This book was very, very well written! Tanner has taken all of his readers on a rollercoaster ride through the life of a young elven child named Ky. Unlike most books where the heroes have no flaws, Ky is young and has much to learn. He is a lovable character, a perfect base for a story like this.

Excellent work!

I just finished reading the Shadow of the Ghost. I have never read a book that kept me wanting to return to it until it was done. I loved the way it was written and of course - Ky. I have come to love the little guy.

I know that I will find myself picking up the book and re-reading parts of it from time to time.

You did a great job creating Ky, and I am sure that it will be read by many, many readers over the years.

An astounding adventure! Easy to read, yet full of substance "Shadow of the Ghost" tells a tale urging readers to see the influence of friendships, loyalty, justice, and most importantly - family. Set in a world not too different from our own, it is easy to be swept up in the magic and warmth of a young elf searching for family while bound to the constraints of the chaos around him that is not his own. "Shadow of the Ghost" is a tale wonderfully told for a decent price. If you have any hesitation in purchasing...buy it! The story is well-worth the investment.

My understanding of "fantasy" novels was that they were detached from the reality of a world in which I live, and so, I had avoided them. This book showed me how wrong I have been. Cast in other worlds and places, "Shadow of the Ghost" constructs an intreaguing plot, and a series of fascinating adventures while skillfully developing characters whom one comes to think of as one's friends. The emotional content and the true to life emotional and intellectual dilemas are reflective of the human (as well as elven) world. I recommend the book without reservation.

I love Jane Yolen, but wondered how she was going to pull off an alphabet book. After all, we're just talking about the ABCs, right?

In (...)Elfabet(...), Yolen imagines all sorts of elves working their way through the alphabet. Each elf has its own poem, describing the action on the page alliteratively. Lovingly illustrated by Lauren Mills, children can look through the pictures to find other words on the page that begin with the chosen letter. Our hands-down favorite is L-(...)the Lazy Lolipop Elf.

This book has helped my daughter with her alphabet, as well as her puzzle-solving skills, and it's funny to boot.

The art work is charming, and the the elves multcultural.

I bought the book for the art work first. Then I found that trying to name all the things very stimulating for adults as well as children. Each person in my family took turns with a page and tried to guess what all the items were according to the letter of the page. The short sentences are fun, when you try to say them fast. We made a game of that too. We really enjoyed this book a great deal.

I would like to say that the CD on this book is exceptional. Especially the young woman who sings the role of Elphina-- what a voice! She has quite a future ahead of her.

This is a book about a little girl who shows everyone that she can do anything the boys can do if they just give her a chance! It's a great story for little ones at Christmas time and all year through. My 3 year old daughter loves this book and the music that comes with it is a special treat! The author has a way of rhyming the words so they keep a 3 year olds attention. Highly recommend this one!

I will not review this book because I am 37 years old. But I will describe my six year old daughters response to it...FABULOUS...She asked to be read this book at least twice a week until she learned to read. After that she read it herself. The book teaches that girls (and women) can achieve what they set out to do even in a male dominated society. It is inspirational and beautifully illustrated. The included CD has songs that my daughter loved to hear over and over again but did not grate on my nerves like Barney.

I strongly recommend this book to all who have children.

One does not have to be familiar with the Adirondacks to feel what life might be like there. This book will transport you to these forests, to another dimension, to another world, to a land of mystery and action.

If you want to know if elves exist, what they do, how they think, how they interact with people, you will discover these answers as you encounter The Elves of Loch Fada.

This book was written for youong people, and I am not in that age group, but this adventure took my imigination and mind there again. Even after finishing the book, my mind will sometimes wander back to that wonderful fantasy world.

Though I am an avid reader of suspense, I am glad that this book caught my attention. An excellent read for young readers and for the young at heart. Yes, I will read the sequel.

This book is a transcension of native folk lore of the Adirondak Mountains, with classic well developed fantasy. Perfectly written for all ages, it will keep hardcore fantasy fans tunring page after page, while also riviting those with a local knowledge of the region. There is truly something for everyone here. I recommend it to anyone who is a fantasy fan, a reader of lore, or has ties to the Adirondak mountains.

This book is simply an amazing mix of ancient folklore, modern locale and flavors, and a deep fantasy mix that any avid fantasy fan will immediately identify to. Young and old will find elements to keep the mind flying along on this trip to another place. This novel will strike Adirondak buffs with locations they recognize and have seen, giving them new insight into these places, a perspective only given in local lore long since past. Fantasy fans will find the novel to contain all they are used to, but presented in a way which brings new twists to ancient epic battles of good versus evil.
I highly recommend this book to any and all readers with an Adirondak backround, an interest in ancient lore, and all fantasy fans of any age. Well Done.

Bought the book and had to comment. If any reader wants to escape into a world of imaginative intrigue, then this book is for you. The interaction between the characters is entertaining, and its a book I can recommend to my children without worrying about bad content. Ms. Gifford recently finished the second in the series; the author of this genre certainly has a talent worthy of her readers.

I bought this book last year 2006 for my then-6-year-old son. There is so much to read (and so much humor!) on every page - it's so entertaining. I love it because it presents the mystery of Santa in a fanciful, rather wacky way - we both get lots of laughs and it's crazy ideas always provoke a few questions along the way. This book has become a new Christmas tradition in our house and has been a party-gift for a few friends as well. Spread the cheer!

