The book has a set of well-written essays that cover a range of topics. The essays also have good bibliographies. The book is dated 1995, but still seems completely relevant -- I just hope they do a year 2000 version. Highly recommended for people thinking about, or designing products, that are intended to increase student learning.

This is a must book for anyone who thinks that our economic system and civilization can be improved and is looking for the way to accomplish this. This is a very thoughtful book that suggests that we create our economies. We need not be slaves to "the system." The authors challenge the philosophical basis for ideas popular today.

I bought this book when my son was 6 months old. From the first reading, it's been one of his favorites. We started just pointing and naming objects: flowers, ball, house, etc. More than a year later, we're still reading it, but now we're counting the flowers, describing the ball's shape or the house's color, etc. It's proved to be versatile. The simple, yet pleasing, pictures of Spot splashing in the garden, in rain puddles, at the beach and in the bathtub are perfect for babies and toddlers. One caution: once my son learned to splash in the tub, we had to start explaining that we don't splash water all over the bathroom! I'd definitely buy it again.

My son loves Spot and this is one of his favorite Spot books. There are balloons and animals in costumes, which make him giggle.

The Short Stirling and its role in the '41-'45 bomber offensive is often forgotten. The creation and exploits of this impressive aircraft are descibed in a pleasant manner. A great amount of interesting illustrations is included. Quotes from crew members take you back to the excitement and terror of the missions flown far into occupied Europe. The only item which is somewhat left out is exactly how the mounting casualties forced the plane out of the front line. All in all, a worthy book for any aviation enthousiast! This true-to-life story shows Sunny, a sock-obsessed Golden Retriever puppy, go through the generally accepted steps in basic dog obedience school and become a well-trained, loving and loved family member. In school his young handler realizes that she is also a student and even has to do homework with Sunny. The dog school scenes are realistic. The author also follows the humorous in-class antics of a not quite so successful participant. Internationally famous cake decorator (yes, cake decorator) LaVona Keskey does the illustrations, and she is good! Even the non-star characters look like their breeds and show facial expression and personality in Keskey's renderings. A chapter at the end of the book outlines in detail the steps involved in basic obedience. This is a dog school book that is fun to read.

It seems that this book has cut out all the fluff some of those 500 page books have. It also seems to focus on people that would like to get into I.T. and not those of us already in. Although I must admit I loved it and laughed at many sections because of it's truthfulness. Great book, I recommend it!

This one, like "The Truth About Taffy Sinclair", isfrom Taffy's point of view. Finally, after her little parts in TVshows and commericals, Taffy is off to Hollywood to play the main role in a TV movie. There she must deal with the snooty Paige Kramer who wants her part and try to figure out whether one of her co-stars, the teen idol Raven Blaine, likes her or not. Plus, she's worried that her best friend back home is going out with her boyfriend! This is a good book with a lot of plot twists!!

This book is very complete. Its has a good begining a very good body and a good ending.

Rogers' exuberant art is the perfect accompaniment to this original tale that highlights weather lore based on scientific fact and begs to be read aloud in a down-home accent. Bravo!
