This is not an easy book to begin, because the subject matter deals with the Christian being willing to allow the Lord to renovate his entire walk. If you desire to walk in fresh purity, you would do yourself well to get this book and get ready for the ride of your life! You'll never be the same!

But that is one of the reasons you should buy this book if you want to learn web design tricks that will annoy the heck out of anyone visiting your site. If you're the kind of person that loves to pull naughty tricks on web visitors, you will love this book. Or if you just want to know some cool stuff to try just for the heck of it, you will love this book. While some of this tricks have no value other than to annoy, it's nice to know about them if you do any kind of web design. And for the ones that do have some value, it's nice to know of some new tricks to try (as long as they're not overdone). I'm always looking for the latest "tricks" and when I got this book, I thought it would be more of a "guide to what not to do with a web site." Instead, the author seems to take great pleasure out of pointing out "evil tricks" to try.

Among them? Bothersome Backgrounds, like flashing backgrounds or a scrolling background. Nasty looking text that fades in or out, or changes colors constantly. Links that go nowhere or adding sounds to them. Crazy cursors that change shape or disappear entirely. Popups or windows that fill up a whole screen. Or even ways to "force" visitors to fill out a form within a specified time or to block underage visitors if you have an adult-oriented site (actually that one might come in handy for some!).

At times hilarious and a quick read, this book is enjoyable especially if you have a perverse desire to learn what the annoying things you really shouldn't do with a web site, but have the desire to do anyway.

This is a great book! It will tell you exactly what to do to make the most annoying website on the net! It can make you make unstopable pop-ups, changing backgrounds, forcing readers to scroll over to read a sentence, blast annoying music in the background, make visitors view a slide-show before entering your page, and that's just for beginners! Not only does this book tell you how to be annoying, it has some nice things to help your site, like making sure visitors read the terms of service before entering, and so on. After each section, it tells you how to use the scripts to Not be annoying, so you don't always have to annoy the people.
Any way, this is a great book for people who LOVE to create off-the-wall webpages!

This book is about a young girl (Larceny) Who finds herself living on the streets.. It is about her incounters with other people and her seroundings. It isnt just about a girl on the street. It talks about her and her parents and how her spirit lowers and rises and lowers and rises. Definitly a great book for young adults

Okay, so right now I'm the only person with anything to say about this book, I just hope that now that someone has said something, other people will buy this book. Avon Tempest has the greatest authors with the best books, how do they do it? This one is set in Australia, the main character being an unstable fifteen year old who thinks she has killed someone, so she runs away. She does, however, manage to stay on top of everything, which is a lot!Read this book, and enjoy it as much as I did, then find other avon tempest books to enjoy as well!

I am a fan of many genres and had no idea what this book was about until I read the first couple of pages. 24 hours later and I finished the last page with avengence. Davis writes with a plan and gives you bits of information as he builds towards the climax: excellently placed. Do not underestimate the beginning as twists and turns shock you throughout your read. This book is one of the new titles out of the POD (Print On Demand) technology that is evolving. This books proves that quality can come from the vast content being produced. By the way, those of you who like X-Files will love this book. Have fun reading!!

Hi, This is actually the first review I've ever written, but The Christopher Factor by Lindsey S. (Bear) Davis was so enjoyable I felt it my obligation to say so. (I even sent him an email through his website, which was actually how I stumbled onto TheChristopherFactor.com in the first place. There are about one hundred pages of the novel online, as well as some real cool art and music). Dave Jeffries and Vic Donato are the most real cop characters to come along in a long, long time. They talk like real people talk. The relationship between the two is rich, these guys have been partners for seven years and you can tell. I also dug how the story began in 1975. The reader gets a look at what some of the characters looked and acted like when they were in their late teens and early twenties. Then the story picks up 25 years later with all this intrigue taking place in and around Los Angeles. It kept me turning pages from the very beginning. This is this guy's first novel. I guarantee you hear about him in the near future. I 'll even bet The Christopher Factor ends up as a movie!! If you like to read King and Clancy, you'll definitely dig The Christopher Factor. This is an excellent book. It's very interesting and was the first book of it's kind that I have read. I gives color and light suggestions for different environments such as schools, office spaces, etc. It gives detailed scientific information about why these colors and types of light are good to use in these environments that is easy to understand. I think this book is a must have for all interior designers who care about the effects the environment they design will have on the people that will be in it!

Help! My cousin in Brazil is trying to contact the author of this book. The letter he sent was returned to him as the address being no good. He had gotten the address out of the back of the book. Does anyone know how to contact the author?

The author gives advice on designing and furnishing a smart aging home, providing room-by-room analyses, checklists, and recommendations for resources. She addresses specific physical conditions and considers 'the healing bedroom' as a means to setting up a home hospital. And she covers 'the caring community', outlining the local support systems available for the onset of health and disability issues. (I found the reference to 'motion seating' and the company that makes it to be worth the price of the book alone.) Having seen my father through his last years, I already had an appreciation of the need for things as basic as proper seating and an accessible bathroom. The author's experience with her mother's Alzheimer's disease gave me even more to think about. This book appears to be going out of print which is unfortunate because it is quite practical. Buy it while you can.

Briefly, a fine book to sensitize one to issues of design as they apply to older persons. Although much of this book pertains to new constructions, I used it to sensitize me to issues that were also relevant to retrofit--such as putting up railings, etc., in an existing house.

I find this book to be very useful. I use it frequently to check assumptions for system design, to get ballpark estimates of savings potential for energy recovery systems, calculate quick operating cost, and to eliminate systems that do not warrant more detailed study. The author, Michael Kjelgaard is accessible via email and knowledgeable. This book is a good tool for the engineering industry. I recommned this book, it has saved me time in calculations that has paid for the book by multiples.

This handbook is extremely useful for quick hand calculations related to HVAC energy use. I refer to it often.

good introduction to heating lighting and cooling systems in buildings. Covers basic physical principles, human response, design response to site and ong emphasis on passive systems with lighter coverage of mechanical and electrical systems. Lots of wroked examples, case studies, design guidelines, and illustrations by the author. Useful both as a text for architecture students as well as a refresher for practitioners.

This course textbook is an excellent tool for both the beginner and the experienced architect with regard to expanding one's knowledge base on energy designing. The text starts with basic information relating to the environment and site analysis, then provides detailed design concepts for practical use. The materials include current examples for review and study, as well as a wealth of tables and calculation aids for application of the theories studied. Even the individual who just wants a single source for receiving a working knowledge of how to evaluate a site's characteristics with regard to the environment would benefit from this text.

An excellent introduction to the thought of urban conception as a way of life, or even better of living. Michel de Certeau and the others would love to read it.
