If you do not know about this book you should read it. It is about a girl who is very bad at baceball and she was traded for a girl named Marcie and a pizza.I think it is funny because Marcie does not know apparently anything about baseball. If you like this Peanuts book read more--they're all great!

This book is impeccable.

I like this book. It is very weird and also very funny. I laughed more with Lucy, because she brought a trolley at the baseball game, so that the ball could get very easy in.Congratulations to the publisher.

Something New

Imagined Empires is an amazing book. It is intellectually challenging, well written, and impressively researched. Literature has helped shaped what it means to be an American, and Eric Wertheimer's scholarship shines a light, for the first time, on a crucial influence in the history of American letters. Our literary forebears were more than "Old World" immigrants set into the rough hewn wilderness of this continent -- they were also intellectual descendants of the great pre-Columbian empires. This book does a startling thing: It teaches us something new.

This book incorporates the views of American supriority and thestripping of tradtional Native American Empires from the canon ofAmerican text. Dr. Wertheimer exposes the nationalistic views of Post-Revolutionistic American writers in their attitudes towards the Incas and Aztecs. He also gives importance to the struggle of Latin American countries independence first from Spain, and then, the United States.

Critique of Imperial Quest

Review Date: 2006-02-28
The Imperial Quest and Modern Memory from Conrad to Greene provides a critical bridge between modernism and postmodernism--especially in its use of multiple interpretive lenses. Its author presents a contextual analysis which synthesizes the historical, cultural, political and aesthetic forces which contribute to the modern and postmodern ethos. The book compares the archetypal quest of the epic hero to the quasi-imperial quest of the modern anti-hero and examines the narrative dissonances within the modern novel. The inner and outer journeys of modern protagonists such as Marlowe and Fowler provide strong indictments of imperialism (whether in Africa, India, or Vietnam). Conrad and Greene critique imperialism in its British, European, and American masks by confronting the human dimensions through their introspective, albeit unstable narrators. This work also offers a well-focused and contemporary analysis of the social and political role of the modern novel in exploring the psychological and political discourses between the East and West, male and female, colonizers and colonized. The author connects the psychological and moral dilemmas of these modern protagonists with existential philosophy, further exploring the dimensions of objectification in both interpersonal and international relationships. This probing study is relevant to the contemporary reader in its analysis of imperial power in both the 20th and 21st centuries.

Politics of the Quest

Review Date: 2006-02-08
The Imperial Quest and Modern Memory from Conrad to Greene is a thought provoking read that combines literary criticism and cultural theory. The book explores the politics of the quest motif in Western literature with an emphasis on modern novels. Many will find this book accessible and worthwhile. The Imperial Quest is written in a clear and direct style but readers should expect some postmodern interpretive techniques. Those interested in studying Western civilization (and imperialism) via literature should find this an interesting read. The book transcends literary criticism to become a work of cultural criticism.

Ian Andrew illustrates In Search Of A Homeland, a story of the Aneid and a tale of war which will appeal to any student of Greek mythology and history. Chapters present the story with plenty of illustration and color: it's hard to peg the readers and age group of this title, which will reach from grades 5-8.

there are not enough words for this book. enticing and mesmerizing, Neruda remains to me one of the greatest lovers of life. An acute observer of surroundings, a revolutionary, a lover, a man of the world and of the senses. this book is a whirlwind of poetical autobiographical moments and what a wonder it is. recommended to be read quietly and in an atmosphere undisturbed.

a masterpiece.

I just purchased this book of poetry. Wonderful stuff! Exquisite translation. Why is it no longer available? I keep this in the same place as my collection of Elliot poems. But these are warmer, deeply personal reflections of a life. It is like walking through a man's memories while he tells you what each one meant to him.

This book, makes you truely proud to be a southerner. And it makes you proud to be a man. Lewis says what's on his mind. You may not always agree. Some may find in funny, and some will find it obnoxious. I agreed with every one of his views and all I have to say is, that it's about time someone said some of this!!! A truley touching and humorous book.
