A collaborative effort by Michelle Stigleman and Deborah Van Brunt, Wheelchairs On The Go: Accessible Fun In Florida is a straightforward and very "user friendly" guide to Florida's handicapped-friendly tourist resorts, theme parks, beaches, lodging, fishing, camping, and much, much more. Individual chapters identify the best every regional section of Florida and what it has to offer for the wheelchair-bound vacationer looking for fun and relaxation. Proffering a superbly organized wealth of facts, addresses, phone numbers, and everything else a vacationer needs to know, Wheelchairs On The Go is an excellent resource and would serve as a superb template for developing similar travel guides for other states.

We got this book from the library, read it every night, renewed it once and finally bought it. It has helped our son start getting ready for kindergarten because it describes what he'll be doing there. There are lots of photos and text descriptions of things from using the bathroom (whenever you need to) to fire drills and making new friends. We told the principal at his school about it, and he bought a copy, too.

Kenneth Ruge has written a wonderful, easy to follow guide that is very compelling and hard to put down. Were do I Go From Here? has assisted me and many of my friends in breaking through the barriers of limiting past memories to allow a fresh and effective way to spiritually explore our gifts and talents. This book has also helped me identify those things which I am passonate about and has assisted me in finding ways to apply them in my current job. I feel a renewed ability to look at my career path as a wonderful journey and I am no longer afraid to follow a new path or direction. Ruge's book has taught me to trust myself.

I read this book in the 1980's with wonder and awe at Johnson's ability to shadow box with her feelings of devastation...beginning with when she learned her youngest son was homosexual. Every page of this book brings one to the only conclusion possible to survive....truly a case study on "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger". She leads the reader through... step by step...tiptoeing in a minefield of emotions while being pulled under by the force of quicksand. A struggle of being a mother who is bombarded with grief and wants to quit...but can't.

This little gem tackles some of the great childhood science questions. The simple rhyme scheme makes the information friendlier and more accessible - yet the book never talks down to the kids.

One of the professional reviews complained that this book had vocabulary that was "too sophisticated" for young children. I was annoyed by this. If you dumb everything down to what kids already know, then where will they learn new terms?

My 5-year-old enjoyed reading this book, and I enjoyed listening to her. I found the book charming and informative. For example, I didn't know that when fish are waiting out the winter, "Except for occasional / lake bottom treats / the whole winter long / the fish hardly eats!"

While I do not play golf at all, I can appreciate the humor of golf jokes and when reading this book of golf cartoons, I did a lot of appreciating. It is hilarious in the sick sense, sometimes gross, and other times engaging in sacrilege against the sacred sport of golf. These cartoons are some of the funniest that I have ever seen, independent of subject matter.

Since my "official" retirement from the university 3 years ago I have been confronting many of the questions raised by James Birren in "Where to Go from Here ?" Although his questions are posed more to those around 50 years who are entering the final third or so of their lifespan, they are even more relevant to those who are either recently retired or in imminent "danger" of such a radical change in their life status. Questions such as "Where have I been, How did I get here, Toward what am I headed ?" lead to the ultimate question --- "How would you live your life if you were truly free ?" Along the way to answering this final question, Birren provides a host of useful initially probing questions and various maneuvers, such as constructing "My Lifeline" and "My Life Portfolio" which aid in the confrontation with this final challenge for the remainder of one's life. While many of the questions raised are of the "Yes, of course, what could be more obvious ?" type, they are the very questions that do not occur to many of us without prompting from someone like Birren. It is a book which can be read several times over to gain its full import for one's remaining years.

Rosenthal writes in an easy to understand manner that helped me decide on a holistic health plan. The book's 20 pages of resources were also a big time saver. I have recommended the book to all my friends.I was alsossed that Bernie Siegel also endorses the book.

This is a useful and very entertaining take on the change process. The methods the authors promote are probably too "soft" to stand alone in a change effort, but they are make a great addition any consultant's tool kit.

This book was given to my grandparents as a gift. I found it on the couch, opened it up (intending to read through one or two stories) and didn't set it down until I'd turned the last page. What an inspiring collection of stories! Thank you for the blessing.
