Some of the pictures don't accurately show the body language like I would expect them too. Also, pictures are duplicated in the book for various body languages. Would be nice to have different pictures so as not to confuse the student. But I do think it will be helpful for my daughter to use along with her counselor.

Speaks with authorityReview Date: 2001-06-13
The only thing I really took issue with was Murphy's habit of trying to predict the size and extent of price moves, rather than sticking with more general observations regarding momentum and overall movement.
Looking for something to happen before there is evidence of its arrival is a dangerous game for technical players, methinks. To devotees of the approach, a friendly warning -- be careful not to become a fundamentechnicalyst. Meaning, always keep in mind that effective technical analysis highlights probability rather than makes predictions.
Since I just made up the word for this review, I'll now throw in the definition: A "fundamentechnicalyst" is one who makes predictions, just like the run of the mill fundamental analyst does... except the fundamentechnicalyst is making predictions based on technicals -- chart patterns and various indicators, rather than supply and demand, weather, politics, etcetera.
In giving advance notice of how the movie is going to end, the approaches have similarity in their folly. The answer (in my opinion) is to not say, "aha! because of pattern ABC, result XYZ must now occur...."
Instead, `tis better to say, "aha! because of pattern ABC, there is a favorable probability that XYZ could occur. But I recognize this is an odds game which means 1) it is normal, reasonable and expected for me to be wrong a portion of the time (the odds say so), and B) I must have a risk point, just in case this is "one of those occurrences" where the outcome falls against me.
The difference in the thought process is subtle but critical. A hard prediction locks you in, creates a psychological commitment, brings your ego into the game, and threatens to screw up your mindset in general. Whereas if you recognize trading is essentially nothing but an odds game, then flexibility and peace of mind have a better shot of remaining intact.
One of the hidden gems of this book was an excellent outline of why the contrarian method works. I don't want to give away Murphy's goods here, so I will just say that he points out a few very interesting reasons why it is natural for the majority to be wrong at turning points, and it is not simply because the masses lack trading ability or intelligence (though that is a factor, of course; the lumbering beast called Crowd is known for strong back and weak mind.)
To sum up, buy this book if you are new to technicals, if you want to brush up on your knowledge, or if you just want a handy reference. But be wary of the prediction trap. Keep your understanding of probability and odds intact.

Theory U: A means for a better future ... if we open our eyes to it Review Date: 2008-05-25
To a non-professional like myself, the completeness of the social theory of the U field seems to be somewhat comparable to Darwin's theory of Evolution, Maxwell's equations of electrodynamics, or Einstein's theory of general relativity just to mention some well know (by name :). The common characteristics that I have in mind is the connection of studies by different scientists, explaining all earlier observations in one whole theory and bringing our understanding to a higher level.
Once having understood Scharmer's numerous new ideas of social technology, I realized that for many modern (Western?) companies, mastering the difficulties of empathy is one important next step towards true innovation. That is innovation comprehended as creating what is needed, which is not necessarily what is wanted.
This book applies to managers, but not being a manager myself I still had more benefit from this treasury of thaughts than from many other books that I've ever read.
Leading is not just a question of management. It is also a question of leading your life in the direction, which is meant for you. You find that direction by listening to and acting from the source of your true self that needs to develop. Your motivation to do so is the wonderful idea that what is truly good for you is good for your local environment, for your society, and for the world.
I whish you a pleasant journey through the U field.

We have learned too late of the gross contamination of our food supply, the 70% of processed foods on our super market shelves that have GMO ingredients, the vast plantations of GMO soybean in Brazil, the open air testing of experimental pharma-drugs and GMOs in Hawaii, the ever more hyperbolus corn fields in our own midwest. These tragedies of monoculture are the result of a deliberate process carried out before our time, and before our involvement in the food system.
While a lot of these biotech developments occurred before my generation got involved in sustainable agriculture, the approval for these technologies and the intellecutal property rights precedents occured at the highest levels. There is a wonderful French film that just came out about Monsanto ( The World According to Monsanto) with a clip of George Bush senior touring the Monsanto research facility and saying "Well if you have any trouble with the FDA let me know, we're in the DEREG business."
With current talk about the 'spike' in food prices funding development for yet another round of "Roundup Ready" crops, with unprecedented hunger pangs, and the recent focus of the Gates Foundation on Biotech for Africa-- what better time to learn what we can from the corrupt history of the Agro-bioscience industry. False promises, superweeds, hegemony and monoculture, lets stop the proliferation of GMO agriculture as soon as we can.

