This is the most boring book I have had the displeasure of trying to read I understand that tax law is not to most fun thing
in the world but I think this book could have been written better. If you need to find a bed-time story for your child then
I would consider buying this book it will put you to sleep in less than a minute.

He is broad but simple at the same time. I would recommend this book to anyone that is beginning to get into the business
world of learning!

20+ quilt patterns. The patterns are interesting but quick - you really can pull it all together in a weekend. (Which is
good for a working mum with little patience :-). Some require pre-planning, cutting and even some applique ahead of time.
I adore the pattern for "Baby's Love Blanket". Simple, effective quilt with a few little hearts - I felt I had accomplished something pretty in next to no time. The speed was certainly in the size - just 50x42cm all up - a perfect little quilt for a crib or pram. A pattern to have up your sleeve for that last minute baby-gift.
When I can get the kids sorted, I intend to make the "'Me and Mine' Quilt" - patches of their pictures on a plain quilt. Something I will treasure after they have grown too far to appreciate the simple things.

This book is a compilation of articles written for this book by some of the worlds top journalists and scholars. It is a
study of the methods by which the mass media decieves the people. The person believeing the contributors to be liers failed
to understand that disagreing with them does not make them so. This is a great book for understanding the mechanics of propaganda
in the US and everywhere. An excellent book by the people that understand what is going on.

this is a great book revealing all the lies put into our face by our very own media govt that we elect.everyone knows there
were no evidence against WMD in iraq and attack on other countries are so unjustified.we have also being killing more than
500,000 iraqis since the sanction in 1994, and daily killings of palestinians in their own land. is the jewish n american
life mor eprecious than the arabs? we apply state terrorism in our policy n to defend our dear friend israel, when this friend
is actually the cause of all the problem in middle east. it is occupying someone's land and no action is taken about it, while
we go around killing innocent people.and all the attacks were planned even earlier than 911.people with conscience and the
right mind will find this book very interesting. Those whose brains have been programmed to reject anything that's against
the govt or a certain illegal country might be a bit uncomfortable though reading this book.

Of course, this book is well-named. And it raises the question of why anyone would want to buy it, just to be told lies.
I simply don't understand why anyone would want to produce such stuff.
After all, there are quite legitimate things one could say about what we were told in the leadup to the war against Iraq. We all knew that Saddam Hussein had used poison gas against his own people. We knew that there was a question about Iraq's progress towards obtaining nuclear weapons, or at least enough of a threat to preclude an attack.
Can it be argued that the statements about the Iraqi nuclear weapons threat were false and that these statements caused us to reach a decision to go to war? I think a case can be made for it. But don't worry! The authors of this book do no such thing. They just say whatever nonsense pops into their heads and pretty much taunt their readers.
Can it be argued that the media are becoming ever more untrustworthy? Yes. A case can be made for that as well. And once again, the authors miss an opportunity to address their readers in a civilized and honest manner.
Folks, it doesn't have to be this way. If you have a case, please make it! When you want to expose lies, just do it! Sure, many of the authors of this book have very bad records when it comes to honesty. But I'd ignore that and just read the book on its merits if they would put the past behind them and simply tell the truth. And my advice has to be: if you want to fight lies, tell the truth. When you publish a book like this one, be on your best behavior.
In any case, the actual book is a ridiculous joke.

This book is okay if you only want to write about the wedding itself. There is nothing that allows space for dating, the
proposal, any of the stuff that leads up to the wedding. The pictures are pretty, but I wasn't looking for pictures. I was
more interested in writing room and the content of what I could write. The pages give more of an "old" feel. They are brown,
and the writing is done in calligraphy, I think. I bought the book, then returned it. It is just not a very good resource
to journal all of your dating and wedding memories.

We received this book as an engagement gift from friends. It offers the bride and groom a nice way to record wedding memories,
including spaces to write how the engagement happened, paste pictures of special people and events surrounding the wedding,
and paste mementos like the invitation, newspaper announcements, a saved napkin or other memento, and a press of wedding flowers.
Two things I would change about it if I could: on some pages are printed the text 'put photo here'. The problem is, you have
to arrange your photo just right to cover up the words. In some cases I wanted to include two photos and the words would be
right in between the two photos. I could have figured out on my own to put a photo on those pages without needing the instructions
printed there for me. Also, I included mementos like the groom's boutoinnere, some brochures from the honeymoon, etc. but
the book won't close now. It would have been better to bind it with wire, rather than to bind it like a traditional book.
It's more like a scrapbook. Still, it's lovely and I would recommend it.

something like that. I think Axel is actually not evil after all.

I liked this book, but Jake was really dumb to run away in the beginning. He should have just stayed and avoided the whole
thing and not try to get everyone killed. Some of the parts were pretty good like when the wicked doctor-lady came out,
but some of them were kind of boring, and they went on and on and on about the machines they used. It got kind of old after
a while. But still, great book. It's pretty fun.

A bit thin, but informative. Has a few detail the Ford manual leaves out, or makes you hunt for. The pictures aren't as
nice or as complete as the Ford shop manual. For general repairs I would recommend this one. I'm deep into some major engine
repairs, so I bought both the Ford NH, and this one too.

This is a GREAT textbook; excellent information on Operations Management, *INCLUDING* OM from a service perspective.
This is, however, the International edition. So, if you are using this as a text for a class you're taking in college, be careful. It is not exactly the same as the "regular" version. For instance, the page numbers are going to be different and it does not have the exact same cases in it.
So, I have to rely upon classmates or the non-international edition to make sure I've got the correct reading & case assignments.

