Wurthnow comes with a formidable reputation and he certainly is no slouch in this book which reviews, condenses and depicts
the results of many studies of the "post baby boomer" generation(s), sticking with people between the 20s and 45 years of
age. He debunks some casual and widely held myths (e.g., how one generation appears to differ from another) and concentrates
on the pretty hard numbers that track changes in the life styles of young people. . . and their consequences for churches.
This book seems shaped as a resource for pastors, but almost anyone dealing with the young will get a lot out of it. Well
worth the price and the read.

After reading Smith and Denton's book, Soul Searching, with its great statistics on teens and faith, I wanted a book that
was similar with information on young adults. I needed facts, not feelings, and this book offers that. I find it fascinating
and easy reading, though I must admit I don't study every table carefully! It has been quite useful in my thesis work with
young adults and faith.

"Anatomy of a Business Plan" was a great help to me. I had no idea how to write a business plan and needed one before I could
go to a lender. The book led me step-by-step through the whole thing and I developed an excellent business plan. In fact,
the lender was very impressed with the quality of the plan and has assured me that getting my loan will be no problem. I
am happy to recommend this valuable book to other readers."

A sound and practical business plan is a fundamental necessity for any entrepreneurial endeavor if it is to succeed in today's
volatile and competitive marketplace regardless of the goods or services it offers. Now in a newly revised, expanded, and
updated seventh edition, "Anatomy Of A Business Plan" by business planning expert, speaker, consultant, and educator Linda
Pinson is a complete 'how to' instructional manual and guide to creating and maintaining a viable business regardless of the
size of the company or corporation. Pinson covers all aspects of the business plan from the cover sheet to appendices. Illustrative
examples are provided for the executive summary, the individual plan elements, financial documentation, supporting documentation,
and tax information as a part of business planning. Of special note is the chapter devoted to business planning for a nonprofit
operation. Enhanced with chapters on business software, financing, and resource lists and links relevant to creating a business
plan, "Anatomy Of A Business Plan" also provides four real-life examples in the form of appendices, has blank forms and worksheets
that the reader can copy and use, and offers a glossary of business and financial terms. Anyone planning to establish a business
of any kind would greatly benefit from a careful reading of Linda Pinson's "Anatomy Of A Business Plan".

several careful reads for it to "sink in." But this is definitely one of the TOP books I'd ever suggest to a friend interested

I have to give this 5 stars because the book is just as the title says it is. It is about what Jason learned and lost trading
the Chicago Futures Markets, so no one should be surprised or disappointed.
"The Art of the Trade" part of the title should really be "The Art of Jason's Trade", but that is ok. One thing about Jason is he has no lack of ego. If ego were energy, this guy's ego could power the entire city of Chicago, but that actually makes this book a little more interesting. To see and feel his ego boldly and unashamedly served up and spatula-spanked point blank right into your face is kind of entertaining.
He has had an interesting career with brokers and he shares not only the experiences he has had, but his thoughts and feeling towards those experiences and how it affected him personally and emotionally. Anyone that has traded for any length of time can relate to many of the emotional turmoils that this business can manifest.
Don't buy this book expecting a "how to" book on trading. He does have some verbiage alluding to some trading theory, but again, like his other book, he doesn't really give you anything you can use. For example, he tells the reader to figure out where the loser is in any given trade situation, but doesn't really tell us how to do that - which is actually the most important part. It's like telling us the secret to trading is to buy low and sell high, but if he doesn't tell us how to do that, then it is really a worthless statement.
So if you are interested in reading about the career and personal thoughts of a trader, and would like a little insight into how bizarre the world of brokers can be, and how it has affected this trader through good times and bad times, then this book is for you.

This book is monumental and it will lead to a paradigm shift in the way you look at trading and conduct technical analysis.
As the author stated in this book "trading becomes effortless and a way of life (borrowing his words "meaning of life")."
It's just an incredible transformation process you will go through as you study this book and finally get his points. During this transformation you will look at market and price movements more objectively, subsequently, to exploit market volatility.
The author is brutally honest and straight forward in telling his story, which I appreciate immensely. There're sections of the book you may find irrelavant to what you are seeking, please (PLEASE) don't let it or the author's sarcasm distract your search for gems in this book. He knows what he is talking about, he has the "secret", and he is the master of this trade. Respect it, appreciate it, and read, re-read, and study this book until you understand and grasp his point of view - they are priceless!
I am eternally grateful to the author for sharing his journey of life in this book. Trading is not about techniques or price, it's a MIND thing! Trading is not hard, it's US - who we are - that makes it hard!
Thank you, Jason!!!
PS. You can also google and read his interviews, columns, and broadcasts on the web. I find them helpful.

For beginner astrology students, this book is a fantastic place to start learning the art of forecasting. Funny and informative
at the same time. The book is geared more toward being a primer so it does not go into great detail in many areas, but it
is effective in the areas that are covered. And the light-hearted approach improves its readability 110%.

My six-year-old grandson was diagnosed with autism in September 2006. Since that time, I have devoured dozens of books and
hundreds of articles on autism. Just when I was sure I couldn't read anything new, I picked up The Autism Trail Guide. I can
honestly say that it has helped me more than any book I've read. Ellen Notbohm's writing is inspiring, and she gives me strength
and hope every day to help Jake.

