Great book for beginning readers
"Morris the Moose Goes to School" is a fun story that kids enjoy reading and listening to. I remembered reading and loving the book from when I was a child, so I bought the book for my own children. It has been a great book to use in teaching them how to read, because it holds their interest, they want to read it because it is funny. "

Morris- Great Children's Book
This is an excellent book for children to read. Before I started Kindergarten 15 yrs. ago(I'm 20 now), my sister taught me to read this book. She was 7 yrs old and thus was attending school and I wanted to learn to read. This book, taught me a little about ABC's, counting, and what it was like to attend school...except for the moose being there of course! I remember Morris trying to hide but his antlers kept sticking out.LOL! When I finally started Kindergarten, myself and a fellow classmate Becky were the only two students capable of reading large words and regular books. I believe that this was because of the foundation layed out by this book... it made reading fun.I recommend this book and would actually like to get my hands on it if I could!

Great Moose book
Morris the moose goes to school is a great book. At first Morris does not know what the teacher is talking about because he never went to school. But then he goes to school and learns how to read and count. He isn't very smart at the first part of the book, but by the end of the book he is much smarter. He loves going to school! Morris learns a lot and YOU will LEARN alot too. I take this book in the car when we go places. I like this book because I can read it by myself. YOU will LEARN alot about Morris if you choose this book.

Some of the most astonishing news to date revealed
I have no idea exactly where the concept of the Hollow Earth was revealed to me. As I have been told time and time again, "There are no Accidents" and whenever you are ready to receive information, you will do so. This I feel true with learning of the Hollow Earth Phenomena.

Dianne Robbins has written a very powerful body of knowledge, written from a sphere of love. I Do feel strongly connected with the Lemurians, and know without doubt that the information revealed in this work is truth. The tone and content is coming from a very loving energy, one of empowerment and encouragement.

I do believe that as we progress here during the next 8 years, until the 2012 Mayan Calendar date, much more will be revealed to us. We all have the opportunity to ready ourselves in order to mingle and share ourselves spiritually with our brothers and sisters of the subterranean cities. I am thankful to have this opportunity. I would recommend this book to anyone who is open to the information here, regardless of how fantastic it may seem. As someone else predicted about this book, I, too believe it will become a classic in its own right. Thank you again Dianne. Much Love and Light.

AN UPLIFTING REVELATION OF LOVE
The message is clear: Earth is going through change.

This book Channeled by Robbins presents one of the most outstanding revelations for mankind at the present time; and shockingly this time from Earth's interior. The book is crucial especially now at these challenging years before 2012.

The details from this unusual work astonished and surprised me: that there are millions down there, in Telos and in the Inner Earth, that they have a central sun, a rich, healthy glorious fauna and flora complete with oceans and mountains still in their pristine state.

I am familiar with the story of Shamballa and knew that something peculiar was going on within Mount Shasta but there was no straightforward message from anyone from down there, (except some sporadic information: see for instance the book Secrets from Mount Shasta by Earlyne Chaney)

Adama, Of the city of telos within Shasta, and Mikos describe a paradise a Shangri-La type where violence, hate, poverty, pollution, chaos and overpopulation are totally unknown.

This fantastic human dreamland, according to Adama, and Mikos-head of the high tech library of Porthologos--must be understood in its emotional and spiritual signification, where love for life and nature, and honesty reign supreme.

In order to maintain their endless spiritual progression Telosians must help us in our spiritual liberation and emotional progression. It is evident we need help with our daily battles with materialism.

"Love is the Liberator" the Divine Mind cannot be defeated, as Mary Baker Eddy in Science and Health, declares.

What is real to a scientist?
Scientists only believe in what they say they know is real. The fact must be recognized that many of the things modern scientists now uphold as an inseperable part of reality were laughed at, violently refuted, disgraced, ridiculed and outlawed by scientists, religions, and the military rulers of past ages.

