Form-4 Books

This book was everything I expected and more. I've been a fan of Houser's work for a little while now and was lucky enough to see his show in NYC recently but I didn' t have much of his work in print. This book filled that hole in a big way. The book is almost entirely art reproductions from his early skateboard work to his recent installations, all color photos and good quality shots. There is even an interview with Jim to tie it all up. Great book.

Having fallen in love with grown-up but little Bambert, who sends the stories in his "Book of Wishes" out into the world tied to hot-air balloons, powered by tea lights, I wanted to let him know that all eleven, including the last story, the one that is going to write itself, have been found. Not to mention thoroughly enjoyed. This book is whimsical in the best way and the writing is pure and clean; deceptively simple yet complex. Translated from the German.

This book is just perfect for an evening read to your little one. Very nice stories, colorful pictures. A real evening treat!

Our 3 year old daughter loves this book and enjoys telling the riddles to our friends, although she usually starts giggling before she finishes the riddle. The riddles are short and simple and therefore easy to remember.

This collection of six volumes contains the "best" cartoons from several decades of Leadership Journal. Those who have been faithful, or even unfaithful, readers of that journal will enjoy this collection. Others will find themselves equally at home as long as they are able to laugh at themselves and accept a comic rebuke.

While almost always funny many of these cartoons are also prophetic and offer a criticism of contemporary western Christianity and church life. Those who are offended by the idea of using humour to challenge the church should avoid these books.

This journaling book for pre-teens and teens is well written with timeless appeal, using short interesting excerpts from the youthful diaries of the famous and ordinary to stimulate the reader's literary adventurousness. This book is suitable for boys as well as girls and doesn't assume that only girls keep journals (as so many of the current crop of books does).

I disagree with the previous reviewer. I love Mr. Davis' art and he has a huge following for his Schmid figurines. This book, while a bit oddly aimed at both kids and adults, is charming. The story is cute, the drawings fun and the inclusion of Mr. Davis' more serious works only add to the appeal of the book. Mr. Davis draws chickens wonderfully and anyone who owns chickens will be able to identify with the antics of the birds in his book. Each page is a treat in itself, especially the rendition of Goldie's wedding wagon! The baby chicks scattered on the pages are each doing what chicks do best--exploring, asking "Why?" and getting into trouble. Parents will get a laugh out of the exhausted expressions on Big Jack and Goldie. Plenty here to appeal to everyone!

This trade paperback comic book takes you through the evolution of the Looney Tunes and their comic appearences. I'd have to say that any Dave Alvarez comic is exremely hilarious and there's a slew of them in this awesome collection.