Lessons of HealingReview Date: 2006-03-21
Each chapter contains a "transcript" of what that spirit communicated to the author - regarding its experiences on earth and The Other Side, as well as the lessons they learned. This is then followed up by information provided by a guide &/or angel. This additional information tends to clarify or expand on the original spirit statements.
Wonderful insights regarding such things as fear & forgiveness are also included. We are reminded that we create our own fears, and so it's only us that can choose to take away their power; and that forgiveness of ourselves and others is to key to living a joy-filled life.
Overall, I found this book to be an easy, interesting, insightful read. I would highly recommend it to anyone interested in after-life communications & spirituality.
A beautiful guide to face our ultimate fear.Review Date: 2001-12-01
To my knowledge, no one has solved the great mystery of the afterlife with absolute, undeniable credibility, and until that happens we have to use our own good judgment about whom we can trust on this essential subject. I trust Lily Fairchilde. I have worked with her personally on many occasions over the past 20 years, and have never found reason to doubt that she is the real deal. Lily is definitely unique; I think maybe half human and half spirit guide.
And Voices from the Afterlife is a beautifully written, highly credible reassurance for people like me, who are definitely human and who need continued reassurance that life goes on. Thanks, Lily, for the Serenity you have given me.

Written by the greatest stock trader of all timeReview Date: 2007-09-09
I love this book and his previous one because he gives specifics, with dates and amounts of stocks he purchased and when he sold. His books are text books for stock traders. In this book he discusses how brokers and tip services make money off each generation of suckers in Wall Street and how to keep from being ripped off. I agree with his point that if your broker or the tip service were so great they would be following their own advice and making a killing in the market instead of working and selling you services and information for a few dollars. It is very important to be very careful in the Wall Street casino and not getted ripped off.
This book goes into much more detail than his other book and explains exactly how to use his techno-fundamentalist system.
His method of stock investment:
TECHNICAL-
Only buy stocks that have established solid price boxes and have moved through them consistently.
Buy stocks that move into higher boxes on increased volume.
Only buy stocks breaking into all time new highs after coming out of a previous solid price box.
Set on stop buy orders to enable you to buy the stock as it breaks out of the box into the next one. This is where the big moves happen.
FUNDAMENTAL-
Trade stocks based on there capitalation. This will determine proper volume and price movement due to number of outstanding shares.
Buy stocks in strong industry groups.
Buy stocks that have the greatest expectations of future earnings.
Even though this book has not been recommended by Willim O'Neal it is an excellent companion book for followers of the CAN SLIM method of stock trading. Darvas encourages us to bet on the fastest horse with the best record not to worry so much about the kind of hay it eats or spectators opinions. I have made $1,000's of dollars using these methods and you will to. This book is a jewel in the ocean of stock trading books.

