this book 5 stars and recomend it to anyone who likes Buffy, and I swear that you will not be dissapointed!

Great Book
I did a report on this book. I'm in seventh grade but I love to read Buffy books. This book was written greatly and it is my favorite book now. I was very impressed with the writing and I was so anxious to read what happened that I couldn't even put it down. I recommend this book to everybody I even lent it to my mom. My teacher was so impressed with my report that she actually asked me where she could get a copy. I have read this book four times. I loved the fairs and Roland was really cool. All you people who have read the book you probably know what I'm talking about with the King Erl. Thanx for reading my review.

Great story!
I was skeptical about reading any book based on a TV show, but this one was very well-thought out. The characters stayed true to their television depictions in a whole new and very interesting story. I recommend this for any Buffy fan.

The Watchers Guide Buffy The Vampire Slayer

One of TV's best shows now has a superb tie-in book--and this watcher's guide is even better than the one for The Simpsons. For novices, the title is a pun: Buffy, an ordinary high school girl with all the normal problems, also must spend her nights battling vampires and demons, supervised by her "Watcher," who poses as the school's librarian.

But the book serves novices and obsessive Buffy fans equally well. Each episode of the first two seasons gets a snappy yet learned summary, including a "Quote of the Week," a quick recap of each love entanglement and relationship switcheroo (and no soap opera is tanglier than Buffy), a "Pop-Culture IQ" guide (when Oz hunts for Buffy--who's been turned into a rat--that's Michael Jackson's "Ben" he's singing), countless pop-up balloons of fun facts (Buffy was turned into a rat in order to free up her schedule to host Saturday Night Live), and a catalog of "Buffy's Bag of Tricks"--her weapons, plus all the spells, chants, incantations, and previously incomprehensible rock-band lyrics on the show.

There's way more than we can list here. Not only do we get an ample sample of dialogue nearly as clever as Seinfeld's, there are scenes from the original scripts that were cut for length and cast interviews. Every single vampire, demon, witch, zombie, mummy, werewolf, shape shifter, ghost, reanimated cadaver, invisible killer, prehistoric parasite, monster puppet, and psychotic robot on Buffy's acrobatic dance card gets its due.

Get this book, then send one as a gift. Friends don't let friends miss out on Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Average review score:

Pretty interesting though a bit lightweight
I like the books by Kenneth Topping a lot more than the official guides. They are more fun, more informative, and because they aren't "official" can be fans more than authors maintaining an official relationship with the show. But having said that, this and its companion volume are both really informative. And although I knew all the quotes anyway, it was a lot of fun reading them all. The best part of the book is the interviews with people you normally don't hear as much about, like set designers and associate producers and such.

Welcome To The World Of The Slayer...
Buffy The Vampire Slayer, is one of the most well produced shows on television, and this book illustrates that belief very well. The first "Watcher's Guide takes readers along on a hip, humorous and fantastic ride through the show's initial years. Authors Christopher Golden and Nancy Holder, have made the guide, with both the longtime fan and new viewer in mind. The book features all of the information that is relevant to be able to play catch up, while at the same time, giving fans enough "new" information, to keep you reading. This book is no mere episode guide. It covers all aspects of the series, from character bois, to locales in and around Sunnydale that are central to the show, right down to the songs and artists featured in the background. The book also takes a considerable look at what goes on behind the scenes. Creator Joss Whedon, the cast, and key producer and production folk, offer many on the set details that people WILL find intersting. Ever since I started watching the show, after the first season, I knew it would become "must see" on a weekly basis. The book is a perfect companion for the series. There are 298 pages in the book, with dozens of black and white photos, (and a full color photo spread too) and script excerpts as well Recommended for fans of the series, and those who want to get in on all the fun

A great book.
This is the official show guide for "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", seasons one and two. It's awesome. It has a complete Sunnydale tour, a complete and interesting monster guide, a complete and detailed episode guide with quotes and behind the scenes info, music featured on the show the first two seasons, interviews with the cast and crew including Buffy genious Joss Whedon, plus high quality glossy cast photos to enjoy. This book has everything you need to know about "Buffy". So get this, and then get volume two, because you need these if you are a true Buffy fan. Especially if you have missed some episodes. Get this today.

My review of Scarabian Nights
I think Scarabian Nights is a pretty good book. It's basically about Aunt Vesta's gift to Sabrina, an "Ushabti," a little doll kind of thing. Sabrina wishes she could go back in time with her friend Valerie since she's bored. But she really doesn't mean to wish that. But the Ushabti really takes her back in time with Valerie and Salem, her magical talking cat. Queen Bast, the ruler there, likes Salem, and says she wants to marry him. But then Sabrina finds out the chilling secret: She sees cats turned to stone on the walls of Queen Bast's kingdom. Queen Bast had turned all the cats she was about to marry into stone! What can she do to protect Salem and get out of Queen Bast's kingdom with Valerie and back home!? I'm not going to give away the ending, but I can tell you a series of adventures happen when Sabrina tries to save Salem and get them all back home!

This book sort of drags on in the middle of the book, but except for that, this book is so interesting I couldn't put it down!

Scarabian Nights
This is one of my favorite Sabrina books! Sabrina, Salem, and Valerie go back to Ancient Egypt and the cat goddess Bast falls in love with Salem. They take away Sabrina's powers and she must find a mirror to get them back and save Salem. You should read it if you're a Sabrina fan.

GOOD
I stopped reading the Sabrina series a while ago due to the last 5 or so books not been very good, but then I decided to give it one more chance and began my 25th Sabrina book "scarabian nights". I have to say that I was very impressed, I realy liked this one and was glad to see that Valarie was involved and its not about Sabrina and her family as that has got real old. I would go as far as saying this is one of the best Sabrina books, so read it! If you like it I also recomend "showdown at the mall", "Prizoner of cabin 13" and "sabrian goes to Rome". ENJOY!
