Form-T Books

If you are an Everest fan (and I don't just mean a 1996 disaster groupie) this is a must have/ read! Even though it ends in the late 1980s, the information, photographs and insights are the best! Incredible climbers, many of whom are no longer with us, take you on their efforts on the mountain. After reading this book, I was better acquainted with the mountain and its topography than any other book that I have read (and I have read alot of them) and am acquainted with where current expeditions are in their search of the summit. If I was a library crook, the book would be mine. Instead, good karma and conscience ruling!, I have placed an order to find this out of print book with Amazon, drooling with anticipation until I can finally put this gem in my Everest library as the penultimate acquisition. Kind of like summiting and getting back to base camp!:)

The collection of strips in this book alternate between high-concept wit to Marx Brothers physical humor. The gags in this book runs the gamut, ranging from jokes about Kant's Catagorical Imperative to brain-eating zombies. It's one part cultural and critique and one part snickering beer humor, the best of both worlds neatly melded together in a great time. The book is a fun way to spend an hour and the website is perfect for when the mid-afternoon doldrums hit you at the office. And don't forget Rosenberg's earlier opus, Behold the Power of Ignorance, a later collection of strips.

Felix Gonzales-Torres ( 1957-1996 ) was a many-sided artist.
He uses photographs, A1 sheets of paper stacked one upon the other, light bulbs ( white not
colored ) and even large amounts of candy wrappers with the same colour.

He has everything of a minimal art performer and yet the materials he uses ( albeit not at the same time ) and the different ways of displaying his art ( walls of buildings, corridors, rooms and staircases ) are so complex that it would be laughable to call his work 'minimal art'.
If it's necessary to give him a name I would call him an explorer. I believe it's the purpose of an artist to search what lies beyond the horizon.

I believe also in the value of abstract art. It emphasizes the essence of what we see: colour, shape and the different relations between one and the other.

Art with artificial light is the fascinating area between abstract painting and sculpture. Only a few artists so far, had the courage to walk that borderline and one of them was Gonzales-Torres.
His 'light-art' is simple ( He uses for instance only burning white lamps ). For example a large corridor in a modern building has several garlands of light against one wall, or strings of white lights attached to the ceiling and pouring down like rain to the floor to form a pool of light.

All the short exerpts and antidotes are delightfully funny and well written. For all of the shortcuts taken in a working woman's busy life, redemption is at hand! Too funny, lots of rules about clutter is okay and even car clutter is encouraged!!

to all of u that like to laugh, have an open mind, u should get this book. whenever i think i won't laugh for the day, i go back to Fun Bet...bcuz, well, it's a fun bet...brought a smile to my face, and a rip roar to my laugh. pretty damn kool.

I was fortunate enough to have become acquainted with this book shortly after it was published in 1997. I know of no other book that can do what this one does - save your life! This book is very funny. A must have for high school teachers or anyone involved with a high school. It is full of comics similar to The Far Side. We laughed and laughed.

This has simply got to be the most hilariously funny book I have ever seen and read! In fact, I've bought about a dozen copies -- have given several away and keep some on hand to give to friends who need a good laugh and cheering up. Nancy Rider Hunt has the most delightful sense of humor and deserves a Pulitzer for this little book! Kudos
