I received the book as promised the NEXT day-which was perfect. It's exactly what I needed & when I needed it!

This book is loaded with educational and fun ideas for children--puzzles, stories, jokes, games, comics, things to make, quizzes, things to learn. It is a Golden book produced by OWL magazine/Golden Press. It is loaded with things to do and learn about when it snows, including science experiments such as testing how clean the snow really is, making ice and snow art, learning about winter animals, puzzles, stories, etc.

After reading thousands of pages on the debate of returns to scale in agriculture I was amazed to find this small book present the entire issue in just 20-30 pages without leaving out any position I had previously covered. As with all the other issues all sides are presented fairly and both neo-classical and marxist dogmaticism scrutinized. The chapters on Environment and gender relations were written in response to new developments since the first edition and are not as complete as the other issues. The book assumes no previous economic knoweldge and has a chapter explaining how to interpret the graphs used later in the book. unlike most textbooks the end of chapter summaries and "further reading" lists are actually useful.

Michelle Many is my new favorite Spiritual Guide - Her assertations are completely believable and she guides one along on the meditation journey with an effective blend of vocal, tones, and music. This is one set that everyone, regardless of spiritual path or religious dogma should own and use regularly - Fantastic is too mild to accurately describe this book with CDs and the Celestial Meditaions - I Strongly Recommend it for everyone.

Although the media focuses on Columbine-type shootings, students are much more likely to get hurt at school by falling on the playground, a spill in the chem lab, or being injured in gym class. These are all much more common than you may think. This book--which would be useful for school principals, nurses, the head of the PTA--presents an overview of how these injuries happen and how best to prevent them. Each chapter is illustrated with real examples and ends with comprehensive listings of other resources, from books to organizations to websites to videos. I found this book to be well-written, thorough, and organized. Readers can focus on a single issue, such as vocational education, or can learn the entire scope of the problem of children and teens getting hurt while at school. If you are concerned with keeping kids safe--as every school should be--this book can assist you in designing or improving an effective injury prevention program.

This book is an amazing find. I do not believe it is currently in print but used copies are to be found on Amazon.com. If you are a fan of naval history then this book is guaranteed to thrill you.

The book is composed of letters, journal entries, ship's log entries and, in some cases, officially recorded testimonies from various naval proceedings (boards of inquiry, courts martial, etc). The stories are copied verbatim from original sources thus the spelling, grammar and writing styles in the older narratives are retained which adds a nice vintage flavor to the overall experience.

The book is broken down into sections covering various eras from the American Revolution to the unprecedented underwater global circumnavigation of Earth by the nuclear submarine U.S.S. Triton in 1960.

The reader will find a first-hand account of John Paul Jones' epic victory over the Serapis as well as other monumental moments in the history of the United States Navy including extensive excerpts from the captain's log of the U.S.S. Triton. I am a Navy veteran so this review may not be the most objective one you will ever read but the simple fact of the matter is that my enthusiasm does little to enhance the appeal of this book. It really is that good.

In the end, what really sets this book apart from other histories is the fact that you are reading accounts written by participants in history as opposed to being written by academics who've never stood a deckwatch in their lives.

The U.S. Navy has it's fair share of heroes: John Paul Jones, Stephen Decatur, Oliver Hazzard Perry, David Farragut and so on... Inside the humble cover of this book is an overall story no fiction writer can match. My apologies to C.S. Forrester and Patrick O'Brian.

When Pope Julius II needed someone to design and create the frescoes for his private appartment in The Vatican, he knew who to call: Raphael; and what staggering frescoes they are!

The frescoes are part of the Stanza della Segnatura which contain the famous School of Athens, and The Triumph Of Religion. These 2 works are found on the largest walls. Also included are The Stanza dell'Incendio and The Stanza d'Eliodoro.

What makes this book so sensuous and stunning are the beautiful color photographs that husband and wife team Maurice & Jacqueline Guillaud have taken. Full of spectacular close-ups, you immediately get the full force of Raphael's vivid pallette. One of the trademarks of the Guillaud's is to print all of their photographs on onionskin paper, which has the look of paint on fresh plaster. This is a great way to experience the works of this great artist.

Ramon Sender fuses symbolism and realism in this account of the effect of the Spanish Civil War on a small Aragonese population. He reclaims the image of Christ crucified for the Republican side. This image had been used by Nationalists to symbolise the fate of Spain. It is here won forever for Republican historians as a metaphor for the suffering of ordinary Spanish people. Easy to read in the beautiful Spanish original but excellently translated. You now have good reason to read this book twice!

There are many good Christian books on marriage, and A Sacred Foundation takes its place among them. The authors share an alternating discussion of his needs and her needs. The wife needs her husband's leadership, gentleness, compassion, protection, provision, praise and support. The husband needs his wife's allegiance, affection, beauty, companionship, and mature love. While this is true in all marriages (particularly for those who desire to follow Christ), these needs effect the homeschool marriage even more. Homeschooling is a worthwhile, dedicated, challenging, and exhausting commitment. The marriage relationship is vital to it's survival, but can too easily be back-burnered with the demands of the life style. This book is a great guide and help for both successful and hurting marriages, as parents team up to provide a home education for their children.

This is a book with deals with the trauma of Alzheimer's. With very gentle humor and delightful artwork, Tom Batiuk gives hope and comfort to all who deal with this dreaded disease, both as victims and as caregivers. I applaud his efforts in bringing this subject "mainline" in a caring , informative manner.
