Not only a balanced, but also clinically tested diet
The Go-Diet is a very moderate low-carb diet with practically no restriction of calories (usually the calorie intake was up to 2,500.) Dieters can have 65 grams of carbohydrate a day and no more than 12 grams of carbs at any single meal. They're supposed to eat a lot of yogurt, kefir, or buttermilk and not to be worried about the carb content in these products. This makes a lot of sense if one considers the growing body of evidence for health benefits of probiotics.

One of important points is fiber content: no less than 25 grams of fiber every day, mostly it comes with plenty of raw vegetables: 5 servings of leafy and cruciferous veggies.

The diet is high in calcium, magnesium and all other minerals. It contains vitamins A, B, C, D, E and K and requires practically no supplements.

The research results are consistent with another low-carb diets studies like these:

"Compared with the low-carbohydrate diet, the high-carbohydrate diet caused a 27.5% increase in plasma triglycerides and a similar increase in LDL-cholesterol levels; it also reduced levels of HDL cholesterol by 11%."(Diabetes. 41(10):1278-85, 1992)

In the article "Treatment of obesity with low-carbohydrate diets," the authors concluded: "Concentrations of plasma triglycerides and cholesterol turned to normal during therapy. There were no side effects on the gastro-intestinal tract." (Medizinische Klinik. 70(15):653-7,1975)

"Serum triglycerides decreased more after the high fat diet (52mg/dl) than after high protein diet (67 mg/dl)." (Journal of the American College of Nutrition. 4(4):451-9, 1985)

Sound Diet, Sound Sense, Sound Results
I have every book on low-carb diets that has been printed, but this one makes the most sense. After another low-carb attempt my cholestrol, etc. tests showed increases. Scary, very scary to me. This diet raises the monounsatured fat, lowers carbohydrates, increases fiber and is nutritionally balanced with normal protein levels.(Just as the cover states.) The weight is coming off, as with other low-carb attempts, but the blood test numbers are better and that is what we all aim for, right? The most encouraging part for me is that the Go-Diet is well balanced....you can live with it for a lifetime, even with an occasional "slip". I should have read this book first. I would have saved a lot of money and wasted time. Written by intelligent and compassionate professionals.

Thank you GO Diet!!
This diet worked for me and now i don't have to be ashamed to go in public anymore. Thank you Drs. Goldberg and O'Mara. God Bless!!

How to Start a Hollywood Career Without Having to Go There: An Instruction Manual for Actors

Brilliant thinking!
This book outlines a rather novel approach to the quest for a career in Hollywood. My opinion is that it can be successfully applied with very little modification here in the UK.
Additionally, the acting technique described in this book is brilliant and I've found an immediate improvement in my own acting talents as a result of having studied it. This is not an admission I make lightly!
I highly recommend it to those seeking a career in front of the camera.

An acting class in a book!
This book is the best acting class I've ever had!

If I knew then what I've just read!
After reading this book,I now understand why my acting "career" never took off. The authors have explained things in such a way as to make me feel absolutely stupid for not having seen things more clearly when I was taking my shot at the silver screen. Sadly, my time for that has passed me by, but my daughter is reading the book so I doubt she'll make the mistakes I did. As to the technique, it is nothing short of revolutionary and should send shock waves through the fraternity of acting coaches. The added benefit to my wife and I is that my daughter needn't be leaving home just to get things going in Hollywood.

A great book!
I purchased this book for my library and read it regularly during my storytimes to pre-schoolers. I have also read it to the kids during the Summer Fun program. The story lends itself very well to reading aloud and is a very entertaining book for all ages. I enjoy it so much, I've decided to buy a personal copy.

ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS
I bought Minnie & Moo go to the Moon for my 4-year old daughter. While reading it to her, I laughed so hard I could hardly continue the book. It's a great story for children and adults alike. I liked it so much I went back and bought 5 more copies to send to family & friends to read. My office mates even bought copies for themselves. A wonderful hilarious story.

Minnie and Moo Go to the Moon
My children love this book. We have checked it out from the library so many times I figured I might as well buy it. The cows are so loveable and the story even appeals to adults.

A SUPER kids book
We received this book as a gift and have since bought the whole series for ourselves and other friends. A pop-up book that is full of laughs for young children.

Sometimes it's just good to be silly
My daughter wanted this for her birthday. It's a pop-up book that we simply have fun reading together. I think it's good in that it teaches your child that reading is enjoyable.

Fun for all ages
I have a daycare, which ranges from 1 year olds to 6 year olds, and they cannot get enough of this book. They beg me to read it daily. This book is fun for all ages, and the kids are surprised and excited every time we read it. We are planning on getting more of these books.

Serving As Senders: How to Care for Your Missionaries While They Are Preparing to Go, While They Are on the Field, When They Return Home

Send and Serve Them, Don't Just Send and Forget Them
For me, this book became a significant eye and heart opener to a Christian worldview for missions and caring for missionaries. It not only served me in understanding and becoming a better sender, but as a cared for goer. There is no legitimate reason the church sends missionaries as "disposables," when they are in reality as much part of the church body in the field as when they are at home.

Sending means Caring, before, during and after a missionary goes to the field. This book is a classic in understanding and putting into practice this principle as we go and make disciples.

Furloughing missionary
A great book for a mission's team in a sending church. This is must reading before your missionary returns home. How can you best meet their needs and understand their thinking if you have never been out of the country? This book will open up your thinking to missions as never before!

Educational and Pursuasive
"Serving as Senders" is an important book for churches and individuals serious about missions work.

