I am a father of a two-year old boy. Until the baby was born, I had never been aware of any issues surrounding pro or anti vaccination. My wife, I found out, is adamantly against just about every vaccination. Being deeply confused and frustrated when my wife simply refused to have the boy vaccinated, I decided to educate myself on the issue - so I can actually have civilized and educated discussions with my wife. In summer 2002 the reviewer below freedom2think kindly replied to me by stating that this book was the only non-biased book she had found on the subject issue. One by one, the book breaks down and discusses every major vaccine preventable disease and its respective vaccine known today in America in a manner that is easy to understand. It talks about the bio-chemical mechanism of how vaccines are supposed to work, its history, risks involved in both cases of vaccinated versus non-vaccinated, statistics, data, symptoms to watch and what-to-do in both cases where symptoms are observed. If does not tell you which side you should join, but rather helps you understand what really the issue is about and perhaps decide more comfortably. I would strongly recommend this book to you especially if you are a novice on the topic.

Objectivity in the controversy of vaccinations is almost non-existent. Aviva Jill Romm has accomplished a singular feat in providing parents with an intelligent discussion of the issues without telling the parent which they should choose. Rather, she presents summaries of the most pertinent vaccination studies, analyzes difficulties in interpreting existing data, and explores thoughtful questions involved in the decision. She makes it clear that "to vaccinate or not to vaccinate" is not an easy question, and it has no easy answers that will suit everybody. To help parents make an educated decision, Romm also offers a succinct primer on how the immune system works, what symptoms and risks present with each "vaccine-preventable disease," and standard treatments for each disease. The last half of the book includes herbal remedies and recipes for common childhood diseases, as a supplement to other healthy choices to improve immune system functioning. This book serves as an outstanding reference on vaccination-related facts, a balanced decision guide for parents, and a handy cookbook for home remedies. I buy this book for my friends who are seriously and genuinely investigating the vaccination decision without prejudice.

This tape set exceeds all others because it is presented in a very friendly conversational way. I never thought I'd enjoy an interview type of format,but this one works because it gives you such great information on how to take charge of your life.Great for car listening.

After taking the 16PF I found the book riveting and so easy to comprehend. It's rare to find a book written primarily for psychologists that anyone out of the field can pick up and follow along. Mr's. Cattell's wide data from over 900 sources is a must for all 16PF users/ and anyone interested in personality trait's. BRAVO Mr's Cattell.

Dr. King does an excellent job describing and reviewing the numerous aerospace psychology and human factors topics in the field. His discussion and development of these topics is written in a concise and helpful manner. The book has a little bit for ever reader. For example, the novice to aviation psychology will no doubt enjoy building a solid foundation in a variety of general human factors concepts and literature. The intermediate to advanced student of the field will value the thorough review of research-supported studies and specific case examples provided. Dr. King draws upon his rich and diverse experiences as a practicing aviation psychology guru and has created a must read for the aspiring aerospace psychologist.

This book gives the most exciting evidence of the origins of the African xylophone, which the author believes to have been in Indonesia. It goes into great, but intelligible, detail regarding the morphology and tuning of xylophones, and continues with useful pointers to other fields of research regarding Indonesia's role in Africa from the early first millenium AD onwards.... a fascinating subject about which little is known.

I am a director of a wellness program and a certified personal trainer and a graduate student in exercise physiology. I have used this book many times for reliable information regarding research on mature adults, exercise and its effect on disease. It is fascinating to read and is very thorough.

I loved the first book "Time Bomb" and when I read this one I am sure I will like it. In this on Tom finds a alien female after her ship crashes. My sister likes this book, so I am sure I will like it.

Cherulnik's book is an extraordinarily concise and well explained set of cases ordered to introduce researchers from all concerned areas into environmental psychology. As an architect I found there more than hints to reference and improve my doctoral research, but a clear map to many serious problems of that multidisciplinary area. The application of environment-behavior theory and research in architecture is very disputed among old and young design praticants, and Cherulnik shows its potential and limitations in a amazingly systematic and earnst way. I think that more cases must be added to make that order of presentation more ecumenical - a suggestion that implies the deepening and multiplication of examples in very needy fields as low rent housing and neighborhood's planning. Excellent.

Dr. Lilyquist has documented realities that will in time make or break public schools. His clear and concise reporting of the conditions of relationships in schools points a brite light on "THE SYSTEM." I was able to continue the read because of his positive comments about what was working and the fact that we as educators, adminisrators, political types, and community members can change what is not working. The first place this book belongs is in the hands of graduate students studying school administration but, by no means should the message end there.
