Why Are you a Transhuman is Essential Reading!How many theories of social change can fit on the head of a pin and not fall off? As many as can balance.
Are You A Transhuman is essential reading because it presents the concept of multi-tracking in practices a way of living in the world that is on one hand highly technological and, on the other, very compassionate.
This book covers a broad range of transhumanist interests and perceived goals that have affected and will continue affect social change in the coming years. For example, FM-2030 was known for being a highly visionary individual. Because a myopic perspective in the fields of science, technology, and politics did not dogmatize his skills as a writer and lecturer, he could grasp ideas by a larger view.
Transhumans and transhumanism is not just about technology. It is about expanding human understanding and intelligence. This book is a collectable and a must read for anyone interested in the future of humanity.

A Fabulous Single-Volume Reference on Classical MusicHere's what you get:
1. A concise history of music, from the earliest tonal experiments to the eclectic directions of the twentieth century;
2. An alphabetical list of composers, including a short biography, brief appraisal of his/her contributions, and a list of essential works;
3. Assorted tidbits of vital information, including a glossary of music terms, a list of most popular pieces, and much more.
4. The entire book is peppered with drawings, photographs, quotes and anecdotes.
I've literally worn out my copy of this book, marking it up extensively as I used it to develop my interest and appreciation for classical music. I recommend it heartily, with two "caveats": First, the author - understandably, since he's English - tends to emphasize recent British composers over American (for example, why is George Lloyd included and Alan Hovhaness not), and second, this is not a guide to specific recordings (there are other books that exist for that purpose, but don't do nearly as good of a job with the music itself as this one does). But these are minor comments. Anyone with even the slightest liking for music will find this fascinating, and they could even find themselves embarked on a lifelong study of the classics. Enjoy!

Freedom From BackachesWhy? The human skeleton in itself would fall down in a pile of bones without the strength of the muscular system. More importantly, the skeletal system could not function properly without a high degree of flexibilty in this system. So, when you let your muscular system get out of shape and you don't do anything (yoga, stretching or warming-up)to increase its flexibility every vertabre, joint and organ is headed for trouble once you put any stress on it or are involved in any type of accident.
Perhaps this is common sense now. But, when this book was first published it was a tremendous success. Now it should be taken and republished or a website should be developed around it. Millions of people are being taken for a ride by bad advice from physicians and chiropractors who just prescribe drugs, surgery or treatments when most of their problems could be solved through simple stretching and strengthening exercises.

delightful, short, eminently readable biographyThis is a appetizer; it's a great book for someone who wants to learn about Beethoven but who is not yet prepared to plow through a long, technical biography. I understand that there is some controversy about Beethoven's life & love affairs -- this book doesn't address the controversy; it's a rather simple presentation, though it does present the basics well, and provides some background for someone who wants basic familiarity with the composer's life. Although it is hard to find, it may be available in public libraries. I highly recommend it.
