This was a great book! It had really good shark facts!, like: Sharks are made out of cartlige, blue sharks eat squid, cookie-cutter sharks glow green when there in the dark, weird things that sharks have ate, and much, much more! This book tells about many diffrant kinds of sharks. This book is worth buying!

My four year old is really interested in sharks and this little book turned out to be a good intro. It's short and there are 1-2 sentences per page with fairly easy words so it was easy for him to memorize and now "read" i.e., recite to me. Highly recommended for a young pre-reader.

A very good book for both black history and plant science. The book is nicely written and allows the reader to get involved in George Washington Carver's life. Highly recommended.

This is a great beginner book for the Snail Lover in your house! My three year old loves it!

This little book has beautiful illustrations and simple, descriptive text that makes it interesting and fun to read. Although intended as an early reader, my four year old LOVES this book, and I have read it over and over to him. A few days before we found it, we watched a real spider catch a fly in a web, which really made the book come alive for him. In this book, a spider builds a web, catches a fly for her lunch and catches a wasp and releases it. A male spider taps on her web, and we are told that the spiders mate. Later, the spider lays her eggs, and we are told that she will soon die. At the end, her eggs hatch, and the wind carries the tiny babies off to build webs of their own. Not only do children learn about spiders with this book, but they also are presented with the concept that life is a natural cycle. This book would be perfect for first graders who are doing a unit on spiders, or for families who are observing spiders at home.

This is a fine alt. history novel, and a first rate novel even for mainstream readers (i.e. not alt. hist. fans). The story is set in 1941 after the successful German invasion of England, the background of the plot. (This is not a military history such as McArthur's War.) The hero, a police inspector, is investigating a murder in Shepherds Bush, a section of London. Thru' this he is led into an intrigue which eventually involves the attempted escape from England of King George and an American raid on the British atomic laboratory at Brindle Sands.

This is a cute kids' story about a boy named Jerry and his little, cute kitten. When the kitten goes up a tree, there is concern all around for it. As stories go, it has a happy ending that kids will enjoy. The illustrations (black and yellow) are really great! Every kid who ever wanted a pet will love this book!

My 2 year old son and I first found this book at the library, and I am now buying him his very own copy. This is a fun story with a lot of repetition, which toddlers love. The first part of the book involves a series of naughty episodes by the cat with the phrase "That bad, bad,cat, his family said" after each one. Then the cat runs away, the family looks everywhere for him, and, of course, he finally returns. The moral: no matter what he did, his family still loved him. My son recites the "bad, bad, cat" part on cue, and starts crying "I miss him, I miss him!" as soon as the cat runs out the door. It is just adorable.

This book fulfills all my requirements for a toddler's book. It is short, interactive, repetitive, and has a theme he can relate to.

Written for children in grades 2-3, this is an excellent book about success and how hard it is to be successful. Despite all his talent, Tiger practices hard, often hitting as many as 1000 balls in a day. He also changed his diet, eating more healthy foods rather than those filled with fat. This is one of the most important lessons that children can earn. When they see a baseball player hit a home run, a basketball player make a shot or a golfer hit that great shot, children need to know that the player has done that thousands of times in practice.
Tiger Woods is one of the best role models for children today and I strongly recommend that children read this book.

I liked this book. It was very funny when the Blobs turned Lydia (the class know it all) into a girl blob! Great book for kids who are just starting to read chapter books.