The geocentric view of the universe used to dominate western thought. Every "learned" man of reason knew for fact that the universe revolved around the flat Earth.

Know the heliocentric concept of the Universe is the order of the day and anyone who disputes otherwise is a madman and a fool.

In the same way the "authorities" and "experts" of modern man changed their minds about their environment in previous years, so will they change their minds once again about the existence of the people described in this book.

The flaky reputation of New Age mysticism is just a way for people to debunk these people who are a modern mystery. The truth will reveal itself to us regardless if we want to believe it or not.

Freddy is back and just as ornery
Probably before you were born, the bookmobile would stop off at our school and I looked forward to reading "Freddy" books. I enjoyed all of his adventures and friends (Jinx had a few adventures of his own). Now those books are collector's items and rarely show up in used book stores. As much as I miss the originals he is back and just as ornery as ever. One Day I hope the earlier one will get republished. In the mean time Even thought these books are geared towards young ones, they still can hold the attention of old codgers.

Kurt wise does a good job of illustrating and for those that have never reads Freddy you have a great mystery ahead of you.

Freddy and the ghosts
This may well be the best of the Freddy books written by Walter R. Brooks (its only competition is Freddy the Magician). Children and adults alike will find this one of the most fun books they've ever read. I can still remember the delicious chills I felt when reading this book at twelve, and still enjoy reading it today. As usual, Freddy gets into trouble trying to help friends -- Mr. Camphor to get rid of his aunts and an innkeeper whose hotel is haunted.

Wow, wow, wow, wow, wow. Need I say more?
My first encouner with Freddy the pig left me feeling like I had just found Tut's tomb. His stories are loaded with treasures-wit, well-developed characters, and clear evidence that Brooks understood and RESPECTED children's intellect and character. Two foretrotters Up!!

Life Altering Literature
I saw this book in the store, and it kept calling my name, for many reasons ... but it seemed a reasonable choice, at the time I was looking for ways to help my husband through some difficult times

Once i began reading the book, I found it to be a help to me spiritually . It covered all the bases of my relationship with God and my spouse. I knew I was being ministered to through this book.

I look at things so differently now... not just because of the author's practical applications of God's Word,(which was truly enlighting) , but the sheer ability to motivate me to change and place myself in a position to seek God more in regards to my marriage, and His total purpose for marriage.

What An Incredibly Honest Book!!
Connie Neal is one of the best artists I have had the privilege of reading! Her work on this book, and research into the lives of real people in real situations is filled with honesty. Makes me know the feelings, thoughts I had as I journeyed with my husband through cancer were normal, and that I was not a flegling Christian because of my weakness.

Keep Writing Connie!!!!!!

Thy will, not my will
This book made God's plan for marriage so clear. It provided a much needed contrast to what the world says marriage is.

A must read for anyone who would teach
Although Gregory's intended audience is those who would teach children and youth, the laws he outlines are equally applicable to teaching adults. Having taught children in Sunday Schools, and adults in software training classes and programming classes, I can verify that ignoring these principles is significantly deleterious to the outcome of teaching.

Gregory's observations are organised into explanations of seven laws (hence the title):

The Law of the Lesson
The Law of the Language
The Law of the Teacher
The Law of the Teaching Process
The Law of the Learner
The Law of the Learning Process
The Law of Review

His key insight is that knowledge is not a commodity that can be transferred from mind to mind in the way that a physical object is transferred from hand to hand. Thus teaching is fundamentally a conversation, and the object of the teacher is not to directly transmit knowledge. Rather, the teacher's goal is to excite the student to self discovery and to direct him or her in that process of discovery. The teacher should only resort to direct communication of the material when it is necessary to quickly provide context for the main lesson to be learned.

The stress upon review done properly is equally important. For Gregory, review is not successful if the teacher merely elicits a verbatim recitation of the lesson imparted. Review should be structured in a way that requires the student to have internalised the lesson and be able to apply it experientially.

