This represents one of the most massive pieces of literature I have ever seen. It's well worth it because it not only gives you the background of almost any relevant issue you need to know about in education but also gives you statistical and research citation to use to back up your claims (with a bibligraphy for further investigation. Please do not buy this 3,000 dollar set. Use it in the library. It simply takes up too much room for the typical grad schools apartment, espeically when you need to protect such pricy tomes.

Richard Mead has achieved a rare victory: he has written a book which covers both western and eastern business culture thoroughly, objectively and fairly. He never indicates a preference for either culture, yet is able to present the pros and cons of both with equal clarity. He covers all leading international management cultural theory (Hofstede, Trompenaars, Hall, et. al), provides thought-provoking and original cases for analysis and discussion, and even has a helpful summary & quiz section at the end of each chapter. Part IV, Making the Strategy Work, HRM Issues, offers a clear and unbiased look at expatriation and training, both from the HR and from the expatriate manager's perspectives. Having lived and worked for two decades in Asia, this reviewer can attest to the veracity of the many sections on Asian business culture...and as an intercultural management trainer, to the depth and detail of the cross-cultural theory explained so completely, and yet in a way which every expatriate manager can grasp at once. This is an MBA-in-a-book....don't leave home without it.

This book is a true treasure for everybody who has to work on intercultural strategies for a company or on any other work dealing with this subject. Usunier used a lot of "real-life" examples to show the reader how intercultural marketing and intercultural behaviour should look like. A lot of companies - especially European companies - still neglect the importance of intercultural understanding and it should be a duty for them to read this book.

This book gives you what it says it offers: insights in international negotiation. It is not a book you read in one greedy gulp, but in
exciting chapters about as diverse subjects as international diplomacy, scientific analyses of processes of negotiation, multicultiural aspects of conflict resolution etc.
This book has recently been updated and that makes it a valuable contribution to that small stack of true, as in rich and multifacetted, handbooks.

Each segment includes web links to locations which further your study. Each chapter includes historical perspective as well as theroetical underpinnings. The end of the book has a handy glossary from which to quickly recall previously discussed definitions. Whether you are a realist, internationalist, structuralist or feminist, or a little of each, you will improve your understanding on the state of nations and how we got here and hopefully develop insight into where we are going.

Jim Klotz has written an outstanding book on international sales contracts. The book clearly discusses all contractual aspects involved in an international sale of goods, from trade, pricing, delivery and payment terms to the relevant Rules (ICC, CISG, etc.). Most impressively, the book contains a sample of almost every contract clause and explains what it does for (or to) both buyer and seller. While written by an international lawyer for lawyers, the lay reader will find the book extremely useful in understanding how to contract with foreign buyers or sellers. I highly recommend Klotz's International Sales Agreements.

Van den Berg and Lewer bring a fresh look at what trends, dynamics, and models are present in today's global business world. One of the greatest strengths is the ease of reading through complex theories. The book is based off of sound statistical evidence which present a thorough yet unbiased perspective. The book can be read for enjoyment (insight) and/or as a textbook for class. I would also recommend reading the book as a supplement to any international business class and/or any economics class. The book is relevant to both undergraduates and postgraduates. Personally one the best books on my bookcase. FIVE STARS!

The book is a first rate achievement as it is extremely clear, rigorous, well written , with lots of diagrams, a complete set of references. In addition it has a thorough review of the mathematical passages needed for a full grasping of most internatiomal trade models. And finally it covers topics that are important, new and usually absent from other major textbooks. In sum two thumbs up!
