I love, love, loved this book! Rita writes cowboys like nobody else I've ever read. I absolutely cannot get enough of her books. The characters were so real and the emotions so rich, I fell head over heels. I couldn't put it down, but desperately didn't want it to end. Thank goodness this is the first of a series. I want the rest now!!!!

This was the most informative and entertaining book I've ever read, as far a travel guides go. These types of books are usully so dry and boring you lose interest. This one is quite humerous, along with being full of invaluable tips to navagate the different theme parks. If you take the time to incorporate the authors advice, you will be able to experience most all of the attractions with minimal waiting in line. Lets face it poeple pay alot of money for these types of trips and to spend hours waiting in line is insane. This book will truly enhance your entire experience. Highly recommend!

One sleepy afternoon in Sant' Agata, Giuseppe Verdi's estate, Arrigo Boito, Verdi's former rival, came to call. He was there to ask Verdi to set two libretti he'd written on Shakespearean subjects to music. The request was, indeed, a great shock to both Boito and Verdi. Boito had, for many years, insisted that Verdi's work, in light of Wagner's innovations, was no longer of any importance. Yet with these libretti, Boito recognized the truth. Simply put, Verdi, and only Verdi, could compose these operas, and if Verdi would do so, the results would be monumental. Boy, what an understatement. Otello drips with innovation. It takes Wagner's techniques and applies them to Italian opera in an Italian way. The chromaticism, the leitmotifs, the thick orchestration, they are all there, but with an Italian sensibility. It also testifies not only to Verdi's great love of Shakespeare, but his depth of understanding Shakespeare, as well. This score "roars loud, and thunders in the index." Dover's edition is a reprint of an early Ricordi editon. Ricordi is the best source for Verdi, indeed all late romantic Italian opera, simply because Ricordi specialized in late Romantic Italian Opera, and understood the composers' wishes vis a vis their scores. For example, Giovanni Ricordi and Verdi, were good friends. The Dover edition is well crafted, easy to read, and printed on acid free paper, so it is resistant to fading. The score may be too big, and this book too small, to make it useful for the podium. Still, for the student and lover of opera, it is the non pareil.

Many of the problems between today's religious groups can be reduced to mere misunderstandings or just plain ignorance. Tevington's book simply and artfully answers many questions about different religious sects in hopes to bridge the divide of what we do not know about our neighbors.

This book would make an excellent addition to any home library. The chapters are broken into smaller, manageable sections that are easy to pick up and read at your leisure. The book is also designed in a way that leads to reading out of order if there are certain topics that you would prefer to read first.

To paraphrase the great Jedi Master, Yoda, "Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering." Tevington solves for fear of other religions through simple explanations in hopes to yield the fruits of peace and understanding.

As chaplain in a retirement centre where I have three distinct congregations, I have been aware of two things -- first, that music is of vital importance to most in the worship, and second, that no denominational hymnal would satisfying the majority of the people. I found this hymnal rather by accident, but it has proven to be a true Godsend. Designed by people in a retirement community, it suits the needs of my congregations perfectly. It has more than 300 hymns, selected from among the most popular across the board by the generation of people who populate the retirement homes and senior communities in America. These are hymns that are old standards, ones that touch the heart and soul as they have been around since the childhood of the residents (with very few exceptions).

The hymnal strives to be ecumenical in scope -- attention has been paid to making the hymns familiar and acceptable to protestant and catholic congregations. There is a 36 page introductory section that includes liturgies for Sunday service, morning prayer and evening prayer services. There is also a section of prayers that may be used for various occasions. These are drawn broadly from many resources (Book of Common Worship, Book of Common Prayer, Methodist supplements, the New Zealand Prayer Book, etc.) and includes a plastic pocket in the rear for published supplements that are denominationally specific should these be needed for particular types of services (Catholic masses, for example).

There are twenty-eight songs prior to the hymn section, some with full melody, but most with refrain and verses for canticles and psalms, for congregational responsive singing and recitation.

There are various editions of the hymnal -- a large print edition, a melody-only edition for use as the standard book, and the full-music edition, featured here, that includes the many parts of music for piano or organist accompaniment. The hymns are arranged topically, cross-referenced in indexes that include seasonal, topical, alphabetical, and scriptural-reference listings. Like most good hymnals, this also includes listings by tune, composer, author, and metrical index.

All concerns were taken into consideration here, from the type face and size of the print to the ease of holding the book in the hand -- the book is rather thinner than the typical hymnal (many of which contain 500 to 600 hymns), so that older hands can hold it with greater ease. We will use this hymnal for many years to come.

This Ozzie and Harriet 10 Episode Marathon goes for about 250 minutes! Great transfer and sound for some really rare TV! The episodes selected are truly wonderful, especially the 2 Christmas episodes!

In PAID IN FULL, Debbie Brod continues the Quint McCauley series started with Walker Books, and she doesn't disappoint her fans. This one has everything: love, betrayal, lies, and plenty of twists. If you're up for a good mystery that plays plenty of mind games, don't miss this one.

The color plates show wonderful detail. The author gives information on brushes, sealing, paint colors, etc. Very helpful when trying to paint a decorative decoy.

Jim Sprankle is a world class master waterfowl carver and painter. He has published a number of remarkable books and video tapes to help others with their carvings. This painting book is outstanding. Jim has a unique method of painting wood carvings with thinly applied washes of acrylic paints, masterfully blended. This book shows in color how he paints several species of waterfowl, step by step. He even gives the formulas for the correct mixtures of paint. The book is an invaluable source of information for anyone wishing to paint waterfowl carvings.

For those who are currently fascinated with Survivor Palau, especially the aquatic aspects, this is a fantastic visual resource. Highly recommended!