Even though the book is thin, Gregory gives many practical tips for making teaching work and many of examples of what doesn't work. In fact, the thinness is a virtue. One can easily read a chapter in a very short sitting, but then spend the rest of one's day evaluating one's own teaching by his standards and pondering what changes could be made to improve one's teaching.

Amazing!
I had taught Sunday School for a few years when a seasoned elder recommended this book. I was immediately hooked when I began to read it. I had to learn to teach the hard way, and I wish I had gotten ahold of this book earlier. I am now the Sunday School superintendent and I asked all the teachers to read this book. They loved it too! The amazing thing about this masterpiece of a book is that he follows his own advice. He starts simple and works to the more complex. He gets the readers attention and interest and keeps it until the end. Even if you don't like to read that much, you will savour this well written book. I was inspired and equipped to be a better teacher after reading this book.

The Seven Laws of Teaching
As much as I enjoy The Seven Laws of Teaching, I also enjoy its orderly lay out. Each law of teaching is paced chapter by chapter, which makes reader easy to follow the flow of the concepts. In another word, its structure gives an effective communication to the readers. Another strength of this book is the paragraph number and the key word next to the paragraph. The paragraph number and the key word are two effective reading tools in reviewing the concepts for the reader.

Something is happening--black Lab Sally can feel it in the air. When she sees the suitcase, she knows it for sure--she and her human companion (who appears only as an arm or pair of feet now and then) are going on vacation! Soon they're off to an island in the ocean. Along the way, Sally sees birds, boats, lots of other dogs, and even a whale. At the beach, Sally explores and plays. "The air smells great, just like cat food!"

This simple tale of a holiday adventure is perfect for any child planning--or reminiscing about--a trip to the shore. Stephen Huneck's text is a quiet tribute to the magic of a sunny day in the sand and surf. But the indisputable wonder of this book is the artwork. Internationally known artist Huneck created every woodcut print by hand, drawing the design in crayon, then carving one block of wood for each color in the appropriate shape. The result is a stunning collection of brightly colored woodcut prints showing spry Sally diving in the ocean, riding boats, and digging holes in the sand. As in his clever My Dog's Brain, Huneck modeled Sally after his very own Labrador retriever, also named Sally. (Ages 3 to 7) --Emilie Coulter

Average review score:

It's a Dog's Life
We see things from Sally's perspective- the story told with humor and wonderful pictures. My 3 year old granddaughter and I hope Sally goes to a lot more places- the beach, mountains and farm could be just the start.

A great read!
I thought this book would be fun for my son since we have a black lab, but I underestimated how much I would enjoy it too! The illustrations are incredible and the text is witty and really seems to show life from a dog's point of view! Highly recommend particularly if you have or like dogs!

Not just for lab owners...
This book is great for anyone who loves to take their dog with them. It gives you insight into what your dog is thinking while you're packing for vacation, lounging on the beach, etc. Once again, beautiful illustrations.

A Fresh Introduction to What Faith Can Mean In One's Life
This stimulating and somewhat surprising book. Not your usual devotional book, this is a volume which will inspire both those who have walked in faith for years, a pastor seeking renewal, and those who are just beginning.

MORE FAITH
You will experience more in your spiritual quest for God and more faith by reading this book. The stories of Biblical characters and examples of people of faith will not only encourage but transform lives. It is a must read that you can't put down.

Encouragement Amidst the Storms of Life
If you are facing any trials or storms in your life, this book is one that will lift your spirits and remind you of the "faithful" that have gone before us. Reading about the Biblical characters and people of faith today give encouragement to "hang in there" facing the storms of life. This book makes you think about the life choices you make today and how those choices will effect those around you for generations. The book helps to reflect on what kind of faith goes the distance and is it worth it. Once you begin reading, it's one of those books you can't put down. You will not look at life the same after reading this book.

