Ho hum. Lacks essential planting and growing dates.

Ho hum. I bought this book to zero in on early and late planting dates for each vegetable. It did not provide that information. For example, I surmise that I can plant 45 day tomatoes on Aug 20 to harvest before the last frost on Oct 5, but somehow I doubt they will grow much in cool September so I found little value in this book since it shed no light on such scenarios. Worst yet, one main planting chart calendar refers to all the planting dates by Zone. This was useless because I could not find where the zones where defined. The calendar chart refers the reader to a zone map in the back of the book but the map fails to identify the zone's with any notation. Instead, this map identifies temperature zones, but there is no legend to associate the temperature zone with the notation used in the book, i.e. zone 4,5,6. This was a major omission for everyone who wants to know when to plant! Therefore this book is only useful for general gardening information that can be gotten anywhere else. I do not recommend this book for midwest planting calendars. Other than that, it seems to cover general gardening topics and that is why I rated it two stars instead of one.

I thought this e-book, would give me a good start in this technology but that was not the case. It seems to be a weekend crash in how to play sounds in your device and specific topics.

I wish there were more real-life samples and more data manipulation, even as introduction.

I liked the topics for becoming familiar with the environment thought,

Read at your own risk!

This book is not only badly written, it is an example of the dangers of cult-recruiting preying on those who may be young, lost, and searching. Since this edition predicts that the world as we know it will end in May 2001, it will be interesting to see if a new edition comes out which moves the day of doom ahead so that this cult guru can continue to collect on other people's hard-earned income.

Even just as an intellectual exercise, this book holds no value. The storyline is choppy and holds no continuity. The author goes in and out of predicting the future and self-glorification. Save your money.

new age vanity publishing

This is an example of new age vanity publishing (self-published). The message is self-promotion by a cult in Arizona, containing fairly typical new age prophecies and promoting the cult head. The style is somewhat cramped, obscure and meandering. Be advised that all procedes go the cult. The basic message is anti-Christian, asserting polygamy, reincarnation, autocratic world-rule (by the cult), etc.

The Divine New Order - Not
Helpful Votes: 5 out of 5 total.
Review Date: 2000-06-08
The Divine New Order claim to tell of the spiritual journey of Tony Delevin, known to his followers now as Gabriel of Sedona. It tells of how Tony was abducted by aliens, who now communicate or "fuze" with him and provide him with "Continuing Fifth Epochal Revelation." These alien beings warn us that during the 1990's, San Fransisco, Los Angeles and many other parts of the world will be subjected to massive earthquakes and other natural disasters. These disasters will change the shapes of continents and kill millions. Those not killed or dislocated by natural disaster may fall victim to a massive world war between China, the Arab nations of the Middle East, and the United States. The American economy disintigrates during this time and the country is invaded by the People's Republic of China. If that wasn't bad enough, on May 5, 2000 the alignment of 7 planets in our solar system will nearly shake the earth apart. Only those who join Gabriel in his commune in Arizona will be protected from these events. By April 1998 they expect to be evacuated from earth by alien spacecraft, only to return a few years later to establish Divine New Order Government with Gabriel of Sedona as the worlds leader. Besides the large number of prophetic visions that did not come to pass, the Divine New Order is notable for its poor organization and amatuer writing style, making it a difficult read. There are also many ugly elements such as the authors apparent hatred of women, and his inability to even consider the idea he is ever wrong. Everything bad that happens to him is always someone elses fault. There is always a scapegoat on whom to pass blame. The Divine New Order is supposed to be a spiritually enlightening book about the life of a man who claims to be the highest spiritual leader on the planet. There is precious little of spiritual value in this volume, just a lot of failed prophecies, self-pity, egotism and elitism. I would not recommend this book to anyone. If you are on a spiritual journey, you can do better than this.

Poorly done book on important subject

The posters referred to in this book were from a vital, creative, and massive outpouring of images printed by U.C. Berkeley art students at the height of the Vietnam War. As with many aspects of social movement studies, so far there has sadly been very little published on them. However, instead of an insightful and well-researched treatment of an entire body of work, this book is a superficial analysis of one moderate-sized private collection purchased in early 2007. No artists were interviewed, none of the current scholars or institutional repositories were consulted, no photos of the workshops are included, no bibliography or other supporting documentation is offered. Save your money and wait for a much more comprehensive book written by people who know what they are doing.

Great reading material.........if you want to go to sleep. Almost makes me think he was a Univ. of Illinois graduate. Probably a rocket scientist. I suggest Mr. Berton leave NASA employment for private industry, civilian rocket ships preferably since that is where the future lies.

Pervention and treatment of Colic in your horse(EC) is a real rip off, I expected a book, not a $1. reprint from an extension office. This joker sold this for 5.00 and charged 3.99, it came with a .42 stamp. I paid $9.00 for what? I thought Amazon.com put you in touch with real book dealers, not rip off artists.

This "Second Edition"fails to cover Keynes' math model
Helpful Votes: 1 out of 5 total.
Review Date: 2004-11-16
This "Second Edition" of the General Theory fails to improve upon Keynes's two basic models, the D-Z model of chapters 3,20-21 and the Y- multiplier model of chapter 10 of the General Theory(GT).The major result that Keynes derives from his analysis of the interactions of these two models is not even discussed. That result was that w/p=MPL/(MPC+MPI),where w equals the money wage,p represents the optimal expected price level,MPL is equal to the marginal product of labor,MPC equals the marginal propensity to spend on consumption goods, and MPI equals the marginal propensity to spend on investment goods, which are completely different in nature from consumption goods. The classical and/or neoclassical theory can be represented by the macroscopic, labor market clearing equation w/P=MPL,where P is the actual price level. This result is a special case of Keynes's general theory if and only if price expectations are optimal(p=P)and if the MPC+MPI=1.In this case the economy will be operating on the boundary of its static and dynamic Production Possibilities Frontiers(PPF's).There will be no involuntary unemployment.Involuntary unemployment will occur if P
