Fund-of-funds Books

I enjoyed and appreciated the opportunity to learn folk stories. These were stories that my own parents had forgotten about from their childhood. It was nice to share this book with my parents as well as my younger family members. In the future, I would like to teach my own children not only Mother Goose nursery rhymes but also stories from their family's homeland. And the illustrations were wonderfully detailed and enjoyable to look at while reading the story in English or Tagalog.

This is a wonderful book that chronicles the role of Michigan soldiers(both men and women) in the Civil War. There are a lot of good photographs, many published only in this book, of the various Michigan soldiers and units. There is also a run-down of the major battles, and how Michigan units participated in these battles. And finally, it contains a good bibliography of Michigan Civil War books, as well as a list of Michigan monuments to the Civil War in and out of state. There is also a section on Michigan's participation durin the Civil War Centennial. All-in-all, a MUST-HAVE for Michigan Civil War historians!

The mind body connection is thoroughly explored and dissected in this heady treatise on empirical psychology. I highly recommend this book!

I bought this and tried some of his scans. At first I was skeptical, but the scans did what he said. You can make excellent money doing this. Without a doubt, you should take a good, long look at this system. If you have an investor account, you should do it. I made 30% of my first investment. As for the negative review - ignore it!

Whether you are a politician, political wonk, and student or just interested in the election process for our country, this book is required reading! Rod Smith's approach is surprising and shows that our democracy could be in trouble because of the recent reforms for campaign financing. The data he presents clearly shows the "power of the incumbency". He also demonstrates and explains how people of means have greater access to being involved while the average citizen gets priced out of the election process.

I have run for public office and can attest to the fact that "richer" opponents can simply dig into deeper personal pockets and buy media time and signs, hire staff and sponsor activities that other candidates just cannot afford. The person of means can simply write a personal check. Most candidates are limited by law as to how much may be contributed by an individual or corporation. In the end, this translates into only the wealthy being able to run. It is a concern to those of us who value liberty and the right to run for public office.

This is the fourth edition of this book that I have purchased. It comes out yearly and lists the 500 funds (stock and bond) that morningstar beleives are the best risked adjusted funds we should invest in.

Pros: The book has all of the information you need to evaluate each fund, including analyst's advice. You cannot go wrong if you on the funds in this book. It would be hard to find one with a ten year losing recod.

Cons: Reading mutual fund technical stuff puts be to sleep.

It's packed with timely information on choosing funds, and includes complete profiles on 100 of the year's top stock and bond funds, based on various rankings. The book is well-written and easy to read, even for absolute beginners. I highly recommend it.

This is, among other things, one of few available positive viewpoints about Variable Universal Life insurance product (Ch.16) availabe for investors with the objective of tax advantage. The subject of VUL is mudded with misapprehansion and misunderstanding even among seasoned financial planners. W.E. Donogue has the courage to stand above the crowd of sceptics with solid logic and helpfull hints. So, I can recommend this reading to anyone interested in the subject.
