An great source of inspiring essays and paintings.
Fred Babb's book "Go to Your Studio and Make Stuff" is an excellent source of paintings and essay about being an artist. I use them for inspiration and reflection in my classroom. I get many comments from my art students and the classroom teachers.

Excellent Poster Book for ALL of your senses!
I am seeking to purchase a second of this book to keep intact so I can use the posters in my art classroom. This book gives a whimsical, colorful, poignant, yet serious look at Art from the viewpoint of Fred Babb. The illustrations are unique and portray the attitude of the artist well. A "must have" for anyone interested in making a comment on art for adults as well as children!

Humorous, I love the writing & the full color artwork.
This book has renewed my faith in art and life. Mr. Babb has a true sense of what it takes to be an artist in this "dog eat dog world". I am praying for second book for this master of humor and insightfulness.

Teacher in the making
Gloria writes in a style that is easy to follow. She tells you straight forward. I like her honesty. She shares that we all have the gifts to heal and she is willing to show us the way. Check out her website for heart felt sharing from Gloria direct and others that have chosen to dialoge with her daily.

Go WIthin or Go WIthout
Gloria writes in a straight-forward, heart warming, style. It's a powerful book that will seem as innocent & approachable as chocolate chip cookies & milk. Lessons are taught on multiple levels, depending on what the reader wants from the book.

It can entertain, make you smile, make you wonder, and open up areas in one's mind to the possibilities within. Like a pebble tossed into the universal "pond" of the mind, the words ripple out to touch other thoughts within the reader. And within the next reader. It is sent out into the world with the hopeful promise of sharing--planting the seeds for possible inner change.

If is offered to the world like a smile--if one person smiles and causes 2 others to smile, and those two cause 2 others to smile, the effect is exponential. This book makes me smile.

The Miraculous in the Mundane
This book is a beautiful spiritual chronicle of an ordinary person who received divine gifts and how she came to terms with understanding and living her life mission. Her wonderfully inspiring book is peppered with family anecdotes with a down-home spin yet she manages very expertly to present profound material in a very understandable way.She believes we all have the ability to self-heal and gives us helpful exercises and new ways to look at our everyday lives. For the reader on a spiritual path, this book is very significant, maybe even life-transforming.

An admirable translation of tantric songs
Godrakpa Sonam Gyaltsen was a great Tibetan Buddhist master of the 12th century whose songs were a great influence on the early yogic traditions. In Hermit Of Go Cliffs: Timeless Instructions From A Tibetan Mystic, Cyrus Stearns provides an admirable translation of these tantric songs for the benefit of an English reading public. Hermit Of Go Cliffs is a very welcome and highly appreciated contribution to the growing library of Buddhist literature available to both the student and the non-specialist general reader seeking an appreciation of Tibetan Buddhism.

Enhanced for students of Buddhism
In Hermit Of Go Cliffs: Timeless Instructions From A Tibetan Mystic, Cyrus Stearns draws upon his impressive Tibetan scholarship to translate from the writings of Tibetan masters for the benefit of an English-speaking readership. This particular and remarkable compendium features "The Collected Songs of the Adept Godrakpa Who is Peerless in the Three Realms". The text is enhanced for students of Buddhism with illustrations, an informative introduction, notes on the translation, a bibliography, and an index. Hermit Of Go Cliffs is an invaluable, worthwhile, and much appreciation contribution to the expanding library of Buddhist thought and philosophy now available to western readers.

Valuable!
The Tibetan Culture is fading fast. It is vary wonderful that books like this exist to help spread thsi unique history. The religeous lineage of these people is so strong, nad yet due to chinese oppression is being lsot forever. I suggest this book to anyone involved in asian or religeous studies.

How to Go to Visitation without Throwing Up

5 Stars and 5 Hugs
As good a book for parents as for children. This young author adresses the challenges children face and demonstrates how children and their parents inadverntly make things harder. His ideas for understanding and improving things are great.

I enjoyed the pages where Joshua identifes the many dangers in the world (in alphabetical order)including Ants,Avalanche, Baths, Bears, Bees, Burglars, Bombs, Crocodiles, Dogs, Drowning, Earthquake, Flood, Forest Fire, Homework, Hurricane, Kiss, Lightning, Monsters, Quicksand, Sharks, Snakes, Spiders, Stage Fright, Terrorist,, Things Under the Bed, Tornado and the Unknown. He lists where the danger lurks, such as Mountains, Where it is Warm or Everywhere. Then Joshua answers "Can I Get Hurt?" with responses like, No kid has ever died from getting clean. Not Ever. or Stay on paths, don't move logs, don't try to kill or tease snakes.

