Instead of this book, how about....Review Date: 2002-12-23
I've read other rewiews from other sites, and it seems that the CD lessons don't always match what the book is reading.
I would suggest "The Everything Learning Italian Book" (speak, write, and understand basic Italian in no time) By Michael P. San Filippo, it's what I'm using currently, and I have learned a lot in, well, no time!! (as it promises!)
I've even had trouble with things such as verbs, adverbs, ajectives and the such, in English!! And I speak English! lol but this book even took care of my probs with this language, and I'm excelling greatly in Italian so well, I've even impressed myself! (not to mention my fiance' who's Sicilian).
So although it may be ok as a refresher, or a book to keep on hand (since it's smaller) for words you're stumped on, I'd still suggest the above, it's affordable wherever you purchase it, and extremely helpful as well.

Great book, the vocabulary builder is usefullReview Date: 2007-03-19
When reading the dual language books, i find myself reading every line translated, this one, even i if don't completely understand everything
it is much more fun to read. and you get to learn the important words that you don't know cause on other side there is like a small dicto for more difficult words.
also the book is very interesting.

My favorite chapters are the ones dealing with Point & Figure (which gave me tons of ideas), Swing Properties, Cycle Analysis, and last but not least, the Goodman Swing Count System. This chapter alone will leave you wanting more information on this virtually unknown (up till now) trading method.
Again, this book may not serve the needs of the beginning trader. But for the intermediate/advanced trader who is past the market infatuation stage and is willing to do the work, there are definite workable ideas contained within.

French A Bit Rusty?Review Date: 1999-11-11
Not an absolute turkey. Could be LOTS better!!!Review Date: 1999-07-14
This is a continuation of Living Language FRENCH 2. While French 2 covered ALL THE GRAMMAR you need to know, this course is mainly a set of dialogues. The idea is to improve your listening skills. Naturally, the book has all the spoken text with translation. It also has some grammar drills you should have done back in French 2. There are also verb conjugation charts.
The dialogues themselves are pretty good. They follow the adventures of an American and his wife in Paris. But for some bizarre reason, each dialogue is followed by a fairly long yet "random" grammar review. (Random in that the subject of the "lesson" is never announced. I never could figure any of them out!!!) How much better it would have been to replace that nonsense with a straight-forward vocabulary preview before each dialogue. That would have greatly reduced the student's need to wade through the 343 page book. By the way, the tapes are not stereo. They sound best on a simple, mono cassette player.
All in all, a mediocre value for the money.
Not an absolute turkey; Could be LOTS BETTER!!!Review Date: 1999-07-26
The dialogues themselves are pretty good. They follow the story of an American couple in Paris. The idea, of course, is to expose the student to vocabulary oriented to the various situations he might encounter in France. First the dialogues go at normal speed (actually pretty slow at that!), and then they are repeated slower. The accompanying book is a whopping 343 pages long. What's wrong with this product is that the tapes inexplicably contain a "grammar lesson" after each dialogue. This "lesson" takes a substantial amount of listening time. And yet it is not a lesson in any conventional sense: the student is supposed to repeat random, disjointed sentences without knowing exactly why. There is no formal explanation of what the "lesson" is about. (The book makes a feeble remark about these sentences also occuring in the written exercises.) How much better it would have been to use the space on the tape for a vocabulary preview BEFORE each dialogue! The book itself has the dialog texts. They are accompanied by interesting notes. There are also some verb charts and written exercises. The tapes are not stereo, although they sound good on a simple, mono cassette player.

Only touches on sector investingReview Date: 2003-01-01
Excellent Guide for the Beginner and Intermediate Investor!Review Date: 2001-08-08
Divided into 12 chapters, the book focuses on the sectors of primary interest to the "average individual investor." Specifically, the sectors covered include: Technology, Financial, Healthcare, Real Estate, Utilities, Energy and Natural Resources, and International. Although investing in international stocks is generally not considered a "sector," the inclusion of the international arena as a sector provides a useful perspective on this area.
In addition to the valuable content, the authors have an engaging writing style that does not hinder the information presented by them. The book is actually entertaining and inspiring.
Overall, "How to be a Sector Investor" is an excellent book on investing in sectors. Having researched a number of other books in this area, this one far surpasses other resources.

This book leans towards being a total reference, but offers the shopper plenty of options.
The bargain shopper needs to know one thing - Century 21 next to the world trade center site. That is about where the unbelievable bargains end. Now you can save some money on the book and spend it on shopping
One nicety about the book is that the author includes place to eat around the shopping.

Not enough info on dining and lodging outside CancunReview Date: 1999-02-24
I couldn't find enough listings for lodgings and restarants to satisfy me, and wound up going to the web to get the info I needed. There are so many more hotels and condos south of Cancun, and even south of Tulum that just weren't listed. None of the restaurants we ate at were even listed. I couldn't use this guide for my purposes.