Wow!
I first got hooked on Lori Wick books when a friend of mine let me borrow "Sophie's Heart" at a choir competition. Since then, I have literally inhaled all her books. I only gave this pair of books four stars because "Pretense", "To Know Her by Name", and "The Princess" are so unbelievably good! Her books, and these two in particular, do an excellent job of presenting real characters with real lives and real struggles. Lori Wick's books are a terrific standard to hold to Christian romance fiction. I highly recommend them.

GREAT STORY
I dont like all of Lori Wick's books- but this one was fantastic. Its about a family forced to move to California without their father, and how they survive. I could not put the book down!

Lori's books are wonderful!
This is the first of Lori Wick's books that I ever read, and I loved it so much that I just had to read the rest in the series! The story is about a young woman and her brother and sister who move from Hawaii to California during the 1870's, and their struggles in being on their own. Also Rigg who falls in love with Kaitlin at first sight, but she doesn't feel like that for a while. I couldn't stop reading it after the second half and I couldn't put it down until I found out what happened! I love the way Lori writes Novels, in a way that every romance should be, a God approving relationship. Be sure to read the sequences to this great book: As Time Goes By, Sean Donovan, Donovan's Daughter.

Sweetie Awo Goes to Boarding School
AUTHOR:Flora A. Trebi-Ollennu

Sweetie Awo is having a hay-time in school. Mr. Odiko's captivating stories that always end-up keeping the class in anticipation of what would happen next; the "We Five" club comprising of four other friends; scoring almost perfectly in her spelling test; and, in-class color competition, are some of the events that usually illuminate and electrify her school experience. At home, the interaction and bond with various members of the family and extended family usually give her the courage and security she needs to know she is not alone even though her parents may not be home. This cohesive relationship among family members is one of the determinants of the African culture.

Living in a compound-like setting breeds values that can be good or bad. Sweetie Awo is lucky. She is growing in the midst of family members who uphold good values and morality. These values are practiced among family members and transferred to the younger generation. In most cases, the younger generation learns by observation. As for Sweetie Awo, some of the values learned at this young age are: respect for elders - not to call older people names for example; patience; keeping promises; obedience; honesty; knowing the significance of education such as: paying attention in class, participating in class/school activities, and to be prepared for school always.

Sweetie Awo thinks all the fun she enjoys in school and home will soon evaporate when she heard that she will be transferred to a boarding school and her father will also be transferred to another city. What should she do? Should she go to the boarding school and make new friends or, live with her auntie or grandmother and attend her old school hence, keeping her old friends, or should she move with her father to another city and make new friends all over again? It was a difficult choice to make. Finally, one of her friends made it easier for her to choose - she is also being transferred to the same boarding school. Now, Sweetie Awo is happy; she won't be lonely in boarding school.

The author highlights some traits that constitute the pillars of education in Africa, which are: living in a compound and attending a boarding school. Living in a compound enhances closer ties with each family and non family member. This happened when the older and more experienced unconsciously become role models, mentors, surrogate parents and disciplinarians of the young just as the adage affirms, "It takes a village to raise a child." Another area cited by the author that fosters closer relationship within compound living is sharing - especially of food and other household amenities. This type of relationship breaks down the walls of individualism and fosters collectivism, i.e., "I am my brother's keeper."

Boarding school in my opinion is the most preferred system of education to those that can afford it. In Africa, it is the most respected. In boarding school, character is formed, live-time friends are made, skills are formulated, structure is followed, discipline is maintained, study and/or play groups are made, visits by family members and/or holidays are more appreciated, and lastly and not the least, education is not taken for granted - the opportunity is taken seriously.

The big decision
It was hard for Awo Marley to decide whether to go to the
Lorgorligi city or go to the boarding school her parents had
told her about. That was a very big decision to make.Well one
day when Awo Marley went to school and told her 'we five'
club then she figured out that one of her best friends which
is dede is going to the same boarding school as her so now she
knew what to tell her mom and dad about her decision.

