My mother purchased this book for me at a thrift shop when I was 3 years old. It was my favorite book from the day she brought it home. My favorite story was the one about "Peter Pup" and "Gretchen". All of the stories are so much fun to read and listen to. They are wonderful stories for preschoolers because they are fun yet short. The book is older and not extremely educational, but who says books can't just be fun!

During Gamal Abdel Nasser's difficult three-year period between the Six-Day War and his death, he employed Farid as the secretary-general of the Presidency of the United Arab Republic. Farid joined Abdel Nasser at most of his meetings and took minutes. He kept hold of those documents and now, a quarter-century later, has made them publicly available; these startling transcripts both round out the character of a charismatic figure and go far to setting the record straight on his final years.

The meetings reveal many aspects of Abdel Nasser's rule: we can cover three here. The Six Day War clearly traumatized him. The Middle East Quarterly has already published (March 1995, p. 93) excerpts from Abdel Nasser's candid repudiation of his own regime and his remarkable call for more democracy. This resulted from a deep shock: "I can't forget what I went through during the first few days after the war in June. I felt intensely, indescribably bitter."

Relations with the Soviets turn out to have been as tense as between Mafia dons, with each side constantly maneuvering to best the other, sometimes through trickery. As for Abdel Nasser's general approach to foreign affairs, he summed it up in February 1970 in advice proffered to his protégé, Mu`ammar al-Qadhdhafi: "try to work with more than one side and with more than one state so that you will guarantee an international balance and so that all of them will be competing to establish good relations with you."

The best book so far i have read on Nonlinear Dynamics. From the best of the best.

This book starts with a memo from Ms. Brandt who's asking her class to write a report on a subject that is of special interest to you. What you are reading is Carrie Rosen's report "The Pilgrims and Me." Carrie decided to write about the pilgrims after a family trip to Plimoth Plantation in Massachusetts.

This book makes the Pilgrims seem so interesting, has some actual photos Plymouth rock, a guide dressed as a pilgrim from the Plimoth Plantation, a ship called Mayflower II which is a copy of the real Mayflower, a pilgrims & Indian's house. There are lots of cool "kid drawn" pictures, a cross section of the Mayflower, and a lot of interesting facts. Did you know that Peregrine White was the 1st baby (boy) born in America, that only Native American Indian men came to the 1st Thanksgiving the woman and children did not come, and that it wasn't one day or dinner but was actually 3 days long and that the Pilgrims did not really care about spelling, they'd spelled Plimoth lots of different ways. The book also talks about Native American and Thanksgiving. Also included in the book is an easy recipe for Cranberry Sauce and a really cute hand print turkey to do for as an Thanksgiving art project.

This would be an awesome book for 1st and 2nd graders. It really makes history come alive and is very interesting and not boring like most history books are done for children.

My 7 year old nephew enjoyed this book, as did his 82 year old grandmother who read it with him. He received an "A" for his book report on "Planets" he turned in at school.

These poems, written by some of the greats, are the right forms of prose to interest young children. They evoke simple images that are well within the skill set of the elementary school child. Some examples are:

*) Minnie and Winnie by Alfred, Lord Tennyson
*) Christmas Bells by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

If you are looking for a book of more serious poems for children, then there is nothing better than this one.

If I could actually substantiate the way I felt when I first read this book, I think I would really belittle It. The Knowledge conveyed in the few pages of this marvellous Work stands as a remarkable supplement to the 3-Volume Work, In the Light of Truth, the Grail Message by the same Author. This book really covers all reasonably intelligent questions that assail most humans. The Author handles these questions with a firm conviction in the Word that He has brought to all mankind. Therein lies the Light of Truth!

Sarah Hughes is the best ice skater I know since Kristina Yamaguchi. I am glad she won the 2002 Olympics. She is now my favorite ice dancer in my whole life.Someday I want to be a famous ice skater like Sarah Hughes. Also I want Sarah to go to the World Olympics in 2003. She is the Best in the world.

This book gives a beautiful insight into Sathya Sai Baba and His life from a western point of view. Ron and Peggy have explained in an easy-to-understand style, the real Sai Baba and why He is here on earth for all of us. The authors were devotees of Sai Baba for many years and their devotion shows in the feeling they have put into writing this marvellous book. This is a must for first time devotees of Sri Sathya Sai Baba and those needing confirmation of His Pure Love for mankind.
