Saved me money and time
I didn't know anything about how to get my manuscript into the marketplace. Dan's shown me how to do that independently without wasting a lot of my time and money! This update to his previous book couldn't come at a better time. I enjoyed it.

Very Helpful!
This is a spirited and practical handbook for those of us who are looking to publish and market our books independently. It's written with good humor and in an easy-to-read style with real world recommendations that I found very helpful.

Our Wildest Dreams has the "new" right stuff
I connected with the words of Joline Godfrey. Her evaluation on what women are doing in business, helps all of us see the opportunities to do things differently. The first chapter where she talks about the right stuff struck home - women needing connection with others, seeing people as whole individuals, wanting balance in life, seeing business as a creative outlet, are all principles she dives into - they make sense for those seeking to more than financial goals. There are many bottom lines in life - the women business owners the book reviews get it and are designing business with a bigger picture in mind. Thank you Joline for shifting my thinking - I was already headed in that direction - your book help me get there a little faster.

Inspirational
This book was a life changer for me. My entire paradygm shifted about my own potential to be an entrepreneur after reading this book. It was instrumental in my decision to leave my public school teaching position and start my own business. I found the specific stories of women's successes and struggles encouraging. I had often given up on ideas once problems started to arise, but after reading this book, I adopted the mantra "Every problem has a solution." It has helped me through many a seemingly crisis situation. I have reread it several times. The most valuable piece for me was the perspective that we women can do something that we love, have fun AND make a living. My husband also enjoyed this book, so it's not just for women.

First rate
As treasurer of a small obesity support group with charitable status I am always looking for ways to raise funds, and at times it's a real drag. But this book really does put the "fun" back into fund raising. Financially we're having the best year ever, and that's not even counting this Autumn's Butter-Chug, which should be good for £1000 after expenses.

Fantastic and unique
Having spent a lot of time looking for information on imaginative & fun (and sometimes luxury) travel with kids, I can tell you that this is a really unique book. It is comprehensive, carefully researched and well written with loads of practical tips. Some 'travel with kids' books might as well just be bland advertising copy, this one really provides good editorial content, with positive and critical comments. It is a pleasure to read and we will use it for a long time. Fodor's should publish more of these for other parts of the US/world.

An Investment for the Traveling Family!
I loved this book and would recommend it to any family wanting to travel in the northeastern United States. The writers offer tips and reviews on places of interest, resorts, and campgrounds in a wide range of prices. In fact, we have visited some of those places and found a brand new vacation prospect in Lake George which we will be trying out this summer! Definitely one of the most informative travel books on the market today -- entertaining even if you do not go to these places.

I can't tell you how long I've looked for a book like this!
I've been searching for a book like this for several years and haven't found one that fit the bill until now! I had a great time reading it - so well written - and got more useful information than I'll ever be able to use in one lifetime! Thanks so much to the writers and publishers!

Don't Worry, Make Money: Spiritual and Practical Ways to Create Abundance and Make Fun in Your Life ('Don't worry, Make Money', in traditional Chinese, NOT in English)
Published in Paperback by Shi Bao (01 April, 1998)
Author: Richard Carlson
Amazon base price: $

Provides Some Insights
This book does not advocate greed because it includes the joy of the complete cycle, i.e., giving and receiving. "You give because giving is its own reward. It's fun," Carlson tells us. We're told in the second chapter that money is 'circulation' and that it needs to flow.

This book covers much more than just finances. It talks about life in general. On the matter of overcoming fear, he advises, "Rather than feeling defeated or immobilized by their fears and worries, successful people conquer them." On the life well lived, he talks about the charge one feels from being needed and encourages readers to invest in other people's success.

There are so many helpful tidbits on targeted living in this book. It has the information to enhance the quality of your life. It just needs application.

It's all in the title "Don't Worry, Make Money"
This is not really not the type of book you sit down and read cover to cover. I leave it in a convienient place and pick it up and randomly select and read one the very short chapters at a time. Sure enough it is just exactly what I needed hear that day. Maybe you're concerned, panicing, worried about your work, job, or income situation. Reading a small section out of this book will help you face the day with a new fresh perspective. And usually with a much better result had you not read it at all. For someone concerned about their own personal learning and growth in business and making money this is a must.

A book that will save/earn you much more than its cost
Hi,

I'm Andy Glazer, the author of Casino Gambling the Smart Way. You can read what I wrote in 1999 about this book elsewhere on the site.

It's two years later now, and I have a somewhat different perspective. Casino Gambing the Smart Way is a good but not great book. The good news is, I feel that way mostly because my standards have gone up. I'm quite sure it will be worth somewhere between 5-20,000 times the cover cost to most people. It's also pretty funny.

I'll be writing more books soon, a wave on poker first, actually, but this one is an excellent start into the right philosophy to take into the casino. There is also a mistake in the blackjack chart, about the proper way to play a hand of 12. The one page in the book I didn't get to proof and voila.

I'm more advanced in my craft now, but CGTSY will still be a good, easy and valuable read.

A Must Read Before Gambling
I had never considered buying a book on gambling. I'm not a pro and have no intention of every being one. I go on vacation and gamble for fun. Right before a recent trip to Vegas, a friend at
work told me that I had to read this book before I went. I decided to give it a try. Boy, was she right. I found the book to be well written, humorous and most importantly informative for the non-gambler. I didn't have to know anything about gambling to understand Mr. Glazer's book. It was a good read. Not too many books are both funny and educational. This one is. I liked how each chapter was complete in itself. I went with a different mind set. Instead of taking money to lose, I took money to spend. Just changing my attitude seemed to relax me. I have always wanted to but been too intimated to try blackjack. After reading this book, I gave up my losing slots and gave it a try. Mr. Glazer's chart was there to back me up when I needed it. I would recommend everyone read this book before venturing into the casinos.

Easily digestable tidbits of great knowledge
I have not read a great deal of gambling literature, but I really enjoyed this book, which I borrowed from my local library before a 4 day trip to Vegas. As a rookie gambler, I am sure that I saved some money because of this book. I loved the practical knowledge such as not to gamble at the airport and some of the stories and advice that is given out in a friendly manner. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is planning a trip to the casino anytime soon.