If i were Awo i would go to the lorgorligi city with them
because they are the ones ilove.

Just as sweet the second time
I really enjoyed reading Sweetie Awo goes to Boarding School, the second book in the Sunbeamy Kids series. The author captured my attention within moments of reading the first page. Sweetie Awo's school activities were shared as adventures including class competitions not unlike our team houseleagues, Independence Day celebrations and projects like the Virtual Zoo. Sweetie's family relationships were further developed from the first book in this series as the heroine grows in confidence and independence. Many emotions are evoked in the idea of attending a boarding school. The author includes everyday routines such as chores, homework and meal preparation to help the reader identify with Sweetie. I liked touring the Gonpaw Botanical Gardens with Sweetie and her family. This would be a great opportunity to explore more deeply the geography of the book's setting. Teachers could use this book and its Word Bank to study about Ghana including its customs and culture. An enjoyable read for children and adults alike, I look forward to reading more of Sweetie Awo's adventures.

Genertional Study
"Where the Road Goes" renders an up close and personal examination of the Warriner family via an epistolary novel. I have always enjoyed this method (see "A Woman of Independent Means" by Elizabeth Forsythe) of letters or diaries being the narrative device. When well done, the reader has a unique intimacy with the narrator. When not so well done, the reader gets a galloping case of claustrophobia. Ms. Greenberg does well with her material and produces a highly readable book.

Antigone ("Tig"), the head of the clan, is a former activist who is taking a year off to walk across America from California to Cape Cod with an environmentalist group, maybe to get in touch with her past. Her correspondents are husband Marz, daughters Justice and Solidarity (right there, I had doubts about heroine Tig, who would burden her children with such names!), and grandchildren Ben and Hope. Tig and Marz, highly intelligent, have had marital problems in the past mostly because of Tig's high-minded activism. The daughters are polar opposites, Justice is a rigid conformist; Solidarity has drifted through life with few goals. The grandchildren, both teenagers are well drawn; Ben comes off as a wise child; Hope is achingly innocent, stubborn and idealistic. When Hope falls in love with a Native American boy who is about as stable as an earthquake, a tragedy is in the making.

While the story was interesting, I was continually irritated by the passivity of the characters. I became more and more sympathetic with Justice, mother of Hope and Ben, who was frantically trying to head off a maelstrom while the rest of the family counseled patience and love. Why on earth Tig did not abandon her march to help put out fires on the home front makes her seem grotesquely selfish. Marz's platitudes and reasoning are at best ineffectual, at worst down right stupid. The Warriner's solution to an 800-lb. gorilla in the living room was to pretend he wasn't there.

The story is strong enough to make the reader care, but not necessarily like the main characters. This would be a good book club selection because everyone will have strong opinions that should make for a good rousing discussion.

A Terrific Story in Letters
This novel kept me up until the wee hours. It was wonderful..... Written as a series of diary entries and letters to and from Tig (Antigone) as she walks cross-country taking an environmental survey. Her letters are to and from her husband, Marz; her two daughters, Justice and Solidarity; her grandson, and her granddaughter.

I really enjoy epistolary novels, and was in awe of the way Joanne Greenberg was able to find such an authentic and distinctive *voice* and writing style for each character. Tig's wisdom and her ability to smooth things over/negotiate/arbitrate/give advice was apparent in her letters, although she was not a totally sympathetic character. She has always been an activist and sometimes, as a younger woman, put her causes before her commitment to her daughters and her marriage.

Through these letters, we see family interaction in a unique way. It is not always a good picture, but I think it is honest and explores many issues faced (or not faced) by families today.

Tough going in places, this book is not one I will forget.

A Super Discovery
Though I haven't read any of Greenberg's other books, you can be sure I will look them up after finishing _Where the Road Goes_. This is the most powerful epistolary novel I've read in a long time, and the suspense was breath-taking (don't peek--this is one book that will consistently surprise you if you let it).
