Goal Books

Cute child's book.

Younger children will get a kick out of this book, but need mom or dad or big sister to help. Older kids, or more experienced finger book kids, can handle it alone.

This little book has holes strategically placed, so that, on each page, the child is to put 2 fingers through creating legs or monkey arms, or whatever for that page. Delightful!

I like the Hawaiian hula girl, and Jose - each page has a little rhyme too.. OK - here is the one for Jose:

"Jose will strum his grand guitar, to create the samba beat, if you will help him keep the time, by the tapping of his feet! then, your little dear will put her fingers in the 2 holes and make Jose's "feet" tap.

There also are some characters from nursery rhymes, such as Miss Muffet, and the cow that jumped over the moon.

The pages are thicker than a normal book, as they will be taking some beating, with all the fingers in and out and page turning. Just make sure you remove fingers before turning the page!!

Buy a dozen for the kids and grandkids. I did!

At $8.95US cover price, this book cannot be beat. I picked it up because I need help developing my slapshot. The coverage of all points related regarding scoring is fantastic. You won't find information about improving your skating, but you will find plenty about dekes, stick handling, shooting, and best of all, reading the goalie.

I only found one fault with the book -- some explanations are too simple and don't go in depth where you might have a question about their explanation.

I cannot express to you how helpful this book is to me. I am an average player, and it filled me in on a lot of things I didn't know and probably never would if I hadn't read it. Besides, this book is so colorful and well put together that just the pictures of the pros make it worth the money.

I'd say a "good read" for any player who has been playing less than two years and a "must read" for any forward who has been playing for less than two years.

A true inspiration in motivational concepts - individualized to work for everyone. I bought four copies to give out to friends and family.

This lady really explains clearly why we do what we do. She gives excellent step-by-step directions on goal setting. Now the hardest part is the "doing daily" next steps. I know she can help anyone, if you put these into practice. A great resource for any day and age, especially as we enter the new millenium.

What a phenomenal book. Goal Setting and Time Management with a clarity and consistency. I bought the book because I loved the title. I refer the book because of the content. I was so impressed with the Goal Achievement Process and have to say, I'm hooked. I have has quantifiable goals met with positive results. And I stopped whining and have continued to use the book to keep focused and organized. I also bought the CD on Amazon called: The Power of the Goal Achievement Process and listen to in my car all the time!

The Frontier Issues in Economic Thought summaries, along with the overview essays, provide a markedly different service from the standard collection of abstracts. The series will benefit not only scholarly work but the application of our best thinking to the problems of the times.

When I began as a speech-language pathologist in '95, I saw goals and objectives coming in to middle school level with "Junior will increase his semantic knowledge" (a goal) and "Junior will increase his vocabulary to 70% accuracy" (an objective). I was very confused about what level vocabulary to use (although some helpful SLPs put in the word lists they had covered along with data on accuracy)and then what objectives to continue on with after the previous ones were met. The scope and sequence of semantic, syntactic, pragmatic, phonological, articulation goal and objective writing and lesson/program planning for students seemed overwhelming. This book really helped to get a handle on what are the major skills and sequences of skills that I will be working on here in a school setting. This book is still relevant for program planning and goal/objective writing and progress evaluation!

If you need a lift in life this book really provides the means to do it. It reminds us of the real joy that resides within us and how we can go about finding it if we have lost it. A terrific book for gift-giving.
