Great Book
Of the 65 origami books I own, this is one of my favorites. It's simple and clear with wonderful color photographs. I love the clothes models at the start and the instructions for origami jewelry at the end. I wish it were still in print.

Most attractive and interesting book on origami I have seen
This book will hold your interest and get you intrigued with origami even if you have never tried it before. Instructions are easy to follow and the results will have you looking for more paper to fold. My copy mysteriously disappeared and I have been trying to replace it. Would like to hear from anyone with any leads.

excellent book for beginners and experienced folders
This book exposes the reader to the wonderful range of origami. It's clear directions and diagrams are among the best I've seen. I have been trying to locate other copies of this book to give as gifts to friends who I think might be interested in origami but may be intimidated by other books with complicated instructions.

Paper Creations: Easy-To-Make Paperfolding Projects
Published in Hardcover by Metro Books (October, 1997)
Authors: Gay Merrill Gross, Ellen Silverman, and Nancy Palubniak
Amazon base price: $12.98
Buy one from zShops for: $15.00
Attractively designed and filled with sharp color photos and numerous, excellent diagrams, Paper Creations offers step-by-step instructions for 40 fun and diverse origami projects. Unique among paper crafts, origami traditionally requires no cutting, gluing, painting, or other embellishment of the paper--all the magic is accomplished purely by folding and manipulating the paper. Each project here is rated by difficulty (from very easy to challenging), so everyone from beginners to experienced origami practitioners can find a suitable project, from boxes and other containers to ornaments and jewelry to flowers and animals (the koala and the howling dog are especially appealing). Those new to the art form will appreciate the thorough beginning section explaining all the basic folds and the symbols used to represent them. The final section discusses various types of paper and some special techniques. In a medium where directions can be needlessly complex and difficult to follow, this book makes success seem surprisingly easy. --Amy Handy

Wondeful, lots of interesting & unqiue projects
This is a wonderful origami book with lots of interesting & unique projects. It is in full-color on glossy stock. The clear, step-by-step instructions are both illustrated & explained.

The first section covers basic origami symbols, folds & bases as well as folding hints & tips. The projects start out easy and become more complex as the book progresses. I recommend this book for beginning to advanced folders.

Some projects include a gyroscope, lucky star, jack-in-the-box, bowl, purse & a box with dividers & a cover. Others include a sparrow, koala, dog, kissing penguins, flowers, a corsage & a chain of cranes.

The last section covers hanging or making your origami artwork into jewelry. Paper painting & selection as well as wet folding are also covered. A resource guide listing stores & origami societies is a great bonus.

caution-same as earlier book "Origami Workshop"
I loved the author's book entitled "Origami Workshop" so was thrilled when I read about her latest book "Paper Creations". Well, unfortunately, I never saw the actual book since I ordered it by mail. It is about 90% identical (even used the same photos) as her "Origami Workshop", published in 1995. To give her justice, the first page of the book does say that much was taken from the earlier published "Origami Workshop". Still I think it is a rip-off and misleading to publish the almost identical book with just a different cover and title.

Beautifully produced book
One of the most beautifully produced English language edition books on the art of Origami. This "coffee table" size book features easy to follow (yet detailed) instructional text along with illustrations, photos and diagrams. Several traditional and unique designs are presented. Truly a wonderful instructional book. (the book is now out of print and has become quite a sought after item among serious enthusiasts of Origami design).

T. Scott Gross was running a chicken franchise in Texas when he realized that performing outlandish stunts for (and with) customers was a terrific way to boost business. Gross eventually fashioned his somewhat unconventional ideas into a program he dubbed Positively Outrageous Service, and he began teaching it full-time. Outrageous: Unforgettable Service ... Guilt-Free Selling, his written version of this plan, describes the philosophy that already has been adopted by hundreds of companies including Southwestern Airlines and Doubletree Hotels. Inspirational as well as informative, it outlines dozens of viable concepts bolstered by anecdotes that show how they're being effectively used today. --Howard Rothman

A must-have in every business owner's toolkit
If more people read and implemented outstanding service, then we wouldn't be having all those 'siteAsucks.com' and 'siteBsucks.com' web sites.

This book targets the lifeline of any business - your customers -and talks about common sense - how to make them happy - so that they not only come back, but they also tell others!

The concept is very simple. But this is probably the only book I have ever found about delivering "outrageous" service.

I have myself implemented (long before reading this book, of course :-) what I call as "Not Technical Support - But FANATIC'nical Support" on my own site at WebmasterInABox.net

So, it was exciting to see an entire book dedicated to this topic. And in spite of knowing what brilliant customer service is, I had managed to brainstorm about 200 different ideas to provide "outrageous" service, before I had delved even 20 pages into the book.

A great buy. On my top 10 list.
