Great (as long as you buy it before you get the horse)
I bought this with my yearling in mind. Sad to say alot ofit is of no help to me anymore seeing as how he already knows how to lead , tie, bath and trailer. However, I wish I had it before I got him. I love the way the book is divided into weanling and yearling Chapters. Also, the book is thin and concise, which is really what you need when you want to just get a quick problem solver when you're at the barn. The progression on the lessons is perfect and also helps to check and make sure you're moving along fast enough. Even though my baby already completed alot of these life lessons I looked at the techniques anyway and found them to be very agreeable. None of them included anything rough or mean. This is not the typical horse breaking.

A joy to read
This is another in the American Girls Short Stories series about Molly McIntire, a ten-year-old girl living on the home front during World War 2. When Molly is paired up with her friend Susan to do a report on George Washington, she believes that this will be the best report ever. However, when Susan starts moving the project in new directions, Molly begins to fear that the project will end in disaster. Molly believes that doing things in a different way is always bad, but perhaps different can be better!

My eleven-year-old daughter and I love these American Girls books, and this one is just as good as the others. The author succeeds in driving home her point with a gentleness that makes the story a joy to read, even while you are learning something. The final chapter has directions for making Cherry-Nut Cupcakes, which have little to do with the story, but my daughter enjoyed making them, and I enjoyed eating them. (Actually, as a father, I do hope that they keep up with putting recipes in their new books!)

A nicely illustrated, easy-to-read text
I'm not a student of this subject, but I have taken college courses in chemistry and one in biology. I think this book is an excellent introduction to the human body and it's functions, which is an incredibly fascinating subject. The authors provide an appropriate level of detail for an general, introductory texts. The narrative is supported by wonderful 3-D visuals as well as tables summarzing essential information.

How Senators Represent their States
This book presents the theory, backed by quantitative analysis, that a state's Senators should be considered as a pair to better understand representation in the Senate. In spite of the fact that they don't run against each other and are not even elected at the same time, Senators from the same state compete with each other to gain individual recognition for their legislative achievements. In other words, they join different committees, specialize in different areas, and generally emphasize their differences to compete for individual media coverage. They try to establish unique reputations in order to convince the voters that they are effective legislators. The author concludes that the result of this competition is better representation for states in the Senate. By focusing on different legislative areas, the pair of Senators actually represent a wider group of interests in their state.

I found the arguments in this book persuasive. Although I'm not very familiar with the regression analysis models used, I found the conclusions easy to follow without focusing too much on the math. I also enjoyed the quotes from the more detailed research, including interviews with Senate staff, surveys of newspaper editors, and news articles. In addition, the author provided many specific examples of the contrasting legislative styles and practices within Senate delegations including a discussion of New York's Senators Moynihan and D'Amato and Oregon's Packwood and Hatfield. These details clearly illustrated how Senators from the same state build distinct legislative agendas.

A Christmas romance
Shawna has just opened a Christmas tree business with her brother and his best friend, Chuck. She has been in love with Chuck for ages, but he only thinks of her as a sister! Will the business bring them closer together or further apart? I LOVE the DRESS SHOP SCENE in this book--it is one of the sweetest and most romantic things I have ever read! It's completely innocent in a sexy way

Quirky! Perky! I liked it.
I loved the one-liners. It was like watching an episode of Friends or something. It was one verbal battle after the other. The only thing I hated about it was the fact that it was so short. I can't find another book by this author, but I hope she writes another one soon. SHE IS SO FUNNY!!!!!!

Inspiring account of a man behind the scenes
As a medical student at the Johsn Hopkins University School of Medicine, I found it absolutely facinating to peer into the life of a man who worked side by side with Dr. Blalock to help develop some of the most important advances in surgery of the 20th century. I have seen the portrait that Mr. Thomas describes in the book still hanging in the atrium of the Blalock elevators. I recommend this book to anyone interested in medical or surgical history.

Review by Ashley Cimino California, San Diego
I rate this book 4 stars because, in the end they cut the exiting bit short so you have to get the next comic, which I rate 5 stars. well first Red gets an invatation of challenge from BRUNO ( member of the Elite 4) and doesn't come back. Then 1 month later at Professor Oaks Lab Pika, (Red's Pikachu) comes back Very very very hurt and cut and bruised( I'm suprised he didn't faint) and then Yellow, comes on his Doduo, and barges in Professor Oaks Lab, and then they battle....WhatI find strange about this comic is that Yellow has some power of healing Pokemon and Mind Reading them. I hope you found this helpfull!!!!

Hmmmmmm
Being an advid reader I knew it was just a matter of time before Steve & Steve would be known via the sanitized filter of our collective cultural hubris machine. Still having the founders of Apple held up in this light will produce interesting effects upon Generation's Y (a name I dislike) when they get old enough to read the in depth historys.

This one fact is indisputable, they worked hard!

Beautiful & Creative Designs
Tai Soo Kim's work is wonderfully illustrated in this comprhensive overview of his firm's work. I would advise anyone interested in contemporary public Architecture to take a look at this publication - it's well-worth the purchase. Of the work shown, I'd say I most prefer the home of Tai Soo Kim, to me a modest yet sensitve design that clearly illustrates the enfluences of his previous employer Phillip Johnson, as well as Mies. - A good book...
