An intelligent and informative introduction to Homoeopathy
Helpful Votes: 3 out of 5 total.
Review Date: 1998-05-20
This book opened my eyes to a whole new way of looking at health and healing. It has changed my life. Homoeopathy is a gentle and natural way to overcome many health problems that conventional medicine has no way of treating. It looks to the whole person, body and mind, to seek out the causes of illness. Although this book is full of excellent background information, and is very helpful in acute situations, people must not try to treat chronic problems without the guidance of a professional homoeopathic physician.

Absolutely hilarious and chocked full of information, tips and techniques! Any male, married or single, thinking about delving into cooking MUST READ THIS BOOK! It's simple enough even males with testosterone levels in the stratosphere will enjoy and LEARN from Jack McCoy's writing. His humor ranges from the subtle to a freight train smack between the eyes. He keeps you entertained and gets you smarter about cooking without you even knowing it. McCoy relates cooking terms and concepts with real world funny examples allowing those of us not bright enough for the Mensa Society to grasp. I thought the only difference between baking soda and baking powder was the package and spelling. Wrong. You have to use different measuring utensils for dry and liquid ingredients? No kidding. The best book I've read for understanding the often-stereotyped world of cooking. I'm already reaping the benefits!

Every year, one of my teachers gives some students who win awards in his class a gift, and this year, since my teacher knows I love these kinds of books got me this book! And I loved it! I read it that night, and it made me cry, it made me feel so good. It was exactly what I needed to hear from someone! So, now I read it a lot, and many times, I still cry! It just makes you feel good, and makes you feel like someone cares for you!I recomend this book to anyone who loves being told they're cared about and BELIEVED in!!!

Then they think of a great title for the kids at school to read about... teachers! On the news they see a jewel theif. While Lee is trying to learn what is in the mystery room, Michelle is trying to know what is in the box Ms.Iburg is keeping in her room. Then... Uh! She's sorry she looked!

Mini-sized guide laden with maxi-helpful information
Helpful Votes: 15 out of 23 total.
Review Date: 2000-09-06
The Opera Journeys Mini Guide Series is just wonderful; it's like a "Cliff Note" of the opera, and extremely informative and educational. I particularly like the size; these guides are not cumbersome and fit right into my shirt pocket. The ladies will find sufficient room in their pocketbooks.

The story narrative with the music examples is excellent. I prefer it to a libretto; indeed, it's a much easier way to follow the essence of the story. The essay is magnificent; very well written, not pedantic, and extremely insightful and comprehensible. I congratulate Burton Fisher for a job very well done and Amazon for making these handy, information-laden booklets available. The Opera Journeys Mini Guide Series is a wonderful contribution to opera education and opera appreciation.

My tip: acquire the entire collection because you will be in easy reach of superbly presented opera guides consisting of story analysis, principal characters in the opera, story narrative with music highlights, background, analysis, and commentary.

Very recommended for artists

It's a thin book... very scarce or practically no text - but it is all full page fabulous art deco illustrations. Besides enjoying the wonderful baroque and resplendent style of George Barbier, you will be treated to the delectable pleasure of leafing through the petals of this dead and beautiful epoch - the glamour fashions, the opium den, the twenties bathing beauties in flapper swimsuits on the beach, the rich and captivating oriental splendor, jeweled and pearled divas, monocled and reserved gents - this book is Jazz Age art incarnate. It' s pleasure for a refined connoisseur, it's a treasure for an artist. It's only drawback is that it is so thin (but then - look at the price)! Barbier was a very prolific artist and illustrator, his works could have filled a hundred such books, and I hope there will appear more books on him and the epoch he reflected in his miniature delights.

This book is a personal memoir as much as it is poetry. Jennifer says what we want to say and often what the other person is thinking. It's a must have for those who believe in yourself and the art of poetry. Or if you don't believe in either, this book will more than likely change your mind.

Only regret is that she hasn't published another book. Here's hoping she will...soon.

Be Fabulous!

It was interesting to look at a snapshot of the final stages of Lewis and Clark's journey, in a day by day account. The book is well-researched and easy to read.
