I felt that this book was a good reading book because itteaches young readers that it is o.k. to tell someone if they arebeing abused. Also, it helps parents that mey have abused a child to learn how much it really does hurt the child.

In one easy reference volume, you can find what plants to plant for what purpose, (shade, climbing, play materials, etc.) and also a very handy section on what not to plant(toxic!). Very helpful for parents and for anyone responsible for outdoor play environments.

An excellent resource for anyone of any faith becoming involved in the political process. Also handy for those interested in starting or enhancing their own grassroots political organization.

The information provided in this latest edition of the "Power Factor Specialization" series is first-rate. All scientific, all proven and geared to make every workout efficient, this book is the ultimate ab (and leg) training book I've ever read. If you want a chisled midsection and muscular, powerful legs, then you will definitely benefit from the information in this book. All of the ab and leg exercises are rated, so that you will never again waste time on an unproductive exercise. The Power Factor Specialization series is the best "training" series of books I've ever read. They should be compulsory for all personal trainers who take their business seriously.

Universal laws work for or against any one of us. A wise person becomes aware of these laws and makes them work favorably. That's the framework Dr. Peale establishes in the first chapter. He follows up in the next chapter by discussing how the plus factor can be linked with creative dreaming to make one's life more focused.
He tells how his own life has been positively changed by applying the principles contained in this book. He adds the stories of other people also.

Although this book was published in 1988, it has great lessons to be learned in your prayer life. While reading this book I found the Holy Spirit alive and well within me. I had borrowed the book, but had to purchase one for my very own!!!

I borrowed "Preventive Cardiology" from the library, and after reading through it, I decided to purchase it! Excellent background of epidemiologic information complete with crisp charts and graphs, great up to date explanations of pathophysiology, well formed treatment recommendations and guidelines presented. There is a wealth of up to date information consistant with the current primary literature on laboratory and diagnositic tests, medications, diet, and patient assessment. "Preventive Cardiology" is well written, easy to read, and a great reference tool for all health care providers.

Overall, an excellent book. It outlines much of the work that's been done in variationism over the past 30 years, and provides a good index to help you find what you need. This volume deals specifically with "internal factors"--that is, social factors like sex, age, and social class. Vols. 2 & 3 are to deal with other factors that have an effect on linguistic variation. Assuming the next volumes live up to the standard of vol. 1, once they've all come out it will have been a well spent hundred or so dollars on my part.

The research is excellent -- I like how Powell takes a reasonable (not "New Age") approach to aging. END
