I Love this book, This a very a courageous womanI love this book,it shows men how strong women really are. It was interesting to see how this woman who wanted to stand up to her parents and show them she is a mature individual. I like how Matlock take us through her struggle. You want to offer her help yourself. I like the fact that Wade who owned the whole town didn't just give her but actually helped her. I was curious at the end when they actually agreed to marry I thought they would move into his house, but when he agreed to move in with her and the girls it shows all his gentmanly quality. I like that he gave her very good advice, and he was right in the beginning that if he sold the land to this woman he would end up helping her out.

Really motivating. A great way to start the day. This book is wonderful. I usually pick a page at random everyday and then carry that angel around with me throughout the day. Each angel is perfect for each day. There is also a deck of cards which I especially love because I can carry the deck around with me and let friends and family pick angels of their own.

The Motorcycle Cafe

The Motorcycle CafeThe Motorcycle Cafe by Matthew Condon was his first published novel. The story of George, motorcycle mechanic and grandfather, is told by a number of narrators. The impressions this novel left, are of a time past, looked at through windows covered in sea salt and motorcycle grease. The style of writing is simplistic, quiet; the story, a second hand account of a man's history hidden within secret letters and within the walls of an abandoned shop. Like the facts of George's life, the narrator's identity is also partly buried. Whether or not his name is mentioned, I cannot recall, and this effect of Condon's adds to the mystery: who was the real George and can we really know him when our main narrator carries with him the secret of his own identity?

The Most Popular Interactive Mystery Play in the CountryA 40's private detective story come to life. Rick Archer, P.I., is hired to find a runaway - "A gal who has more curves than the west coast highway." His search leads him to the Cafe Noir, the only club on the forgotten island of Mustique, a place stuck in the black & white 1940's. The cafe's owner has washed up murdered and the gal he came to find was the last person seen with him alive. Now he must use his hard-boiled detective talents to find the real killer. Was it the French Madame and manager of the club, the voodoo priestess, the shyster British attorney, the black marketeer, or the femme fatale herself? The audience is asked on two occasions to vote on what they want Rick to do next.
"Murder at Cafe Noir" was written by award winning playwright David Landau, credited with inventing the now popyular interactive mystery concept. An excellent book about a young writer.Continuing the 'Tarragon Island' series, Nikki Tate again writes about Heather Blake's life as a young writer on British Columbia's Gulf Islands. Nikki Tate especially handles emotions and characters well. These features make her books fun to read and very realistic. I can't wait to see what's next in this great series, which I love especially for I love writing as well and can relate to a lot of feelings with writing.

Paris for everyone!I was at a rummage sale last year and noticed someone was selling a bunch of guide books. I saw Fodor's Paris 99 and could not believe they were practically giving it away. I could not stop looking at it when I came home. It is such a complete book on Paris. The beginning covers all your basic info on how to get there and what to take. The rest is filled with good maps. It considers people of all budgets with it's hotel and restaurant listings going from low to expensive. It even has some helpful phrases in the back. I will definitely use it on my trip to Paris.

Raiz de Flor y Cafe ReviewThis book is a wonderful mix of spanish and african culture defined as 'Cubano-Africano' folklore. It gives true meaning to being african in a small carribbean island founded by Europeans. The images are alive and beautifully written. A great book to read with good company, a roaring fire and a fine glass of wine.

The best recipes I've EVER encountered!!!Recipes From the Moon is full of positively mouth-watering, healthful dishes. They are easy and quick to prepare and taste like they came from a gourmet restaurant, only with less fat, sodium, and cholestrol. Whereas the original Horn of the Moon Cookbook is loaded with recipes calling for butter, cheese, cream, and eggs, Recipes From the Moon holds back on these ingredients, substituting healthful alternatives without sacrificing taste. Recipes From the Moon is like a breath of fresh air. Now I not only enjoy cooking and eating, but I can feel confident that I'm not filling my body up with artery-clogging, blood pressure-raising food products. If you want to prepare healthful dishes without losing the taste, try Recipes From the Moon. If you're ever in Montpelier, VT, go to the Horn of the Moon Cafe, the very spot where these mouth-watering dishes were invented!!!

mathematics in verseIt is part of the romance of mathematics that mathematicians
can work anywhere, can flaunt their eccentricities, and yet create
a universe of definitions, axioms, and theorems often with far-reaching
applications.
So it was with the mathematicians -- Banach, Ulam, Saks, Mazur, and others
-- of the Scottish Cafe in Lvov.
They did great mathematics in the evenings
over pastries and coffee, wrote problems
on the left side of a book's page and solutions on the right.
When the Second World War swept over their
city, many were murdered, but the book survived,
hidden near a soccer goal post.
Case captures the spirit of the time and
these personalities, making the book a delightful read.
