This is a great first step on a journey to genius. Hoyt continues on his quest to help others discover the workings of the inner super computer. This is a great Cd to use as relaxation before bed. The Mozart music is very soothing and calming, a very relaxing exercise. The DreamSpeak Technology is a useful tool for expanding thought, consciousness and cognitive development.

The author has some good info but it is really not a large amount. Although good info in the relationship area is not easy to get. The CD is about 1 hour I am glad I bought it.

Doesn't it seem just a little funyy that people are still giving this great classic by Wade Cook a 1 star, bash him and still insist that cook went bankrupt and is no longer in business?

This one tells the truth about what Wade Cook is really doing now. That other websites sends you to another website which leads you to investing seminars by one of Wade's competitors.

Regarding stock market investing, it is a very risky business. there are no guarantees. You don't see these same 1 star reviewers (really just one person reposting over and over and over and over. Gary Walls no doubt. Ask Mr. Walls why his tabloid website which mercilously attacked Wade Cook and was filled with lies got shut down) Notice that this same 1 star reviewer never wants to talk about all the crimes occurring on wall street. How many brokers and mutual fund managers have been busted?

Brokers don't want you to read this book either. Then want you to go to them for their expertise. The fact is the reason these guys are called brokers is because they make your accounts get broker! Discount brokers in particular are very nervious about Wade. These guys are hanging on to their job's by a thread as it is and along comes Wade Cook teaching people that you can save and make more money by using a full service broker. It's sort of like getting better nourishment from a restaurant that carefully prepares a meal for you (full service)as opposed to a fast food restaurant (discounted) where it appears to cost less, but????

I am sure that the 1 star hysteria will continue and I am sure that the deleting of five star reviews like this one will also continue. And I am sure that tabloid like websites like Gary Walls now defunct website will continue. As long as some people like to read garbage, parasites like Gary Walls (now using another name and not surprisingly going after another best selling author) will continue.

My question is, what good does it do? Wade Cook is still around and strong. The other best selling author has gone far beyond what Wade Cook has ever done and he is getting bigger, bigger, bigger and bigger.

This 1 star reviewer should stick to using Wade's advice (successful investors have been applying Wade Cook-like techniques for years, long before they became fashionable), read and assimiliate Wade Cook's advice and strategies, forget the tabloid websites and then he will start making some serious money and maybe even for at least once in his, feel good about himself and do something good for mankink.

Spare us your suicide tactics WILL YOU??? Tell the truth for once WILL YOU?? About your getting kicked out (sued) of half the states in the union for your reckless tactics... And your damned suicide tactics of telling people to go ON MARGIN and lose their cash twice as fast with your damned stupid reckless ideas...

The fact is, you can create a great income by using Wade Cook's winning strategies. The stock market will always be around. How is your company doing? Do you feel safe? I didn't. that is why I left.

The first time I heard about Wade Cook was at a real estate seminar that I attended in Florida many years ago. Cook was a guest speaker and was disclosing his techniques on how to cash flow real estate. I tried his techniques in concert with other strategies that I picked up from that seminar and some other books like Robert Allen's Nothing Down and flipped a no money down deal in a month and made a nice $10,000 profit.

Many years later, 1997 to be exact, I was browsing a bookstore in Orlando, Fl and came across this book by Wade Cook. To be blunt, trading in the stock market scared me. Up to that point, I had been only a mutual fund investor and felt that individual stocks were only for the extremely sophisticated who could watch the market every day, all day long.

But this was a book written by Wade Cook. I remembered him fromt hat real estate seminar and I remembered how effective his techniques worked for me. And he was talking stock market strategies that were very similiar to what he taught in his real estate programs. So I bought the book.

Boy was I nervious. My first play was a 3/2 stock split play on a bank stock. I invested $250 on only one contract (last of the big spenders huh?) Three weeks later, post-split that option was now worth $1500! Do the math and figure out that rate of return.

Next I bought a railroad stock that was doing a 3/1 split. I made $4,000 in three weeks!

Then I invested in Schwab and Wade Cook's stock, both of which were doing stock splits at the same time. Again, I averaged 1,000%+ returns in weeks!

Then I bought into a drilling company that was also doing a 3/1 stock split. You guessed it! I bought the options post split this time. The stock ran from $25 to $40 in a month. One mistake I made with this play was that I held on too long as the stock started to pull back. But I still sold at a nice profit.

So I was sold, sold, sold on Wade Cook. My best play was on Amazon.com (AMZN) I made $7,000 in three days on a 3/1 for stock split. My $15 options soared to $8,500! I felt like I had the Midas Touch and was on cloud nine!

Later I played DELL and LUCENT and made in some cases $1,000 a day on stock splits using options and having very little money tied up.

On the other hand, I knew people who were losing money on stocks like IOM, CPQ, NOVL and others. My mutual funds were still doing well too. The fund I bought @ $7 was now up to nearly $45. So I knew that there was something other than luck in play here.

