Pure Liberal Lies And Hatred
This is a hate-filled book written by a closed-minded liberal who has only one goal, which is to attack, attack, attack.... It's the same thing we've seen numerous times, which is: If you have no message of your own, make personal attacks on your opponents. It's Carvillian in that it makes no attempt whatsoever to be engaging on the issues, instead spending it's time spewing the author's personal hatred of our current President.

Save your money, I read it, and I my time would have been better spent hitting my head against a wall repeatedly. Pure garbage.

Mr. Dan Culton
I didn't buy this book and thank goodness I didn't. It has no redeeming value whatsoever. It is not thought provoking, informative, or entertaining. Don't waste your time and money on this turkey. It's not even worth the current price of eithty-eight cents.

Barney Goes to the Farm (Go to Series , Vol 1)

Not Recommended
Although this book does portray chores associated with farming accurately, this Barney book has the worst photography I have seen. Apparently some of the photos were taken very late in the day, by the length of the shadows, which makes the pictures light-deprived. Also, many of the photos are simply extremely dark, even those inside the barn, losing details to muddiness - certainly not a child-friendly picture book.

Factually, the "cow" pictured is really a heifer, and not capable of being milked.

I also think value of the phrase "Aye yie yie!" used by BJ two times is questionable; why not easily read phrases like "Wow", "Gosh", "Golly", "My Goodness", or "Jeepers"?

There are many good books for preschoolers about life on a farm - this is not one of them.

What is the message?
In this book, Clifford teaches children about playing dead, Emily teaches children how to leave their dog and forget about them and the author shows that drivers are inattentive because they are too busy talking on their cell phones. Great bedtime reading!?!

Maybe the EDITORS Should Go to School
My 21-month-old son enjoys this cute book immensely, but it contains a serious error. The book states that Corduroy makes "a big blue 'B,' and a big green 'C,' but the illustration shows a red (rather than blue) B and a purple (rather than green) C. That is an unforgivable mistake for a book that should be helping children learn to identify colors.

Richard Hooker... SURE he wrote it.
After "MASH" & "MASH Goes to Maine," Richard Hooker "took on a collaborator", William E. Butterworth, for a series of "MASH Goes to..." books.

The first two MASH books are basically collections of short stories with a very loose structure. The Butterworth books are sitcom novels... and not very good ones.

After the Butterworth series was played out, Hooker released "MASH Mania," which was a loosely structured series of short stories about the Swampmen in middle-age -- a rock-ribbed Republican middle-age, in fact, amazing though that may be to fans of the TV series, which Hooker hated. Although this book has politics opposite to my own, it's still funny and more importantly, Hooker WROTE IT.

From the completely different writing styles involved, I'd say that if Hooker ever even SAW what Butterworth wrote, it was to say, "Yeah, ok. I'll approve that."

I like Hooker's writing; so I felt rather manipulated by the Butterworth MASH books, which to my mind are Hooker's in name only.

Miffy Goes Outside: A Puzzleboard Book
Published in Hardcover by Kodansha International (October, 1997)
Author: Dick Bruna
Amazon base price: $5.95

love Miffy, but not this book
My 2 year old and I adore Miffy, but this book was disappointing for 2 reasons. It is not as clever or as well composed as other Miffy books and it is downright flimsy. The puzzle pieces are hard to get out and hard to put back in. It is not made of the thick, sturdy material that a puzzle book should require. We recommend instead any of the regular Miffy story books (our favorite so far is, "Miffy in Hospital") or, "Miffy's Counting Book".

Vicious Gossip Sanctioned by the Royals
If you like sitting down to dishy, vicious gossip, this book's for you. Lady Colin Campbell may be an insider but she's not an impartial one. That she's still in the Royals's camp tells me she's carrying a message for them. Although she makes a gratuitous stab at saying derogatory things about the Queen Mother, her real target is Diana, Princess of Wales, of whom she has a positively sulfurous view.

Unfortunately, her credibility suffers when she paints Diana as completely without redeeming qualities, and the public as fools for not seeing through Diana's act. Like the Royals, whose minion she is, Lady Campbell is unable to accept that Diana could not sustain an "act" for so long if she were truly a phony.

Lady Campbell further injures her case with her claim that Prince Charles is the innocent party. Even for a man who's lived his life in a royal cocoon, he can't be as naive as Lady Campbell paints him without making him seem stupid, and no divorce is so completely one-sided when there's blame to be assigned.

Originally British society put these Hanoverian misfits on the throne to preserve the Church of England and Protestantism. Now that religious warfare is no longer a reason for keeping the Mountbatten-Windsor dynasty, maybe it's time the British allowed them to get a life--to rise or fall according to their individual merits just like us common folks. But then, we wouldn't be treated to such an entertaining soap opera, would we?

Do they have Parental Advisory stickers for books?
Unacceptable childhood reading. After a few days of reading this book I found that the plot line was extremely inappropriate and my son, Joshua, is scared out of his footy pajamas. Now call me crazy, but books by Sherry Miller have not always been explicit. That was until she recently joined the Authors Against Sanity Club of America. Now please make every effort towards stopping the production of Sherry Miller books before it suffocates our society. Bye Bye Friends, and God Speed Sherry!

Stop! Don't do it!
There is a good reason this book is out of print. Its best use is in writing classes as an example of what not to do. If you want to use it -- or any of the other titles by J.T. Edson -- for that purpose, you can get them at a thrift store after they've been toosed out by whoever bought them. Save your book money and reading time for the thousands of *good* Westerns, from the genre icons Louis L'Amour and Zane Grey, or the new stars like Cotton Smith, Ralph Cotton, Alan Lemay.
