Teacher in the making
Go WIthin or Go WIthoutIt can entertain, make you smile, make you wonder, and open up areas in one's mind to the possibilities within. Like a pebble tossed into the universal "pond" of the mind, the words ripple out to touch other thoughts within the reader. And within the next reader. It is sent out into the world with the hopeful promise of sharing--planting the seeds for possible inner change.
If is offered to the world like a smile--if one person smiles and causes 2 others to smile, and those two cause 2 others to smile, the effect is exponential. This book makes me smile.

5 Stars and 5 HugsI enjoyed the pages where Joshua identifes the many dangers in the world (in alphabetical order)including Ants,Avalanche, Baths, Bears, Bees, Burglars, Bombs, Crocodiles, Dogs, Drowning, Earthquake, Flood, Forest Fire, Homework, Hurricane, Kiss, Lightning, Monsters, Quicksand, Sharks, Snakes, Spiders, Stage Fright, Terrorist,, Things Under the Bed, Tornado and the Unknown. He lists where the danger lurks, such as Mountains, Where it is Warm or Everywhere. Then Joshua answers "Can I Get Hurt?" with responses like, No kid has ever died from getting clean. Not Ever. or Stay on paths, don't move logs, don't try to kill or tease snakes.
The pages about the things that worry children (including; the dark, getting sick, not having friends, getting dead, scary movies, tests at school, germs, answering questions in class, bullies, making mistakes, losing my things, AND MORE ...) and how he and his friends cope are WONDERFUL.
Lots of feelings explored in a very positive tone.

Mother, if in Heaven there are no apples, I don't want to go
Mother, If In Heaven There Are No Apples, I Don't Want to GoBut also, her book shows how a child growing up in war torn Germany could still grow into a young woman full of hope, with determination and inner strength to pursue an education; who through her strong faith in God and prayer, became a woman that desired to serve God by helping others.
This book is very easy to read. I recommend it highly.
A bridge across the Atlantic Oceant was like a red thread of deterimination and a persistant goal leading the Author to venture out ,to persue her nursing degree ,a amost difficult choice in a foreign language. Her sight defnitaly were set towards the Great Land a land of the free, stand beside her and guide her through the night with the light from above, from the mountains to the prairy to the ocean wide with foam God Bless America my home sweet home.

Vivid InsightsA keen observation and understanding of human relationships is at play here; each short piece is an unselfconscious window into the fascinating texture of someone's life. So a child who is squashed into a changing room with her mother trying on a swimming costume feels compelled to lie favourably about the garment though she is appalled by the change it brings to her beloved parent. Likewise a woman feels trapped and pursued by the attentions of a seemingly helpful man in a cafe, his war-like campaign aided and abetted by the waiters.
That Jessica Treat is able to capture the essence of her diverse subject matter with such apparently casual ease (an aspect that pays tribute to her highly developed skills as a writer) lends an entirely natural quality to the works that make them a pleasure to read. Ideal to dip into or to read at length.
Small but perfectly formed.Apart from the excellent contents this book is also a pleasure to handle because of the beautiful paper quality, the fine typeface and the excellent cover art. Coffee-to-go have produced a small book to treasure.

If you understand the question, you won't need the answer.Zen To Go is a compendium of those OMG flashes of insight when words can almost kind of describe the truth of things and maybe-just-maybe you figured something real out. It's a bunch of contradictions(nothing is everything is nothing), a bunch of humor(Yogi Berra is quoted a lot), and all else inbetween.
It's the best book I've ever read or ever will read without a doubt, because when I first flipped through it's pages, in a Borders bookstore on a non day, an older, wiser me flipped back.
what a great book