What impressed me about Wade was his constant beating that the stock market is very risky. To paper trade first and start with small amounts of money and only with play money, don't use retirement money or rent.mortgage or food money.

His strategies still are working for me today. And speaking of the strategies, they really are nothing new. Many investors knew about stock splits, option plays, covered calls and so on. Wade Cook just refined and fine tuned the strategies and delivered them to the masses while others kept this to themselves.

Aside from stock splits, I have also done well with the covered call strategy as well. A great way to generate cash flow from your stocks. Rolling stocks have also made money for me. But caution, these you have to get in and out of very quickly. The section 29 tax credit stocks were also a great strategy when they were offering tax credits and pay butt killer dividends. Great for your IRA, but you have to be careful with these as well and any stock for that matter.

I would recommend Wade's newer books which have updated strategies for the times such as Wall Street Money Machine Vol. I, III, III, IV, V and VI and Wade's newest book Stock Market Money Machine. And of course I also recommend Wades real estate book Real Estate Money Machine.

If this book is so great whay all of the negative reviews? In my opinion, there are a couple of reasons:

1) Some people who know these strategies work are afraid that if
the masses find out, they will lose their effectiveness. In
other words, they want to make money and the heck with you.

2) Many of these people are Wade Cook imitators and in many
cases, former employees of Wade Cook.

3) Some are stock brokers who prefer that you pay them a comm
for their brilliant advice which has your portfolio bleeding
RED!

4) Discount brokers in particular don't like Wade Cook because
he recommends full service brokers and explains why a full
service broker can make you more money and actually cost you
less in the long term.

I was doing some independent research on WADE COOK. I had heard about him from a friend who is making some OBSCENE MONEY in the stock market with WADE COOK'S TECHNIQUES. So before I came here, I did a google on Wade and read all of the negative fluff against the man. Guess what else I found? Every supposedly negative complaint against WADE COOK was a website which also sold products similiar to what Mr. Cook sells. They were selling seminars and after bashing Wade Cook they conveniently sell you on the idea that if you want something that works, CLICK HERE and you'll get the information you need. Who is this guy trying to kid? Does he think we just fell off the tulip truck?

Two of the websites I checked had links to brokerage firms! HELLO!!!!

All of the negative complaints were listed as "anynomous" or R.K. or something else. In other words, they were creating their own negative stories against Wade Cook. Isn't it obvious what these clowns and flat out liars are trying to do? It sure is obvious to me.

Well I don't know about you, but they made me even more positive about Wade Cook and even more negative about them.

Not finish reading yet, but found typing error already, on page 30, put extreme as example twice.

Too much GPRS specific and lacking deep insight in GPRS deployment aspects

This book has a well structured flow and brings you up to speed quickly on GPRS. Easy to read, yet very informative.

This book would also make a great textbook, it helped me to come up to speed quickly. Great explanation of layers and interfaces. To the point, with plenty of supporting illustrations.

Excellent book! Written in easy to understand language but also provides the detail needed to help in understanding this technology. As with all the books written by Mr. Bates, this is a qualty piece of material.

This book "could" have been a great book had Mr. Bates proofread it once before publishing it. Having read GSM and GPRS papers before reading this book, I have to say that this book is replete with technical snafus [a case in point for those who suspect is on pg. 30 third paragraph of the Introduction to GSM chapter "paging message sent over PAGCH"] Now anyone with half a brain knows that
1. PAGCH is a GPRS logical channel NOT GSM.
2. It is an Access Grant channel NOT a paging channel which in case of GSM is PCH and PPCH in GPRS.

Now someone new to GPRS would be confused as hell after reading this [I admit I was confused for a couple of minutes too :-), since I am not supposed to be the expert but Mr. Bates was]

Structure wise the book is okay but needs a stringent review of the rambling grammer and the blatant mistakes. IMO its not worth forking 60 bucks. If Mr. Bates is reading this, I adjure you sir to take some time off from your speaking tours and correct the mistakes in this book.

Am giving it two stars for good layout. Taking away three stars for incorrect content.

I am currently a teaching assistant for a class which uses this textbook. Comparatively, this is probably one of the better introductory textbooks for students who are not necessarily musically inclined, such as the class I work with. There is not a great deal of technical music jargon and it provides some decent contextualizations. However, some chapters are lacking in information and can be quite a dull read for students, such as the chapter on Japanese music. And at times authors give too much in the way of personal "fieldwork" anecdotes instead of covering other areas or possible issues. The third edition came out not too recently, but from what I can tell, contains almost the exact same information as the second.

I first came across this book when still a student taking an introductory course in asian music cultures. It was and is still is a great read especially for students who are non-musicology majors and have a tendency to get lsot in more technical books. The language, style, presentation and discussion is simple and interestingly handled. Not too scholarly as to be overwhelming. Great background on the socio-cultural context of the music.