The pages about the things that worry children (including; the dark, getting sick, not having friends, getting dead, scary movies, tests at school, germs, answering questions in class, bullies, making mistakes, losing my things, AND MORE ...) and how he and his friends cope are WONDERFUL.

Lots of feelings explored in a very positive tone.

A Kid's Advice to Other Kids. Well Done!
A really good piece of work. Doesn't make the child responsible for the actions of the adults. Helps the child identify, understand and deal with the feelings in a hands-on manner. Amazing how it addresses many of the worries children face. Visualizing the big picture of parenting time while recognizing that it takes small steps to get there. Everyone must work hard to accomplish a process made more difficult by the legal system and distance. I have an adult child that faced these challenges and a small child that faces them now. I wish the grown child had had this book. The younger child really enjoyed it.

Kids Helping Kids to Cope with Visitation
This book is very well written for kids of all ages. Joshua has written a book that will help many kids going through the life of being bounced around from one parent to parent which is not easy for a child at any age. ...Great job Joshua...

God did say that to you!
WOW! Cathy has done it again! Funny and annointed, this book helps you to know that you can believe God and He does want to use you! At a time when I did not know if all that had been told to me would come to pass God put this book in my hand and had me refer to it often. It helped me to see that God is there and I do hear from Him. When you have done all stand, stand!

The gift that keeps on giving...
Cathy Lechner is totally hilarious. I found myself reading passages to my sister over the phone, and anyone who would listen! She cleverly tells of her life experiences and immerses the reader with wisdom and Bible truth, while taking you on a fun and exciting journey through the ordinary, extraordinary, and out of the ordinary! Many chapters have caused me to sit and reflect on my own life and how I can be all I can be in Christ and hang on to the hope of my promises coming to pass. The Lord is faithful! She really touches on examples that we can all relate with, but at the same time deals with many wisdom packed ideas of overcoming those obstacles in life (fear, doubt, etc.) that sometimes make us stumble or weary that our promises will come to pass. Her stories are heartwarming, real, inspiring, and based on God's Truth, yet sprinkled with the type of humor that would make the most serious get a chuckle. I am thankful to have run into this author. There is something in this for everyone!

Cathy Lechner Does It Again
This book found me at the right time. I did not read this book in a day or two. Instead I'd read a couple of pages and pick up it two days later. Believe it or not, the contents spoke to me and everything I was going through each time I'd pick it up to read. Cathy Lechner's excellent book shows that we all get frustrated when we receive so many different prophecies and promises from God yet it seems nothing is happening. After reading her book you will be encouraged to hold unto God's promises even if your body parts do "go south." I loved it.

Mother, If In Heaven There Are No Apples, I Don't Want to Go There

Mother, if in Heaven there are no apples, I don't want to go
This book takes you back to Christel's childhood in war-torn Germany. She captivates your attention in telling her story. The short chapters make it easy to pick up the book and read for a short period of time, as often as you like. Even though she shares the hardships of growing up, it is in a loving setting. Her sense of humor keeps it interesting.

Mother, If In Heaven There Are No Apples, I Don't Want to Go
I very much enjoyed reading Mrs. Bresko's book. It gives glimpses of life during and after World War II, revealing hardships (and times of joy) that were not included in history books, nor taught in history class at school.

But also, her book shows how a child growing up in war torn Germany could still grow into a young woman full of hope, with determination and inner strength to pursue an education; who through her strong faith in God and prayer, became a woman that desired to serve God by helping others.

This book is very easy to read. I recommend it highly.

A bridge across the Atlantic Ocean
Living amongst undernourished and sick children,I can see that even in difficult times a child can live a clean life with parents who are God fearing. The Author brought out how children can live with bombs all around them and still live a fairly normal life.Self preservation and motivation can be instilled in a young child and nourished ,given the admonition and encouragment which will last a lifetime. There were intense sections of life with sickness ,hunger which could influence a life which is not guided right. It seems the children had respect for their mother who in turns showed respect to her children. It seemed the "Red Pitcher" in the story was a vocal point in the book, a clear situation a child can get into with hardly any effort.
t was like a red thread of deterimination and a persistant goal leading the Author to venture out ,to persue her nursing degree ,a amost difficult choice in a foreign language. Her sight defnitaly were set towards the Great Land a land of the free, stand beside her and guide her through the night with the light from above, from the mountains to the prairy to the ocean wide with foam God Bless America my home sweet home.

Easy Read & Informative
In comparison to other books that I have read and/or bought, this one is highly recommended as a must read. The book is informative in so many ways. Example: the chapter on zoning was to the point minus legal jargon; and the usual redundant babble that is of no value for being an entrepreneur, it's only to fill up the page. I've found that most books on being an entrepreneur graze over the topics and don't get to the meat of the subject, but this one does, which is what I wanted and needed. I'm the type of person that needs specifics and for things to be in plain terms - - I'm not one for beating around the bush. This book is a definite keeper, and I use it often as a reference at home and in my new company as an entrepreneur.