As a mom of two kids with autism, I read every book about autism that I can get my hands on. By far, Ellen's books are the
best out there. Since The Autism Trail Guide is a collection of essays, the book is perfect for busy parents and educators
who find themselves with only 15 minutes here and there throughout the day to read. It's a very easy read, not at all "clinical"
like so many books on the subject. The book is the perfect mixture of information about the nature of autism (including challenging
behaviors and sensory issues) and insights that can only come from a parent dealing with autism day in and day out. I recommend
this book (and all of Ellen's other books) to anyone that loves, teaches or otherwise cares for a child on the autism spectrum.

This novel deals with the Rapture and the next few days
after it. Quite a few other authors have been writing about
that lately. The difference is that this book is one of
the better ones! It is very very gripping and as real as todays headlines.
One friend that I loaned it too, wasn't a Christian,
but he enjoyed it. He told me it started out like any regualr
novel, but as he got further along he said he felt like an earthquake
was starting. He told me he felt like the Rapture and the resulting
chaos was actually happening.
This novel first came out in 85' long before the Left Behind series
and I happen to like it a lot more. I loved it back then and I still love it now.
My only regret is that the author never wrote a sequel!

Believable. Especially if you're one of the ones looking for His return. This book is better than the "Left Behind" series.
I just wish Mr. Betzer, if he's still alive, would come up with a sequel. I truly enjoyed reading it and did not put the
book down until I finished it. It's mind boggling to imagine the President of the United States as the false prophet of the
Antichrist. The Rapture is a subject of much controversy even among religious circles and one that is either shrugged off
as fairy tales, as Mr. Betzer describes it in his book, or one that is just so impossible to believe in that it's better to
just ignore it altogether. For us Christians who believe Christ will return, it's a reality.
So suspensful it will leave you on the edge of your seat!!!

I never thought of cultures being shaped by mindsets before I read this book. Now that we are in an anti terrorist war I can
see that mind sets plays the major role of the terrorists. So deeply intrenched is their mind set that they would rather die
than give it up.
The world we live in today calls for us to understand civilizations as we go into the future and prepair to deal with unbeandablle mind sets.

Keith Chandler's book is a fascinating read. While his "Mindset Theory" is a new and refreshing look at the civilisations
of the world, it is based on a lifetime of scholarly research.
It is written in an easy conversational style and I especially liked not having to flip to the end of the chapter, or the back of the book for footnotes.
Chandler's "Mindset Theory" opens up a whole new way of looking at various cultures, societies, and religious faiths.
"Beyond Civilization" should be required reading for every student in philosophy, history, or religion.
It will be a basic text in the World Religions Course I will be directing next spring.

This is an excellent read, especially if you like highbrow ideas. Reminds me of Ken Wilber. The author presents original
thinking on a grand scale and his crisp style makes a real page-turner out of what could have been a musty-dusty history lesson.
I must note that my own background in history is not sufficient to dispute any of the author's findings so perhaps a historian
will write a review. I don't know when I have enjoyed a book more.

Both of the authors are Fellows in the American Academy of Nursing and are the outstanding leaders in nursing that that indicates.
There are 12 well qualified contributing authors and 22 storytellers who are leaders in nursing administration and education.
There are 23 chapters of need- to-know information about such important topics as theories of administration, legal and ethical
issues, caring, communications, team development, leadership, coaching, technology, finances and marketing, personnel development,
relationships within and outside of the organization, regulation and quality control, and future of nursing administration.
Chapters start with an appropriate and inspiring quote. Chapters have subtitle headings for easy identification of the content.
They are supplemented with boxes, figures, and tables to help illustrate the content. The more traditional content of the
chapter ends with a summary, key points, a literature box reviewing an important publication and contemplations to consider
application of the content. That is followed by stories contributed by leaders in nursing. The chapter reference list is at
the end of all of that. The leader stories are a unique and strong part of this book. The book was written to build on the
foundations in Leading and Managing in Nursing but can be used as a supplement to any nursing administration or health care
administration book. It is appropriate for graduate nursing students.

The book explains the factors that leads to the increasing power of patients over providers. With some examples of pioneers
adopting to the changes, you can have an idea where the future lie for providers.
Personally, I think this book is especially helpful for providers. As or consumers, they will experience these changes first hand within their daily lives.

This excellent treatise on the possible future path of Managed Care is a benchmark guide for all of us who are involved in
healthcare. Of particular interest are the four examples of "Scenario Planning" which are offered. The reader may challenge
oneself by imagining additional, or alternative, scenarios; particularly in view of the current stock market volatility as
well as a new national presidential adminstration.

This is an excellent piece of analysis that looks at where we are, how we got here and where we are likely to go. The authors
have done a fantastic job of outlining seven major factors that impact the health care industry (consumerism, public policy,
information technology, etc.), and the four scenarios at the end of the book provide a great framework for doing your own
crystal ball gazing. This book sort of picks up where Paul Starr left off. A must read for any health care executive who
plans to remain an executive in health care over the next 5 - 10 years.
