Is there really No Breathing Room?
I thought this was a very good novel. I used this on several occations as a document for research papers I have wrote on the subject of Nuclear power and Chernobyl. The author is very accurate and shows the world what goes on behind the scenes.

A little too technical for me.
I bought this book hoping for a general introduction to the explosion, its causes and its aftermath. The book does contain such information, but it's buried underneath a heavy layer of technical detail that can be, at times, mind-numbingly boring. Unless you are a nuclear engineer or otherwise interested in the minutiae of the reactor's workings, I'd skip this book.

Any realtor could write a simpler and better book
We don't live in pristine castles and we don't sell homes as such. I do wonder where Feng Shui came in, other than clearing the clutter???

Sell Your Home Using Feng Shui
Excellent book for its intent. I am a realtor and give this as a gift to sellers who list their homes with me. Sellers love its simplicity and suggestions to totally change a home's environment quickly and with little or no expense. The book is very useful.

Last segment a bit tired
The TARDIS arrives somewhere near the planet Atrios, the location of the sixth and final segment of the Key of Time. But there is trouble: Atrios is at war with its twin, the planet Zeos. The war has lasted a long time, and Atrios is under the command of the Marshal, its war leader, while the royal family have been reduced to figureheads. But Princess Astra has other ideas, and her plans are inexorably caught up in the quest for the final segment.

One of the problems with the Key to Time series is that it is, perhaps, too long. The elements introduced five stories earlier finally come to fruition in this story, but have largely been ignored between the first and last story. And, indeed, the whole of 'The Armageddon Factor' is overshadowed by the anticipated assembly of the Key and confrontation with the Black Guardian that they seem insignificant and even annoying.

Which is a bit of a pity, really, since this story contains a substantial antiwar and anti-propaganda message that, I believe, should have been in the foreground rather than hidden behind the almost anti-climatic conclusion to the Key to Time sequence.

Good book, bad reading
Between the two - book or recording, please choose the book! The materials are useful, provided you have both time and motivation to embark on a long course of self-development, with a lot of exercises, a lot of daily work.

The problem with this recording is, however, that it is read not by a professional reader, but by Dr. Wenger himself. He probably is a smart man, but not smart enough to understand that his voice is quite senile, lacks energy, his diction is blurred, with no persuasiveness, no impact on listener, very boring and totally non-convincing. I have no problems when youthful Tony Robbins reads his own materials recorded on tapes and CDs with his unmatched Passion, but I do have a problem with something as life-less and monotone, as the recording of this otherwise excellent course. Four stars for the book, only 2 stars for the recording.

Factors of Soil Formation : A System of Quantitative Pedolog
This book by Jenny is the basis for soil formation theory.

Jenny's State Factor Function model consists of the effect of Climate, Organics, Relief, Parent Material and Time on the formation of soils.

It may be easily remembered by:

Cl,O,R,P,T.

I feel that this book is invaluable to anyone studying soils at higher education level.

It's gross, but funny
My grandpa gave me this book when I was growing up and I thought it was the most disgusting and funny book I had ever read. Now that my niece is old enough to enjoy it, I regret ever getting rid of the book. It's great for boys and girls with that nasty, gross sense of humour.

Good Book
I have just finished reading this book and I loved it. All three stories were great and romantic. I enjoyed reading how these three irresistible bachelors suddenly found themselves in the world of fatherhood. If you love reading about love stories then you will enjoy reading these three stories as i did.

An average book
I am disappointed because of the contents and methods. Yes it does cover all major systems but the results are given mostly in statistical values rather than physiologic or histology reasons. So I know percentage is high in females for certain illnesses but I do not know why. This book did not tell me.

The Genesis Factor
I grew up in the home of a pastor. I learned early that unless you wanted to sit for an hour and listen to your dad talk, you don't ask complicated questions. I was reminded of that feeling while reading "The Genesis Factor."

Written by two pastors, "The Genesis Factor" touts its intended audience as "seekers," and uses the example of college students wrestling with questions of origins and meaning. The authors liken the quest for answers to a discussion around a dinner table, where the voice of the Bible, and more specifically, Genesis, is ignored as an implausible tribal myth. The purpose of their book, therefore, is to examine the Biblical text to see if it is, after all, a credible voice that deserves to be heard.

A fine proposition. And they do a fine job of explaining the first three chapters in Genesis from a solid, Christian standpoint. I was especially impressed with the broad use of writings other than the Bible-from literature to science and philosophy-to raise questions and illustrate mankind's various solutions.

The weak point of the book was in its organization. Like the trailing explanations I received as a child, "The Genesis Factor" answered more than it asked. Helm and Dennis based their organization on the order of the Biblical text, working verse-by-verse, and sometimes word-by-word, through Genesis 1-3. This is certainly a familiar method for experienced exegetes and for pastors who frequently consult commentaries arranged in just that manner. But for a work such as this it presents two main problems. First, for the intended audience (those who have ignored the study of the Bible all their lives), reading a Biblical commentary is a foreign concept. And, second, it tempted the authors away from answering their questions by allowing them to discuss words and phrases not critical to their main point. For example, noting that the description of the six days of creation is arranged in a beautiful parallel pattern does nothing to answer the question of the origins of man.

A stronger organization would have been to divide the book into three parts, each answering one of the three fundamental questions raised by the authors. The Biblical text could have been applied where appropriate within the three parts, and needless tangents could have been avoided.

I would recommend this book mainly to Christians looking to answer the tough questions of their friends or seeking to clarify their own beliefs. It would be difficult for a non-Christian unfamiliar with the conventions of Biblical commentary to find what they're looking for in this book.