Where was this book 2 yrs ago?!?
I've bought a lot of supposed "entrepreneur guide" books that have not been a waste of my money and I started to pass this one up. The lady at the book fare convinced me (after 20 mins) and I'm glad I made the investment. I'm writing this review because this book was a God-send for me, and I KNOW it will be for you. It's plain, simple and straight to the point; no unnecessary jargon, no dictionary or attorney needed for comprehension. I followed the steps listed and believe it or not EVERYTHING WORKED! My company is up and running, and it's only because this book is written in layman's terms, nothing technical. Yes, it took 2 years to find a true entrepreneur guide, but the timing could not have been better. This one is highly recommended. I've bought copies and passed it on to other up and coming entrepreneurs and it has benefited them all as well. Sheila Taylor-Downer, THANKS for writing this book; Great Job!

For anyone aspiring to become their own boss
Ready Or Not...Get Set Go is the ideal "how to" book for anyone aspiring to become their own boss through launching their own business enterprise. Debra Hamilton and Sharon Taylor effectively collaborate to offer the reader an informative and practical guide and reference to starting and operating a successful business as they survey such essential issues as the legal structure for a self-owned business; "law & taxes"; do-it-yourself evaluation for personal qualities necessary for running a business; the start-up costs of a small business; creation of an effective and goal oriented business plan; marketing; and much, much more. If you are contemplating having a business of your own, begin with a careful reading of Ready Or Not...Get Set Go -- it will be the best investment of your time and money that you could make in deciding whether or not to go out on your own in today's highly competitive marketplace.

Vivid Insights
This collection is a cornucopia of experiences and significant encounters. Like the fragments of lives that a beachcomber may experience through the objects washed up on a shore, so 'A Robber in the House' is filled with powerful insights into individual human existences.

A keen observation and understanding of human relationships is at play here; each short piece is an unselfconscious window into the fascinating texture of someone's life. So a child who is squashed into a changing room with her mother trying on a swimming costume feels compelled to lie favourably about the garment though she is appalled by the change it brings to her beloved parent. Likewise a woman feels trapped and pursued by the attentions of a seemingly helpful man in a cafe, his war-like campaign aided and abetted by the waiters.

That Jessica Treat is able to capture the essence of her diverse subject matter with such apparently casual ease (an aspect that pays tribute to her highly developed skills as a writer) lends an entirely natural quality to the works that make them a pleasure to read. Ideal to dip into or to read at length.

Small but perfectly formed.
Many people find short fiction unsatisfying. So you might think that very short fiction, and many of the micro fictions in this collection are only one page in length, would be even less satisfying. But that couldn't be further from the truth. Miraculously these short fictions have more depth and insight than fiction many times their length. Jessica Treat's writing is so precise and vivid that she is able to conjure whole worlds with a handful of her expertly chosen words. Like the best sex Treat's stories leave one feeling both fulfilled and wanting more! She makes it look easy, but anyone who's tried writing a very short story that works will know it's one of the hardest things to do.

Apart from the excellent contents this book is also a pleasure to handle because of the beautiful paper quality, the fine typeface and the excellent cover art. Coffee-to-go have produced a small book to treasure.

Like James Joyce's Dubliners vivid sketch of America life
It is a great pleasure as I read the stories. Each story is an intimate experience with the characters and their obssession. When a stranger comes up to a woman in a coffee shop to ask for a piece of paper, we understand that is the beginning of something deeper. I enjoyed deeply the people in her books their little worries and dreams. All the stories have a dream liquid qualities to them.

If you understand the question, you won't need the answer.
You need to read this book to figure out that you didn't need to read this book.
Zen To Go is a compendium of those OMG flashes of insight when words can almost kind of describe the truth of things and maybe-just-maybe you figured something real out. It's a bunch of contradictions(nothing is everything is nothing), a bunch of humor(Yogi Berra is quoted a lot), and all else inbetween.
It's the best book I've ever read or ever will read without a doubt, because when I first flipped through it's pages, in a Borders bookstore on a non day, an older, wiser me flipped back.

what a great book
very zen in itself, and admittedly a "finger pointing at the moon", this book gives a great flavor of zen and shows zen's varied forms as well as zen's freedom from a particular time. Great concept, great quotes, great book.

Best cross section on Zen available
Lighthearted but impressive collection of quotations on all aspecs of Zen from Life to Death, BC to modern day, & everything in between. A great place to start searching for those aspects of Zen philosophy which interest you. Quips from Yogi Berra to the Buddha make this a wide-ranging and sometimes moving collection I've read time and time again.
