An honest review!

I bought just about all the books in the Fast Forward seriesTeaches you many essential riffs used in heavy metal and hard rock! Also touches on soloing. At the end of the book, a whole song is constructed using a typical heavy metal progression. Great!

Travelling around the worldI was amused the way Chris and Cec decided to write this book. They probably said, "well we experienced everything together so let's write together but from our own point of view". So, this they did, each taking turns in describing events along the way and what a long way they went. I found myself experiencing what they were feeling. Chris in her own zany way, self indulgent I thought at first but I later accepted her graphic gripes as trying to help the reader feel what she was feeling and this did come out in lots of amusing anecdotes and stories and confirmed to me that this was an enjoyable but difficult journey . Cec though, a different kettle of fish. He was more rounded in his descriptions, seeming more to take it in his stride but find later that it is a mere facade and there's a lot more going on underneath. His writing is comfortable and concise and feel there's a lot more he could achieve with this medium This is a good read and feel I shall enjoy the book on the second read. They were brave to do what they did. I truly appreciate all that they achieved knowing I could not have done so. They have given me the feeling that I have been on the journey with them but without the hassle. Well done!

That 70's show ... trucking in the USADon't let the lack of color photos put you off. There are stacks of black and white pictures on 170 pages and some probably look better that way.
The preface to this book, first printed in 1977, reads " There are a lot of people who misrepresent truckers, like in songs, or in magazines, or in movies. As far as I am concerned, they're just makin' a buck on us. Your book better quote us right."
The book presents both an objective view and also captures the mood of truckers and trucking at that time. Seventies nostalgia.

A wonderful book of poetryIt is a wonderful collection of previously published poems. Four works constitute this book: Severance Pay, Scenes of Life at the Capital, The Kindness of Strangers, and Enough Said.
