A tremendous resource for estate planningI found that this author was very thorough and that the book addressed the many tax law changes that directly affect estate planning.

Impeccable resource of multi-national inheritance lawsThis loose-leaf treatise compiled by Kluwers contains separate chapters for each country. Each country chapter follows the same format, making comparisons easy. This is a wealth of very difficult to obtain information.

Outstanding for classroom useThis is an outstanding book. I teach a course for undergraduate and graduate business students to teach them how to naviate the gift and estate tax waters. I have used several textbooks that did nothing but confuse most students. This is the most helpful book I have found, and the students generally like it, too, once they learn how to read legal cases. I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to learn more about the laws affective gift and estate taxes.

Good resource for estate planning practitionersThis treatise is a good resource for estate planning practitioners. Henkel wisely covers a very wide range of topics and provides a decent amount of planning advice. This is not a book for a layperson as the amount of estate planning knowledge taught in law school is covered in about 6 (out of 55) chapters. The rest of the treatise is advanced material. Note that Henkel updates this treatise at least annually.