Answers questions you may be afraid to ask...Review Date: 2008-09-17
Author Pelc, writing with years of experience working for bankruptcy trustee's offices, strongly suggests bankruptcy should not be undertaken without a specialist attorney and his text is in no way a self-filing guide for debtors. His book does help to answer the reader's initial questions and explores in detail the revisions, changes and consequences of the 2005 bankruptcy bill, the BAPCPA (Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention & Consumer Protection Act of 2005).
The text, in clear, concise language, provides a framework for the emotionally difficult process of bankruptcy and guides the reader from the initial decision to file through to the methods to manage finances after discharge.
Successfully staying positive about a difficult situation, When you have to file for bankruptcy will certainly make the process less intimidating for filers. Additional encouragement is provided by the case studies highlighting real world advice from consumers who have experienced the process of bankruptcy and from persons in the bankruptcy profession.
Unquestionably feel better about bankruptcy processReview Date: 2008-09-15
Pelc's book is a step-by-step analysis of the bankruptcy proceedings, beginning with a look at how you found yourself in this situation and asking if this is the right course of action. If it is, he then takes you through the paperwork you will need to collect before speaking to an attorney and the extensive forms a case requires. He encourages that you have access to the Internet while reading, and there are several helpful links available if you want to use his book as the manual for your own filing.
The most noticeable aspect of this book is the almost comforting tone Pelc takes. He seems aware that anyone who picks up this book is likely in serious financial trouble, repeatedly assuring them that he is not going to point any fingers at them for being in the situation. He also doesn't try to overwhelm with the steps for rebuilding your life after the case is complete, breaking it into sections and offering simple suggestions such as changing your grocery habits and charting your daily expenses. Alternatives to bankruptcy are suggested, but he makes sure to point out that nothing is a cure-all and the problems cannot simply disappear by shuffling your assets around.
No one ever wants to go through the bankruptcy procedure, but if you find yourself in a bind "When You Have to File for Bankruptcy" serves as an invaluable reference to get it started. It educates you without making you feel stupid and makes a very conscious effort to separate the process from the natural tension and fear it produces.
helpful, easy readReview Date: 2008-09-09
Good pacing and concise, complete information.Review Date: 2008-09-09
In addition to being a pragmatic how-to guide, When You Have to File for Bankruptcy also contains up-to-date resources outlining the recent and often confusing changes in the complex world of bankruptcy law. Whil Pelc strongly advises the reader to enlist the help of a qualified attorney, those determined to go it alone will find this book an invaluable resource.
The book moves at a pace that is manageable without offending the average person's intellect, and offers the added (albeit unnecessary) benefit of mildly amusing photographs and a vaguely pertinent quote at the start of each chapter. Pelc starts the book off with guidelines designed to help the reader to decide whether or not to actually declare bankruptcy, and then moves on through the various steps involved in necessarily painstaking detail. While Pelc's style does not distinguish itself for its literary merit, it does accomplish the task of making the entire bankruptcy process accessible in layman's terms.
A good, solid book packed with considerations key to understanding the entire processReview Date: 2008-12-12

A Must read for people who care about the future............Review Date: 2008-07-04
Game OverReview Date: 2008-06-27
No prediction can be set in stone, but he does claim to see our most possible futures, if we don't change our ways. The future is that up to 80 percent of us will be dead within a few years. The unenlightened dead will end up being dark spirits that cannot reincarnate in bodies anymore (sounds a little Calvinist). Only a remnant shall be saved, but they will eventually enter the gates of peace and paradise. The people who survive will be psychic and will have a new consciousness based on cooperation, not violently aggressive competition. All the races will be eventually mixed into one. All those of the old consciousness will eventually die off. There will be no borders and people will roam the earth, ever changing, to survive and thrive in the new world. As the ages change, cataclysms will occur: many land masses will go underwater and new land will rise up out of the sea. It will be an age of knowledge, not belief. Expect the beginning of the collapse of society on all fronts by 2009. Get out of the cities and go to remote areas 5,000 feet above sea level. One positive prediction is that corrupt and incompetent politicians will be a thing of the past by 2020.
The indigenous tribes with their ancient spiritual knowledge will be respected once again and colonizing will be stopped. "Cool" indigenous tribes, to St. Clair, are the Celts, the Mayans, and the Tibetans. "Uncool" colonizers are the Romans, the Anglo-Saxons, and the Spaniards. I do not share his belief that indigenous tribes are morally superior to the colonizers. I think that were just losers in the violent competitive game of life, best represented in the violent sports that most people love to watch in which the victor wins all and the loser is "beaten". The author didn't prove their moral superiority to me; I don't think they were less violent.
He touches on almost all the new age apocalyptic themes, giving one the impression that you could just write a book by recycling other writer's ideas, although I am not accusing him of that. He convincingly advocates for the importance of the imagination and emotion and how suppression of such in the modern world is destroying us. He even talks about certain reptile aliens, not all, that are the dark lords of this planet who are trying to control us, free thought, and the internet, but will not succeed. Some aliens are creating human alien hybrids because the aliens are dying out because they valued technological progress over emotions and spirituality.
I would have liked the book better if he had gotten an editor to edit the many small but annoying mistakes that leave a bad impression and make me take the book less seriously. His style is adequate but not as good as esoteric writers such as Manly P. Hall, David Icke, or Julius Evola. Still, any writer that uses quotes from such polar opposites as the Christian C. S Lewis and the Satanist Aleister Crowley can't be all that bad.
