You'll Never Be the Same AgainI heard about this book from a friend and decided to buy it. Chapter one, the plight of Nancy and her obsessive relationship with her husband Ron kept me glued to the book. Then I started reading the other case studies which dealt with stalking, sexual addiction and controlling and started to cry. My partner uses so many of these control tactics on me and I never thought about how abusive he was being until I got this book. If you read it, be warned - you may never be the same again!
Changed my life forever!I recently got found out about this book from a friend and all I can say is God Bless you John Moore. For years I had been caught up in a very controlling, abusive relationship with my husband. I never understood why he treated me the way he did until I read several of the case studies from your book. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to find out more about why control happens in relationships. I will treasure this book always and forever!
Spoke to My SoulI read Moore's book and was very impressed with each of the case studies. In some way, each person's story spoke to my own situation in a controlling relationship. There were many times that I had to put the book aside because it hurt too much to keep reading. As I kept turning the pages, I saw all of the patterns in my own life and then the lightbulb went off and I thought, "That's me!" If you are in a controlling relationship or are obsessed with someone else, you have to get this book. It will change your life forever.

Outstanding, Outstanding, Outstanding!My young cousin, whom I'm raising, has wanted to be a police officer since he could talk. After reading THIS book, he wants to be a K-9 Officer. I had to get him a second copy, for him to keep at school. My neighbour owns a day care centre, and has three or four copies for the children; she says that they're fascinated by the book, and it's a great spur to reading.
The photography is outstanding, and Officer Matsik makes for a terrific representative of the Shaker Heights Police Dept. A very positive book, which should be in the library of every child.
A Great Read!This book has given my daughter an understanding of the job I do as a K-9 handler in a way that makes reading fun for her. I have chosen this book for our donations to area school that I visit to enhance their library.
This will be a favoriteA wonderful 'grandfather' book. My younger grandchildren want me to read it over and over. I enjoy the well written story and the photographs are excellent. Actually, all ages can appreciate this quality book.

SICK SICK SICK, WONDERFULLY SICK!This book is beyond sick and distrubing (especially the detailed descriptions of the main character's post mortem [nec]romances). It is also one of the funniest, sharpest, wittiest books I have ever read. Love him or hate him, the main character's observation of the living is just as detailed and on the money as those of the dead. This book is not for the week-stomached. If you like the dark humor of "Six Feet Under", you'll dig this novel. Cannot recommend it enough!
"Silent Partners": Eccentrically Hilarious ComedyDon't let the cover of this book fool you! This COMEDIC novel is the "bizarrest-of-the-bizarre" and is the only book I have ever read that has actually made me LAUGH OUTLOUD. With Warren Piece (pun intended) as the Protagonist, "Silent Partners" is a guaranteed escape from the fast-paced world of our everyday life. Put your nose in it and read it.
From a civilized and contented reader!It is difficult to describe all the reasons one might be taken in by this story about necrophilia, but it is a wonderful read indeed. Insightful and hilarious, creepy and serious all at the same time. The protagonist, Warren Piece (pun intended, like many of the other names, puns and pranks in this book), pushes and pulls the reader in his quest for loving the dead. Imagine a cross between Ignatius O'Reilly from Confederacy of the Dunces, Ben Flesh from The Franchiser, a dash of Dorothy Parker and a frolic through Freud's Civilization and Its Discontents. I love this book!

This is an outstanding resource, and should be on every partner of a survivor's shelf.
healing from sexual abuseThe book shocked me when I started reading it. It was as if I was reading about myself through the whole book. One of the chapters that covered suicide thoughts made me feel like I was not alone. Reading this book gave myself and my husband a better understanding of what to expect when healing from sexual abuse.
I can't say enough about this book. It's not only well written and very easy to understand but it is written by someone who has been through the healing process with his partner.

Lost SleepWhat a great book! I didn't want to stop reading so I stayed up too long at night and lost sleep. I enjoyed getting to know the characters and also the element of business mixed in with romance. It keeps you guessing up to the end. This book would make a great movie!

Must ReadSilent Partners is an outstanding novel! The characters and plot make it a must read. I couldn't put it down and I didn't want it to end. It starts with a bang and keeps the reader guessing all the way to the end. Anyone that likes a great suspense thriller and a good love story will love Silent Partners. I can't wait for the next novel by E. Jeffett

AWESOME BOOK! TWO THUMBS UP!!!!If you're a HUGE Diagnosis Murder Fan then this book is for you. This book was like watching it on television again. You can see all the characters and all the emotions they are going through. Great to have our old friends back again for another ride. Now we can read what the characters are actually thinking. This 319-paged book is an exhaustive compilation of both ideas and pieces of advice. Its logical arrangement ensured that all those crucial information remain dynamic. This is an important text for anyone who is into (or tends to go into) any form of corporate alliance or similar association.
Every important ingredient required for building, improving, and nourishing partnerships is in this book. Most of them were illustrated with examples.
This is a sound Management book. It is all about winning. Almost perfect! But I did wish that it provided clues on how to constructively repair a partnership that has been damaged by egoistic tendencies.