Pirolo outlines for readers the need for senders... those who suppport missionaries here at home. He then gives practical reasons and ways we can help. Chapters include:

* Moral support

* Logistics support

* Financial support

* Prayer support

* Communication support

* Re-entry support

This book can be used as a guide as you look at your church's missions program, or as you evaluate your own skills and gifts.

Missionaries are a long way from home, loved ones, and things which are familiar. They are gone from a church they believe is behind them. Their needs are great, and we have the resources. How do we help them?

When I bought this book at a local church's missions week, I thought I understood what the concept of sending was all about. Now I see it not just as an occasional thing, but a ministry in itself.

I fully recommend this book.

Get ready to Rumble!
This one contains the classic Bolo against Bolo; Wriiten by no other than David Weber. Simply captivating, obsorbing and exciting! Imagine a Bolo Novel by Weber? Buy it, read it, write a review. Enjoy!

mother, friend, brother, and a hell 'ov alot of firepower
This is probably the best bolo book, why? Supose you had a friend or mother who could recite poetry, play wargames, explore the meanings of the univers and kick out megatons of damage!! that is a bolo and in this book you will see that even a "dead" bolo can figure out a way to get the job done. An interesting point in this book is that in all but one of the stories the bolo is either massively damaged or modified to the point of being considered combat ineffective and not all stories are happy. the technical readout in the back is a great bonus. A must for any bolo fan, and anyone who believes in the power of the heart be it a Bolo, a human, or a dog gone pup.

Bolos: lancelots of the future III
This is undoubtedly the best collection of Bolo storied collected to date. Only four stories, half of themm are stories you'd find in the other anthologies. The other two shine like the sun. Little Red Hen is the story of the pioneering attempts of humanity to create a complete AI that feels emotions, and they have succeeded. I will not tell you what the main happenings in the story are because you have to read it to comprehend how masterfully it is constructed. Towards the end I actually found myself CRYING. Impossible, i tried to think to myself. It's got to be onions or mabye i stepped an a tack, but inside i knew exactly what i was crying for: LRH unit 1313 , bolo mk. 21,I(special). Miles to go is another example of the line of distinction blurring. Thee main Bolo in this story is an experimental mk 23, eighty years old. However, she packs a huge suurprise: he former Commander was a psychotronics tech and , for lack of better words, souped up the crud out of her. She is the first Bolo to mount a brain box, an integral part of more modern bolos. Her new Commander, however han one major failing: he is in love with her. Nice problem. Read tese two if you like just about any sci-fi- you wont be dissapointed

This is a wonderful book. It is a great resource for teachers and offers a variety of reproducibles for use in the classroom. I would recommend this book to anyone who actively works in the classroom.

Thanks!
This book is a timesaver in every way: the ideas are great, the pages to photocopy are well thought out, and the scoring rubrics are very helpful! I'll use this book alot in my fourth grade classroom this year!

Full of great ideas, easy to use
This book is a wonderful resource, and full of great book report ideas. I like the pages that can be photocopied and distributed to the students. I have already used four of the projects, and found they are really well done.

Serenity to Go: Calming Techniques for Your Hectic Life

TIPS THAT REALLY WORK!
For me, personally, I have found two quirks that really cause me stress. One, is the wonderful world of communication technology and those irking telephone systems whereby you need to press one for this, press two for that, and if you are able to find the right person you are looking for, you end up with their voice mail. As for a human voice on the other end, that only happens if fate happens to be on your side that day, which it usually isn't. My second peeve, is waitng in line at the express lane check-out that clearly says ten items or less and there are three people ahead of you with at least thirty items each! This is called stress, but only if you respond to it.

"Serenity to Go" is filled with relaxing techniques that one can use while standing in line in the express lane even when it seems like you are standing amid the slow route to China. I find deep-breathing exercises and meditation extremely beneficial. Others I know, play mind games to pass the time, i.e, think of a breed of dog, capital city, sport, etc, that begins with each letter of the alphabet. My 89 pound Russian grandmother, at 102, had a very unique stress reliever. She always kept a pair of heavy men's workboots by the basement door. If something stressed her, she would put on the boots, go down to the basement, kick the heck out of the coal furnace, then calmly walk back up the basement stairs and sit graciously and quietly at the kitchen table without a care in the world! However, she was without the benefit of this terrific book, nor could she have read the English version. Regardless of what method relieves your stress and inner-tensions, readers will find the techniques suggested in this book, do help reduce the level of stress and tension - most of the time!

A subtile, clever teacher
The ideas in this book are so practical, and the suggestions so easy to put into real practice, it's hard to understand how we got along without it for so long. Hamilton manages to use a friendly, conversational tone without ever condescending, and she interjects many clever and original witticisms without being cute. As a teacher myself, I'm impressed--even a little jealous--at the way she so convincingly communicates original and unusual lessons. Highly recommended.

Me? Serenity? You Gotta be Kidding.
I usually avoid self help books, but this little volume found its way into my heart. It's witty, unpretentious, and best of all, useful. I regularly drive in a city where one mini-second of hesitation means a barage of curses and horns, and since reading this book I've actually managed to drive from Brooklyn to the UpperWest Side and get out of the car feeling more relaxed in body and mind than when I got in. Even more importantly, this book has pushed me to think about my priorities. Is it better to get somewhere a few minutes late and relaxed or right on time with your heart racing? I'm not quite sure, but Hamilton's really got this sceptic thinking and questioning. Since most self-help books seem to preach to the converted, this is quite a feat. I await Hamilton's next - my only problem with this one is it wasn't long enough.
