As good a soceress as you're likely to meet.
I can't state what the efficacy of these spells would be, not having read the book. However, having once known Ms. Rosean and having had my Tarot read by her I can certainly attest to her fortunetelling abilities. She is the only one who ever gave me a concrete and accurate prediction (to be specific she stated that, within three months, I would move and get laid -- both happened).

Excellent Find!
As always Lexa provides a great book for her readers. The book is informative and has such a variety of spells that your sure to find anything you need. I loved it!

One Of The Most Useful Love Spell Books
This book was not only useful and helpful, it was an enjoyment to read. Lexa wrote a little bit about every spell and how she made it. She also explains more about the magickal properties of each ingredient which in the end makes you knowledgeable. It makes you feel more familar with the spells and more comfortable to cast them. Definatly a good buy.

Spellbinding
Okay, so the story isn't really about witches as I had first thought, but it is full of other majic that just takes your breath away when combined masterfully with different characters and mini- adventures. I definitely recommend this book to lovers of the mysterious ways of magic.

Characters are novel, have depth and the plot wisks you up!
The Hex Witch of Seldom is one of a handful of books that is my absolute favorite. The sparse family of the heroine and the created mystical family combined to form a story with emotional depth and continued to involve the reader in an ever evolving and exciting plot.

An EXCELLENT book
The book is about a young girl named Bobby who's father had passed away, mother placed in a mental institution and is to live with her grandfather who raises horses. She goes to get her own mustang on her 16th birthday and everything excells from there. This is one of the best books I have ever read. I had my father hunt it down and buy it for me.

HEX
Published in Paperback by Pocket Books (01 April, 1989)
Author: Stern
Amazon base price: $3.95
Used price: $0.79

Stern's Hex is the 8th wonder of the world.
After reading Steven Stern's Hex I'm anticipating the publishing of his next novel. Hex is the best written novel I have read since 1952. Rock on Mr. Stern.

A Masterpiece!!!!
Steven King pales beside this book. The only thing that kep this rivoting suspense novel from being a hit was a lack of commitment by the publisher.

Jonah Hex: Two Gun Mojo
Published in Paperback by DC Comics (October, 1994)
Authors: Joe R. Lansdale, Timothy Truman, and Sam Glanzman
Amazon base price: $12.95
Used price: $9.99
East Texan Joe Lansdale didn't start out as a writer of comics, but he had always admired two DC characters, Jonah Hex and Batman, for their quality of being "dark knights." Jonah Hex is no sleek crusader, though: He's ugly, bizarre, and "just damn ornery." This bound mini-series of five comic books is about a man of the old South in a splatter-western world--a world of weird horror and macabre humor. With wicked full-color art by Timothy Truman and Sam Glanzman.
Average review score:

The First (and best) of the Weird Westerns
This is a prime example of why comics should be getting more respect. Landsdale and Truman recreate the badass character of Jonah Hex and pit him against a supernatural (?) menace. The art is gritty and real, the dialogue is crisp and clear as a desert sunrise. My favorite line? " That's Jonah Hex his own damn self. He's killed more men than hell has souls. " The fact that this series hasn't been optioned as a film is a crime. I have heard that Hex was recently on an episode of Batman: The Animated Series. If anyone could do this series justice, it'd be them. If you like westerns with an edge, this is for you. If you're a horror fan wanting a creepy story, this is for you. Check it out. It won't dissapoint.

Hex holds you in its spell
This book is probably one of the best comics in recent history. Lansdale and Truman's styles mesh into a cohesive package of grit and laughs, breathing new life into the once-thought-dead genre of the western comic. I knew that I had to buy it after the first page. Lansdale's strong narrative voice grabs the reader by the neck and and holds him there until the final panel. Be sure to pick up the 5 issue miniseries that follows, Riders of the Worm and Such, as well...

Hucksters & Hexes
Hucksters and Hexes is a practical hex-slingin' guide that no posse, marshal, and certainly huckster, should ever be without. The rules are simple, the descriptions are clear, and the hexes are numerous and varied. If you are a Deadlands player or marshal and you still don't have this book, buy it! I've been playing Deadlands for years, mostly as a Huckster, and this is the one book (besides the Player's Guide, of course) that I simply couldn't play without.

Four out of five isn't bad
I read all three books in the trilogy over a year ago and have recently come to pick them up again. The best feature of the book is the idea, I love reading sci-fi books that don't actually feel sci-fi - the books that I enjoy explaining the plot to friends and family. The reason I didn't give the book five stars was because there wasn't enough romance, and there is always room for romance - where are we without it? Also I would have loved to have more information about the way of life that far ahead into the future, on a more day to day level. The last reason is because i didn't like Raven, although i know why she was cold and heartless I think hope goes a long way but i never felt she would change - it is definitely a first for me to love a book and not love the main character. Despite this the book left me wanting to find out more so it definitely earned four stars.