New TerritoryLewis has ventured into governance territory where few have trod--for example, asking how to structure boards of various types of alliances. To my knowledge, no other book has this type of material, which makes this book an excellent choice for corporate directors. (I am familiar with this audience, because I am the Editor-in-Chief of Director's Monthly, the official newsletter of the National Association of Corporate Directors, Washington, DC).
Practical and Profitable WisdomThe basic premise is obvious: There can be no solid"partnerships" without trust. As the subtitle indicates, Lewisexplains "how companies build mutual trust and win together." It is imperative that individuals be worthy of trust. They must earn it and then sustain it with behavior based on core values. We all know that values derive from character (or the lack thereof), that values determine attitudes (both negative and positive), and that such attitudes are revealed by behavior.
My guess is that those in greatest need of this book will encounter the greatest difficulty when attempting to follow Lewis' suggestions. "Trust is at the heart of the knowledge economy....Rather than being a matter of blind faith, trust must be cone step at a time. Further, building trust between organizations is all-encompassing. It involves their people, politics, priorities, cultures, and structures." Organizations become untrustworthy when those within those organizations are untrustworthy. Over the years, all of us have been victimized by fraudulent claims, intentional misrepresentations, corrupt "politics", "a hidden agenda", broken promises, etc. If trust is to be built between organizations, there must be interpersonal as well as intrapersonal relationships based on trustworthiness.
Lewis's book is divided into three parts: Trust Leads to High Performance, Alliances with Key Partner, and Tools for Trust: A Guide for Practitioners. He follows a step-by-step process within each part, providing an abundance of observations, suggestions, and caveats. Who will derive the greatest value from this book? Here are my nominees:
1. Decision-makers who have the authority (not simply the responsibility) for their organization's cultural transformation.
2. Owners/CEOs of start-ups who are committed to building trust as well as sales and profits.
3. Those involved in M&A initiatives whose due diligence includes evaluation of cultural capital as well as material assets.
One of the book's most valuable sections (Chapter VII in the Third Part) summarizes "actions that establish trust-building habits." Note the use of the word "habit." Lewis is quite correct when insisting that time and effort are required to build and then sustain trust. Conversely, trust can be quickly compromised by a single act betrayal.
In this final section, the "trust-building habits" are classified as follows: Trust Conditions; Recruiting, Training, and Rewards; Management Behavior; and Other Activities. Once you have read the book, selected what is most appropriate to your own organization, and then begun the difficult task of implementation, it would be a good idea to re-read Chapter VII in the Third Part. The counsel Lewis provide will help you formulate your own tasks and objectives within the framework of the eight trust conditions and related practices.
If those within your organization are unwilling and/or unable to make a sincere and steadfast commitment to building and then sustaining trust, find another organization. And consider this fact: The companies which dominate their respective industries are the same companies which are rated the best companies to work for. Coincidence? I don't think so...and neither does Lewis.

Well done re-enactment with some sizzle!One of the most interesting pieces of history ever. This was easy to listen to and very well put together. At times I felt as though I was in the hallway with Monica and Bill. Not really dirty, but very true-to-life. A must read for everyone.

Fantastic audio of Starr's reportKenneth Starr's report is brought to life by this credible audio oif the details of his report.The narrators made this tape very easy to listen to. Both the narrator and Monica made listening to this tape very enjoyable and the lengthy diction was easily comprehended. The quotes that were directly read by Monica gave the tape an interesating angle to the story and the actual details of the report.Thisd was a great follow up to volume one. It was very easy to follow and passed the time driving in the car. I can't wait for more of the materials on this case to come out on audio. This is a must buy for anyone interested in history!

"Work marriage"SCRIPT PARTNERS can easily be expanded to a larger audience. In gathering information from other outstanding writing teams and their own experiences in working together, Claudia & Matt have captured the essence of the creative/collaborative relationship. Within the first few pages of the book, I was transported to an earlier experience in my career with another type of "work marriage"- co-therapy. The parallel between writing teams and co-therapy is quickly apparent. Both assist in the development of their characters/clients; both find themselves caught up in their own issues; both misread their character/client and discover that they are going down the wrong path; both experience the sadness and joy of discovery and human emotion. And (SCRIPT PARTNERS p.1) "we both know on some level that we could do this by ourselves...we both could, but we're better together and prefer it that way."
As a therapist, if you've never experienced the joys of co-therapy or found solutions for the struggles, read this book. Claudia & Matt have given us a map that guides our partnerships through the ups and downs of a "work marriage". Don't miss it, it's an insightful, humorous, and refreshing book.

A great read!This book is a great read. I've looked at a lot of screenwriting how-to books, and this is one of the best. Partly because it doesn't read like a how-to book. Instead, it just concentrates on some really good interviews with scriptwriting partners, including legends and newcomers (they've got a "filmography" in the back of the book to help separate out who's who). It's not just for people considering writing with partners - it's for anyone who's interested in what it's like to write professionally. And it's funny. There are terrific stories about the unusual ways in which writers brainstorm and create scripts together (one team even used a Ouija board to contact the original subject of their historical drama - establishing a script writing team with the dead!), and about how writers deal with disagreements between themselves as well as the studios. And the business material is presented about as clearly as any book I've seen on the subject. If you want to know what it's like to live and work as a screenwriter, this book tells you.
Jumpstart Your CreativityThis book exceeded my expectations and helped me discover better writing through partnership. I'd previously attempted screenwriting with a partner (with limited success), but had no model to base the partnership on. As a result of the interviews and examples the book provides, I was more confident that I could find a collaborator whose style more appropriately complimented my own. Needless to say, I found a screenwriting partner and through trial and error (with the book as a guide) we explored different styles of working, finally settling into a routine that has not only helped our writing improve, but has increased our productivity by leaps and bounds.
I highly recommend that you pick up this book if you find your writing hits a dead end ? even if you don?t, it's the only book of its kind, a great read, and definitely worth a look.
