This book, talking about people who are fat and want to get thin, could not have been any better. It was the perfect combination of scientific knowledge and superlative writing. When my thin wife first gave me this book, I was disgusted, but after reading the first few chapters, the weight seemed to just fall off of me like a leaf in autumn. Get this book at you won't be dissapointed!

Kate McVeigh teaches principles of obtaining favor from the Bible and shows how they have operated in her life and the lives of other people. She gives several examples of favor in different contexts and demonstrates how God supernaturally opens doors and gives favor to those under the new covenant. She makes the case that because of Jesus, the new covenant is better than the old one and that whatever was promised to Abraham has been added to in the new covenant.

I'm very glad I read the Fidget Factor. It was short, simple, and motiviating. Just reading through the different activities I learned that at almost every point in my day I can find opportunities to move, just a little more. I work 70-80 hours per week and have trouble finding time to exercise. Reading this showed me that there are many little things I can do to increase my level of physical activity, and burn extra calories. Michelle

This book deals specifically with sexual sins and how our Christian lives are affected and how often there are deeper issues at stake which need to be addressed. Roy gets to the heart of the matter and is specific about sins of homosexuality, of unfaithfulness, divorce, etc. and how the grace of God can completely set free from the guilt and bondage of these sins. We would highly recommend it!

Geruld N. Lund makes his point very obvious in this book. Our Government should not be messed with. The way he depicts the significance of the US Constitution is amazing. He really shows just how America could be without our Constitution and how the Constitution should not be messed with. This book is a must read. When you finish this book, you'll look at our country and our Constitution a lot differently. You will see just how thankful you should be for it.

Lund's ability to mold and suspend an audience through the course of the book ensure literary success. This book was intriguing as it dealt with an individual's free agency. It contained a brilliant analysis of man's need for freedom. The author educates and captivates in an attempt to provoke the reader's thirst for quality literary content.

I came to Dr. Kuhn's book with reservations, prepared to read another self-help book where the author tells me how to be a better version of myself (perhaps more like him or her). The reality of the experience of reading this book proved to be unique and powerful. Dr. Kuhn insists that we already hold within us an enormous capacity for joy and healing and his arguement for unleashing this capacity is convincing and timely. He believes that our potential for joy is directly linked to our relationship with our own unique sense of humor. Unleashing the "humor being" within you enables you to more fully, without guilt or worry, experience the joy which constantly surrounds you. Dr. Kuhn not only gives us permission, but insists that we explore the terrain of our own humor history and indulge in the unique coping mechanism of laughter. Everything from a smile to a titter to a belly laugh is fair game, each bringing abundant health benefits. Dr. Kuhn shares personal stories of his own explorations with humor and shares humor's role in his own childhood (his father was instrumental in helping him create and nurture his own sense of humor), his work (working with critically ill patients, their families and with chronic pain patients), and his family (humor was the best and most acceptable way his children dealt with him as an alcoholic father). Dr. Kuhn is brutally honest in passages which brought me to tears and made me laugh out loud. In my work with Alzheimer's patients, humor is a valuable tool for improving the quality of both their lives and mine. This book has become a resource for care providers, family members and friends. If you've ever wondered when it's okay to laugh, Dr. Kuhn can answer that question. In the most dire of circumstances, there is joy to be experienced. This exciting and humorous book is filled with international exploits in the aircraft sales business. Each chapter stands alone in recounting the actual experiences of "the World's Greatest Airplane Salesman" in the most unusual situations of airline high finance and fleet evaluation. Famous world personalities contacted in the process of selling aircraft, like a weekend with Panama President Torrijos, give an insight to how deals are consumated. Fast and funny reading, the book is a great example of real world international business. #

I am writing because in my opinion the editorial description of this book doesn't give readers a clear enough idea of what makes it different from all the other feminism and architecture anthologies currently on sale.

Part of the problem is that there now seem to be so many books with titles like "Gender and Space" etc.

But don't be fooled - this really is the only book out there that tries to give an overview of the impact of feminism on architecture, gathering and reprinting seminal essays from the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s.

Aside from the convenience of having all of these important essays at hand in one volume, the book also provides readers with an excellent bibliography (almost 25 pages) of related books in the field. While the bibliography doesn't refer to absolutely everything, it is pretty comprehensive - and, if you're interested in further research, this gives you a good starting point.

The introductions in this book though are perhaps its best feature - in particular, the introduction to "Gender Space Architecture" by Jane Rendell. When people want to know what feminism can do for architecture (or has done for architecture), I refer them to this essay. It's lucidly written and provides a great map to the subject. Particularly useful for students!

If you're just starting out on this subject, this is the book for you.