I read it in one sitting.
I don't usually read Sci-fi but we were on holiday and this was the only book in the store that looked like it was worth anything. I found this book to be really good.

It's the story of Ravan a fifteen year old hex who has a strong talent for using her special abilites. She is distant and doesn't relate well to humans, but she is completely confident all the same. Her kind has been hunted by the CPS for centuries, their power to control computors with their mind makes them to dangerous to live. Most had been caught and exteminated but they never caught Raven. She had ensured that they do not even know of her existance. In fact only her brothe reallly knows. Wraith, a kind man who wants to help people. Together they search for Rachel, their young sister who may have been a hex. But they find out something that the government had kept hidden for years. A secret that will warp every hexe's life. With Ali,a frightened clumsy hex from the topmost society of England dragged out of her perfect life into one of total chaos, and Kez, a boy from the slums, they start the fight against the CPS.

This is the first book in the trilogy, I have read the other two since they are allready out in England. I strongly hope you will read them as well.

A TOTALLY AWESOME BOOK!!!
Hex is an amazing sci-fi trilogy that will keep you enthralled from the very first page. In the late 21st century, scientists created the Hex gene to improve human knowledge of computers. The project was later abandoned, but mutants with the gene, known as Hexes, continued to be sought out and exterminated.
Years later, Raven, a Hex and possibly the most dangerous teenager in the world, along with her brother, Wraith, travel to London in search of their younger sister, Rachel. There they meet Kez, a streetrat, and Ali, a popular and rich girl who has just discovered that she is a Hex. Soon the group becomes engaged in a dangerous mission that could cost them their lives.
Containing interesting characters with distinct personalities, excellent descriptions, and an imaginative portrayal of the future, Hex is one of the best science fiction books you'll come by and the fitting start to a great series.

Cute Book
This book os cute. I love the small size and it's a perfct gift for a girlfriend whoes feeling one of life's little downers. Witch or not.

HEXES FOR WOMEN
I FOUND THIS TO BE AN EASY BOOK TO UNDERSTAND FOR ADVANCED PEOPLE OR BEGINNERS LIKE ME. HOWEVER, I WISH THERE WOULD BE SOME MORE COMMON SPELLS WE COULD USE ON AN EVERYDAY BASIS, ALTHOUGH THERE ARE A FEW THAT I COULD USE DAILY. I THINK ITS A GOOD BOOK TO PUT IN YOUR "SPELL" AND "WITCHCRAFT" COLLECTION.

Cool little book (men will like it too)
I am a man and I book this book. I picked up this little book and it made me laugh. It speaks to all the big and small irritations in life that we wish we had a magic spell to defeat. The spell to put on people who talk in movie theaters was a favorite of mine. I recently recommended the book to a woman who is trying to let go of a guy she was dating. I'm not sure if there is an exact spell for that -- but surely looking through this book surely will inspire her to create a spell of her own. dwight_o@hotmail.com

Hex : A Ruby Murphy Mystery

A Great Summer Read
A chance meeting in a subway launches Ruby Murphy into the behind-the-scenes world of horse racing as she investigates a wandering boyfriend for a mysterious blond. Ruby is a likeable character and she wanders a part of New York City not often depicted in fiction. In between her adventures, she takes yoga and piano lessons and neglects her real job at a Coney Island museum near her home. The story is told in several different voices, a technique that adds richness to the story. I hope there are more books starring Ruby Murphy.

No Rhesus Sardonicus
A lively foray into the life of the stubborn and irrepresible Ruby Murphy. Her peculiar outlook on this bittersweet dumbshow, her wide-armed acceptance of all that is mean-spirited and foul is inspirational. I will gambol with Ms Estep's maniacs anytime.

Fresh life for the mystery genre!
There's plenty of things about this book that set it apart from other works in the mystery genre, but if I had to sum it up into one thing it would be this: humanity. Ruby Murphy is endearingly, refreshingly HUMAN, as are the rest of the cast of this story, and we're allowed to get more than one perspective of what is going on, thanks to the creative use of different narrators, all of whom are wonderfully - and believably - eccentric. Maggie Estep breathes fresh life into the genre and leaves me wishing that some of her characters lived in my neighborhood, which is not something I can say for any other mystery I've read. Usually in a mystery you can't wait to get to the end to find out what happens, and while this one is definitely a page-turner, I was so in love with the characters and the world they inhabit, I didn't want it to end. The prose is direct yet very poetic and vivid. This book is a breath of fresh air - and an especially tasty read for horse lovers, as the author lovingly illustrates via Joe the racehorse what makes these graceful creatures so appealing. I'm eagerly awaiting the next book in the series.
