This book is fantastic -- entertaining, enlightening, and most of all, inspiring. It's an incredible lift for anyone who is feeling frustrated, discouraged or depressed about the current political situation. Much better than Prozac. I loved the user friendly format, stories I could relate to, and the humor, especially the wacky mini-interviews. Buy one for yourself and 10 for your friends. It's that good.

It's easy to feel discouraged. Every day we learn something new about how our government has consistently lied to the American public. It's easy to feel powerless. But after reading this book -- and learning the amazing stories of everyday people around this country who stood up for what they believed in -- I swear, you will be inspired. This book wraps itself around the reader's heart and rocks it gently yet firmly. Rev. Cheryl D. Ward witnesses to the amazing power of her faith, how her life journey provided the fertilizer, the essence of decay, death and loss, out of which she grabbed her life upward into her ministry. The reader knows she speaks from love and plain truth. She speaks from God's participation in her life. She has been there.

This book reads like a series of sermons; each chapter is worth its own prayer and meditation. She speaks to human beings with the voice of an American Black woman, a preacher to every man and woman who wants to live with God in his or her life. Each chapter offers a contemporary, life situation everyone can understand and appreciate. Reverend Cheryl lays out all the good and bad in each situation as she offers her loving perspective on what options God offers one for emerging a better person. Part of her universal appeal is the language of television commercials, situation comedies, Motown lyrics: language that those of us who grew up in the second half of twentieth century America. And, her conversational style makes reading this book a personal, loving conversation with me about my life. Keep some tissues handy for there'll be lots of tears of sorrow, anger and joy while on this testimonial journey.

A quick, enjoyable and incredibly utilitarian read. Trevis, a bonafide expert on sales from the other side of aisle, exposes some secrets that salesman use to coax unlikely buyers into spending more. He walks you through the process of being an expert negotiator even with the pushiest of salesman. Trevis preaches, be polite but firm and above all an educated buyer. Pretty much common sense. But Trevis masterfully puts it all together. Then he goes way beyond that to offer clever tactics for saying "no," advice on how to stoically manage your emotions during a bargaining session, and when to walk away. Loaded with amusing anecdotes of his own buying experiences with his uncle, father-in-law and other assorted family members. You want a guy like Trevis by your side when purchasing a car or some other big-ticket item. Probably not practical since he lives in New Jersey. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw one of my favorite 1960's rarities was finally available on CD! I bought the LP at a collectible records shop about 12 years ago, but simply had to add the CD to my Hayley collection. Quite simply the ultimate teen idol of all time, Hayley was a far better actress than singer, but this album is wonderful for what it is -- a period piece, so 1962. The sound quality is excellent, considering the age of the masters, and I am freshly reminded how good some of the instrumentation is on this classic album. Any Hayley collector contemplating this purchase really should go for it! And the cool thing is that so many people who were never able to find (or afford) the original vinyl can now have this wonderful album!

this book not only reveals the limitations placed on us as blacks in Amerikkka, it also gets youth interested. not unlike John Henrick Clarke's African World Revolution, it isn't a persuasive argument--it shows how there is no doubt we must move up on the oppressor! a quick read, only took me a few days.

What a refreshing little jewel this book is! All the wisdom, tragedy, and humor a regular 12-stepper witnesses in meetings is captured in this succinct, accessible collection. Dr. Ron B has taken the marvelous oral tradition of the 12-step programs and articulated them in an elegantly simple series of delightful morsels. I am buying this book for every recovering person I know.

This is the best book that I have ever read!!! This is a MUST READ book!!!! It is about 8-year-old Jack Lack, an autistic boy who is forced to deal with his unbelieveable parents, and the evil, nasty kids in his classroom at school. The story starts where Jack is forced to go on a month long vacation to visit his relatives because his Aunt Eva (I call her Aunt Evil) is getting married. As the marrige comes closer, strange incidents keep happening (for eg. the power shutting off in the zoo) and no matter what the context is, or no matter how ubsurd the accusation is, Jack is always blamed for being the culprit. Are these incidents happening without warning? Or is someone,

It my favorite book in the world, and the author is now my personal favorite! You are the coolest in the world, James Williams!!! I hope that you will write lots more books, or you will expect me to write you a letter! The info says that it's for Middle School aged students, but it really is good for all ages, and even adults. It's funny, mysterious, cute, and lovable. My favorite part is where the preist gets sick right before the wedding, and so they are forced to use MICROSOFT (R) WEDDING (makers of Microsoft(r) divorce)!! Isn't that a riot? But what I like best about that scene is that at the end of them programming how they want their wedding to be, is says, "Thank you for using Microsoft Wedding. Would you like another wedding?" It's so hilarious.

Also, the artwork on the front is awesome! It portrays the whole mood of the book right away.

One more thing. I think that the most amazing part of all of this is that the author is only 15!!!! It just boggles the mind. Most adults can't write as good as that, and I thought he was like 40!

The books great, everything is clearly written, and I am going to recommend this to everyone that I know!!
And I will say it again, this IS A MUST READ BOOK!!!! You must buy this book! Trust me, you won't regret it.