This book presents a series of articles on music and the role of music in a variety of cultures around the globe. The articles each begin with a description of a musical event or concert in a culture, then go on to give more details about characteristics of a wide range of musical styles in that culture. The featured description in each chapter is usually some sort of traditional or classical style for that culture, and popular music in the culture is treated briefly. I found a few of the musical terms hard to understand, never having studied musical theory myself. Perhaps some of these terms would have become more clear through listening to the oft-mentioned accompanying CD, which I unfortunately don't have. There is a glossary in the back of the book, but its definitions are not sufficient to make meanings clear to someone without a thorough grounding in world music. In a few places, the proofreader missed some details, as for example, p. 46 the map of the Middle East shows UAR where the UAE is supposed to be! In addition to the use of technical terms without explanations, the lack of an overall big picture of world music makes this book more of a resource to dip into for background readings than a systematic introduction to the subject. It would work well as readings for a course, but is not ideal for self-study.

There is nothing new in this book. It is basically a retelling of ancient information. It almost seems as if the author used textbooks from the 1960s for his/her research.

I would not recommend this book to anyone ... no way ... no how!

I found the book offered excellent techniques for giving criticism in a light which provides others a roadmap for success. When offered criticism, I now use it as a tool to sharpen my skills and better myself. I have learned not to take it personally.

I very much enjoyed the official criticism manual. The book is well written and offers practical advice that I can use in the workplace. This practical desktop reference provides managers and team players with proven techniques and strategies for creating an environment where open communications prevail.

I consider myself very fortunate to have read this book..As a member of KOMD(Korea Orient Medicine Doctor)I read and learned many books related with acupuncture skills. But this book is the best . This book presents very elegant patterns of treatment based upon a profound ancient text combined with decades of clinical expertise, reflection and refinement. The nature of facial rejubanating acupuncture and the treatments discussed is such that it may take effect within few days..I was endebted to this author Paul Adkins for sharing that acu-skills and enriching proud tradition...

I was so disappointed in this book! It is the most poorly written book I have ever read, which turned me off from the beginning. It doesn't give the reader confidence in the practitioner if he is unable to clearly express his ideas. Of its short 44 pages of information- not including bibliography and so on- 12 pages(more than a quarter of the book!) were focused on anesthesia acupuncture. While that's interesting in its own right, I didn't buy this book to learn about anesthetic properties of acupuncture. Of the less than 20 pages dedicated to the actual practice of facial acupuncture, the information was fairly useful. But I was so irritated with the content and writing by then that I barely cared how good Dr. Adkins' information was. I sadly found this book a waste of money.

Very simple, useful, and well-dieted book!!
To learn the facial enhancement acupuncture, read this book at least three
times.

This book makes an important contribution toward dispelling the media-driven myths, and revealing the scientific truth about androstenedione. In an easy-to-read format, with research-based evidence, it supplies practical information on the use of this testosterone precursor, including its health benefits for both men and women. It also warns, responsibly, against its use by young people, for whom it will not only not have the desired effects, but can be damaging. The public deserves to know the facts, and this book does the job.

This book is trying to state actual facts about androstenedione and the way it works, its potential benefits and risks. However, I recommend not using this book as the only source of information. I consider this book a very good summary, for more details seek other sources.

As a bodybuilder who is very much informed about pro-hormones and other supplements, I have to mention that androstendione has fallen into disfavor.

The hype about the product has proved to be just that -- hype.
The supplement has largely been replaced by androdiol -- a more potent and more effective substance, and norandrodiol. The better pro-hormone products contain a combination of both "diols."

Newer products are emerging from supplement makers: topical andro and norandro sprays, and 1-AD, among others.

Unfortunately, information on this subject seems to get outdated quickly, and we may eventually learn that even these newer products are not as good as their promoters say they are.

Here's an example from page 163. Under the subhead "Extension dialing indicator" we learn that "When the telephone is off the hook, there is a dc voltage across the ring and tip lines. This voltage has a nominal value of 50V." Of course he meant to say ON hook. Minor glitch. It gets worse. If the author had actually built the dialing indicator described on the same page he would have discovered that resistor R1 must be much smaller than the 1 MEG he calls for (about 10K works)and the circuit operates exactly opposite from the way he describes. The LED glows while the phone is ON hook, not off hook. Minor glitch. It gets worse. Amazon's book description leads in with "want to keep the kids from dialing 900 numbers while you're away?" If you do, you best look elsewhere; nothing in this book describes any type of call restrictor. Publisher's blurb on the book evidently came out before the author delivered the ms. That happens when a book is bashed out to meet a contract schedule. This book has all the earmarks of such a bashout. But give'em a star for the "Telephone line tester" and one for the "test signal source." Have not yet built them, but at least they look plausible. Hey, even a rotten egg has some uses. This book is a disappointment, but it's not entirely worthless. Glad to have it.

I found this book an excellent introduction to the way telephones work. It is simple enough that someone without much exposure to electronics can acheive a good understanding of how telephones work. The projects are well documented, and should be easy and fun to build, although a few of the diagrams are over-simplified to the point of being unclear
