This is an impressive book, maybe a little too big, but a great guide to any international lawyer, the authors explain everything to the deepest point and using always historical references to explain the evolution of every subject.

I bought this book for a LLM course and it's worth every penny.

This book is the best written text on International Regulation of Trade currently available.

A reasonable text

This book is a standard text for International Trade Law Unit at The Australian National University. It is quite adequate for this. However I find its Canadian bias towards America bashing a bit tedious at times and I think that it oversimplifies the economic analysis.

This book was not quite what I was hoping for. Not as informative as I had imagined it might be. None the less still useful.

Unbeatable Fish-keeping books

Review Date: 2007-01-20
All of the Aqualog books are excellent value, although they are not particularly cheap. They are full to the brim with first class colour photographs and to reproduce these in a book is an expensive process. Whether they are about African Cichlids or some other species of fish they are the most comprehensive identification books you can buy. They never become dated because as new fish become available to the aquarist trade the books are updated. There is not a lot of literature on African cichlids so this book is invaluable.

They do not deal with the basics of fish keeping, there are many and varied books that do that. They are in the main a fish identification encyclopaedia and nothing more. But for those aquarists who are particularly interested in a single species they are indispensable.

The reason that this book is so very fascinating has to do less with the subject than the author. It is a fine book to be sure, full of helpful and interesting information, but the author, John Quentin Feller, is far more intriguing. Feller was arrested in the early 90's because he was one of the most accomplished and compulsive art thieves in American history. He did 'research' in 8 major museums and stole from them. He didn't do it for monetary gain, though - he would 'donate' the pieces to other museums! Really, really interesting guy.

This is a beautiful museum catalog of the Peabody Museums's famille rose porcelain collection. Many nice color illustrations of a wonderful collection. There are also a lot of black and white illustrations that are a little hard to make out. This is not a history of famille rose as such although there is a lot of historical information embedded in it. It is also not a collecting guide or price guide.

Globalization sounds to you to you like Americanization? Not at all, answers Gianni Montezemolo. With the introduction or the Euro Currency ( one single currency for all European countries) there is chance that Europe will become a land of opportunity for new and existing enterprises, more than America. Knowledge of different European cultures, development of new organization structures and recruitment of cross border management, are the key elements of a new approach to European markets. There are many examples based on food and service industries ( This is the field of expertise of Gianni Montezemolo), but few based on the IT companies. Just to give an idea, cellular phones are more spread in Europe than in America. In my opinion this is a point that should require more in depth debate. However the book is well worth a reading, especially for Americans willing to expand their business in Europe.

I needed a book that had paranthetical references, and this book had quite a few. Would have loved it if there were more though. This is actually a very good book. It teaches practical common sense, mixed with historical overviews of international trade practices, forwarding laws, promotion and marketing plans, advertising strategies. It is a very good book that will provide a breadth of knowledge for the enterprising importer-exporter. I would recommended it for both business and academic purposes, although if you are looking for more academic reference-based books in this area, you should also consult academic publishing companies that focus more on referenced materials. Overall, very informative book.

GOT TO HAVE IT

This is a very good book. As a student in college, I used this book as guide. Which has assisted me in my research projects which I received an A. This book written by Seyoum is very straight forward, and easy to understand. This book has many strategies and marketing techniques, which are very helpful. It makes you understand the importance of trading and understanding the reasons behind all the documentations. This book even could help you operate your own export-import business. If you are interested in the international trades I recommend you to buy it, and include this work in your library as a good refrences. I hope you enjoy it as much I enjoyed reading it.

Global Business Regulation

excellent text

braithewaite and drahos provide excellent and substantial empirical material to fill out their particular theoretical frame and engagement with social/political process. the empirics are the key to the success and utility of this text, which transcends disciplines and provides excellent footing for social scientists and others interested in actually getting underneath "globalization" and understanding process and practice, rather than simply discourse or theory.

the authors' historical breadth and attention to specific regulatory domains is a refreshing alternative to texts that shy away from the difficulties of empirical realities (eg. contradictory and/or complementary regimes and processes). i highly recommend this book. don't be put off by the length; it is substantial reading, but rewarding, interesting, and provocative.

Global Business Regulation

Review Date: 2001-04-25
This book adds to the already overflowing subject of globalisation, but giving a distinctly unique edge by looking at it with regards to regulatory issues.

The style is largely academic and the book works better as a "tool-kit" rather than a text that would be read from cover to cover. This is acknowledged by the authors who recommend which parts are most pertinent, given the areas that the reader is most interested in. The structure of the book aids this approach as it is hevaily broken down into sections: an introduction, a look at relevant cases and analysis of those cases.

The cases are most interesting, with a wide variety of subject areas covered from drugs to transportation. Each subject has been researched deeply by the authors who carried out many interviews with important actors in the world of global business regulation before writing the book, and they give interesting and thought provoking accounts.

Overall, the book is probably the best in its field but the size can be a little daunting and the amount of material which the authors cover. Unless the reader has a specific interest in this field and can just use this book as a refernce, it can seem a little laboured and boring.

We used this book for our International marketing class and did not find the textbook that useful in that it didn't seem that applicable to "real world" situations. It also didn't really teach any solid techniques. I did not keep it around as a reference book as I do with some other books.

Despite that the book is very expensive and a required text book for college, I think it is an excellent book. It is informative and easy to read. The author made the information interesting and kept me engaged. If I didn't need the money (from reselling it), I would keep it as a reference guide.

Bridge between international business & organization theory

Review Date: 2000-07-29
I think it has been the most useful book if one who is intetrsted in organization theory and, sepecially, international business. After the publish of S. Ghoshal and E. Westeny's "Organization theory and the multinational corporation", this book has been another good choice for those who are concerned about this topic. It contains the characteristic of information technology within the multinational corporation for the purpose of communication and coordination, from the view point of organization theory. And in the second part, from the view point of organizational behaviour, connects international business with organitional behaviour. Both provides a whole new view for both international menagement and organization theory
