Is there anything better than Madonna in denim? Don't be ridiculous! But "Officially Supported Export Credits" comes darn
close. The editors here are like Kafka and William S. Burroughs rolled into one. The prose reads like a cross between "Metamorphosis"
and "Naked Lunch." What power! What bugs! It's exportalicious!

Ricardo's text speaks for itself and is truly a classic. In Sraffa's careful and patient hands, this great work finds an editor
who is the peer of its author. This is extraordinary value for money - this is a 6-star book.

Extremely detailed book--Find a grant for any Non-Profit

If you can't find at least one grant that you meet the requirements for in this book, you didn't look at the book at all!
The subject index is indespensible in narrowing down the grants. I was looking for grants for our local Humane Society, so
I looked up "Animal". I found listings for twenty-eight grants geared toward Animal Care and Animal Rights. I looked up each
grant by it's Accession number, read the details of the grant and narrowed it down to eight that I could submit to, add that
to the seven general "Non-Profits" and I've got detailed information on fifteen grants, all in the matter of one evening of
looking through this very detailed book. Listings for each grant include all contact information, web site addresses if available,
email addresses and requirements/restrictions. You've heard of "How-To's", well this book is a "Where-To"!

Like I said in the review title, this book (it's the 2000 edition) isn't the freshest off the press. However, much of the
information remains the same from one year to the next; this should really be considered a reference book. This is a good
book to have on hand for nonprofits.

I collect Edison phonographs so Thomas Edison always interested me. If you are interested in Edison, this book is excellent
because it covers the era when Charles was a boy, when he ran the company, and after Edison died, and it helps explain why
TAE was so stubborn. This book serves to tell about Charles who was humble and kept TAE inc from going under after the great
depression. This book also tells of an honest politician and the hard times he encountered. If you love history this book
is for you.
The best thing, this book often sells at a fraction of its value. Charles met his goal, he cast a shadow of his own.

organized information --and little known tips -- for fundraising success.
Its common sense approach will help experienced staff and boards as well as novices. Whether your nonprofit organization is planning a campaign, engaged in a campaign, or just beginning to think about raising more money, Over Goal belongs in your development library.

A scholarly presentation of a classic primary source of American history

Edited and with an introduction by Morton J. Frisch (Professor Emeritus of Political Science, Northern Illinois University),
The Pacificus-Helvidius Debates of 1793-1794 collects the landmark debates between founding American figures Alexander Hamilton
(a.k.a. Pacificus) and James Madison (a.k.a. Helvidius) about the proper roles of America's executive and legislative branches
in the area of foreign policy. Hamilton was a proponent of strong executive control over foreign policy, while Madison countered
with the charge that Washington's Neutrality Proclamation of 1793 would impede the Senate's ability to make war. The Pacificus-Helvidius
Debates of 1793-1794 collects all of the pertinent original documents involved in these landmark debates, including Washington's
Neutrality Proclamation, the full text of the Pacificus and Helvidius letters, Jefferson's letter to Madison requesting him
to respond to Hamilton, and Hamilton's Americanus letters, written as a final response to Madison's rebuttal. A scholarly
presentation of a classic primary source of American history, worthy of the highest recommendation for college and public
library reference collections.

The REAL Cabot!

"Passion for Reality: Paul Cabot and the Boston Mutual Fund" recounts the life of Paul Cabot, a 20th Century financial pioneer
of immense force and accomplishment whom biographer Michael Yogg portrays exquisitely in this intriguing and witty account
published recently by Xlibris Books.
Best known as the founder of the first operating mutual fund, in the 1920s, Cabot, along with a team of partners, compiled an extraordinary investment record with this first fund, largely through the then innovative practice of interviewing company managements at their headquarters and other facilities.
Later Cabot discovered and publicized financial fraud in the fund industry in the 1920s which put him in position to lobby on behalf of key New Deal securities legislation. Subsequent accomplishments include (as Harvard College's treasurer) increasing Harvard's endowment allocation to equities just in time for the bull market of the 1950s and (as a corporate director in the 1960s) campaigning against abusive takeover tactics of the aggressive conglomerates.
Author Michael Yogg wrote his book, however, "as much for who Paul Cabot was as for what he did." One commentator has said, "No reporter would have had enough imagination to create the real Cabot!" Michael adds in the book's dust cover notes, "It would have taken the combined talents of Melville, Twain and Whitman to invent a character of such passion, humor and joy."
Currently a Managing Director at Putnam Investments, a leading mutual funds and investments products firm, Michael Yogg is a trained historian as well as an investments expert. Previously, he served as an analyst, research director, and portfolio manager at State Research & Management Company where he found himself in the presence of Paul Cabot, the firm's founder, on a regular basis. He has also been a teaching fellow in the Harvard University history department and holds a history degree from Yale and a Ph.D. from Harvard. Michael and his wife Joan live in Wellesley Massachusetts and have three grown children.

I passed the series 24 by using this book as well as taking the dearborn course. This book is well written and organized.
Reviewing the test questions in the book is probably the most effective way to make sure you will pass the test. Excellent!