This a is a good book for the casual "Western" reader. The chapters are concise yet interesting which makes it easy to pick
it up and read in short intervals.
Illustrations and photography are of good quality. Several antique photos of the famous and infamous are prominent throughout and make the stories more plausible and interesting.
This should make an interesting reference piece to your western studies and reading.

Would you like to tour the west, stopping to read the roadside signs and visiting the small museums? This book is that kind
of trip. Such a trip has rewards and penalties. The book's title promises the "Wild West." Be aware that the emphasis is
on "wild;" as in greedy gold seekers, reckless cowboys, and skirmishes between Indians and Calvary. It would be an error
to consider this western history. The subtitle is "...rediscovering the American frontier." That is a misnomer. The American
frontier was much broader and richer than the material in this book.
The author tells us up front that his story begins with the California gold rush in 1848 and ends with the Klondike stampede in 1898. This is a National Geographic book. Hence it has beautiful photos, although the photographer has an obsession with the light of early morning or just before sundown. There are lots of sidebar stories and long captions under photos. Many of these connect only loosely to the text into which the author has inserted them. In fact, this book lacks continuity in the same way that you might encounter it if reading roadside signs and visiting small museums. Likewise, the passages are frequently overblown, weighed down with adjectives, and overly influenced by legend or rumor.
This book left me with a troubling impression of negativism. Any group of people; whether homesteaders, cattlemen, lawmen, or anyone else; will exhibit both constructive and objectionable traits. This book views the unconstructive throughout to a greater degree than any book I have read recently.

I quote the great Meryl Streep by calling this book a crime against literature. I wish there were negative stars that I can
give this awful concoction of pointless romanticism and inept story structure. The plot was minimal, the characterizations
were nonexistent. For the life of me, I can't understand why this book was so popular. You have to give Mr. Waller credit
for marketing. He knew what would sell, and apparently he spent all of an afternoon producing it. Now please, stop the madness
and don't produce any more books like this one.

another exception to the cliche that "the book is always superior to the movie"---the Eastwood movie is actually a nice little

I read this in one sitting yesterday afternoon, and immediately regretted it. What's so romantic about betraying your spouse?
Maybe this is just my conservative upbringing, but both Francesca and Robert disgusted me beyond belief. I especially hated
her daughter's reaction to the affair. There is no justification for cheating, least of all fickle emotions. It seems Waller
is trying to insult the reader's intelligence.
[..]The romance itself was unconvincing, rushed, and unrealistic. I certainly hope this "novel" doesn't find its way onto any required reading lists, because it's such garbage.

Wow. This was just awful. I am a huge Lecter fan, loved the suspense and descriptive prose of both 'Red Dragon' and 'Silence
of the Lambs'. Even 'Hannibal' was passable. This book, prequel or not, is scattered and disjointed, and seems to have been
thrown together at the last minute. You get the feeling that it was written by somebody else who was tasked with coming up
with a background for Lecter, but didn't really understand the character. Hannibal Lecter uses a handgun? Something tells
me he'd think that sort of weapon was uncivilized. Poor Lecter here ends up appearing superficial, flat and unlikeable. Read
this book, and you'll completely destroy any joy you got out of Harris' earlier books. And don't even think of watching the
film! Shame on you, Harris, for cashing in like this!
Eh.

Hannibal Rising contains a lot of good background information for fans of the series, but the writing doesn't hold up to the
rest of the books. You can watch the movie and be sure that you didn't miss much.
This one's for the money and nothing else

I don't know. This book really feels like Thomas Harris wrote it entirely for monetary reasons. It's an insanely quick read
and has some good moments but at the end of it, I had an intense desire to hand the book to any anonymous stranger in the
street just to get it out of my possession.
The story deals with Hannibal and what makes him the monster he becomes. This is all hinted about in "Hannibal" but here it is detailed a bit more. It then devolves into a revenge story with some really unbelievable lapses in logic and overall goofiness. The ending was anticlimactic after the buildup and something about Harris's writing style makes it a bit difficult to read. It's the kind of book where if you speed read, you are pretty much doomed to miss so-called "important" details that will leave you scratching your head afterward. The series started going downhill at "Hannibal" and with this book, Harris may have buried it altogether. It's not that it was an excruciating read, it just felt like a waste of time at the end of the day.
I would still be interested in reading of the events leading up to Lecter's capture by Will Graham, the FBI profiler from Red Dragon but time will tell if that tale will ever see the light of day.

Harris here fails to deliver on the dense plotting and narrative thrust of his previous books. Even "Hannibal," while a bit
farfetched, still demonstrated his craft. This one feels like it was written by his intern. And let's be honest: As an origin
story, it's wholly inadequate. Lecter's mental pathology cannot be explained by trauma early in life. The character established
in "Red Dragon" and "Silence" is a mostly evil psychopath, not a sympathetic avenging angel.

This book is everything I hoped it would be: a penetrating look into the making of the character Hannibal Lecter. As other
reviewers have stated, one is not born evil; experiences conspire to make one evil. Imagine yourself in Hannibal's shoes as
that 10-year-old boy, and tell me you would not be eaten up by the lust for revenge. Although this is a novel, I'm sure such
things actually did happen during that horrible Eastern Front aftermath of World War II. I found myself feeling sorry for
Lecter, the boy (and, I confess, cheering when he "got them all"); not sorry for, but yet understanding of Lecter, the adult.
Nonetheless, there comes a point when one reaches a point of realization and wisdom and there one's evil actions should stop.
But Hannibal never reached that point. Altogether, this was a fascinating novel, well-crafted and a wonderful read.