I bought this book for my 6-year-old son who has many questions about Santa. If he ever get a hold of the book I am sure he will enjoy it. The last two evenings my 10-year-old daughter and I have read this book together and we enjoyed everything about it. While it is a typical quick read for a picture book, we spent a long time study the illustrations which we thought were very funny. I found myself enjoying this book so much I forgot for a few minutes that it was fiction. Definitely worth buying and quite a cute book for a gift.

This is the last of the great Warp legacy. The new editions are fine, but this one was the most gripping and the last full edition of Wendy's art. Book 8 hs got to be the most emotional of all the series and to get that kind of emotional pull in a graphic novel is outstanding. If you can, please get ahold of the color editon. Fantastic!

WOW, what a book. It is fun, cute, curious and from the mouth of babes. Those young leprechauns and wise old gnomes sure know their stuff. They have very humbling wisdom. It is just what I was looking for. Forever it seems. There are several ways to see these little spirits and beseech them for help in finding that perfect person (Yaaa!) and finally achieving wellness in life. It's great to know we don't have to be ill or depressed and can put the magic back into our lives. I had no idea in how many ways this could be true. We have known this in our metaphysical circles, we all have deep down, but somehow have lost the teachings. The book, delivers on "Coast to Coast's" radio special's far-reaching promises; we can all learn to see them and invite them in. It has the techniques and methods that work for the everyday person. Dr. Christian von Lahr is the master who can channel the whimsical ones spot-on. He has a mind like a multi-dimensional tape recorder. I love hearing him and reading how we can connect with the fairies. The Leprechauns are enchanting. We all have gnomes, who knew?. And the book proves it, how cool. I didn't expect to get insight on how to use his techniques, too. Great stuff. This is the perfect all-around book, sometimes serious, sometimes just plain fun, but always to the point. Coauthor, Chris Valentine is the one that can bring out that warm character, I think, in each of the little spirits of the woods, water, and mountains. That's a gift. It's great to feel normal about these sensations many of us have when in nature, I don't have to feel strange anymore. Every book needs this charm. What a great package of insight and castles in the sky. The bottom line, I still think, is can it deliver? Yes. This book touches your heart in ways you would never have expected. It uses the nature spirits' own charm to reach that Disney kid inside of us as you learn the wisdom of other worlds, and bring them into straight-on view to both see and commune with Gnomes and Elves, fanciful fairies and magical leprechauns. It's about time we learned how to manifest a new world with "the Magic of Gnomes and Leprechauns. PS: Mushrooms are part of the secret, haa haa. ***** FIVE STARS *****

Every now and then there comes along an author, two in this case, who can actually deliver on their promises to the New Age community. This is yet another excellent work by Christopher Valentine, and his main channel Dr. Christian von Lahr. Excellent because it does with the title implies. This book actually teaches you how to see the gnomes, and those leprechauns too. I also saw elves.

They augment their teaching with some sound understanding of why nature spirits (oops, Nature People) are out there, where they can be seen, how to set up areas in your homes and gardens to welcome them. Most importantly, they share exactly how communication works. This fundamental has been missing from all other materials. They have taken the effort to put together all the necessary facts so we can enjoy a genuine experience, by going directly to the source. Finally, the New Age circuit has some superpower instructors, as well as authors; those that practice their craft every day. They have solicited the most amazing insight from all classes of nature inhabitants, things that will knock your stockings off.

For years I had wondered if this was a phenomena limited to just a few. These authors explain how everyone can enjoy this experience; there are but a couple of obstacles to overcome. You guessed it, it is all in the books. This is "How To" right from the gnomes and leprechauns themselves. It has to work.

It would be inconsiderate not to give exceptional credit to the Nature People who provided this essential information. Christopher does so up front, wanting only to share the messages that the nature people have for all of us. And I am glad he does so. I feel so endeared to these sweet litle kids, the nature people, who share the wisdom we have all been asking for. Finally, it's here. Get your copy. Get the series. Get on with your connection with Nature. I found out it was possible with this book, you will too. It is a no fail for everyone. If you want to connect with the little people, you will. It is actually they who are trying to reach out to us. We only have to put forward a little bit of effort in just the right ways. This book has the right ways. All my friends got the book, and all are now believers. They're Real! Yea. I knew I wasn't crazy. Well, alright, I didn't know I wasn't crazy, but now I DO know, everyone can see Nature People.

The Vixen Princess is delightful read that will draw readers into the story from the first page with Lady Nesta's declaration of fighting alongside Arthur and his men. Readers will laugh aloud at some of the antics of the ghost of Gwydion and Mabon's reactions. Ms. Amiri does a superb job developing the storyline and characters while adding a few moments of humor. The battle scenes are not gory but will leave readers chanting for King Arthur and his people. Lady Nesta's character although very headstrong is not overly so but just enough to prove women can endure and survive battle. Mabon is not a typical historical hero who scoffs at a woman's attempt to fight but instead embraces Nesta's ability to honor her late husband. Fans of historical romance will not want to miss The Vixen Princess for it is well deserving of its Recommended Read status!" Reviewed by JoAnn at Fallen Angel Reviews, 5 ANGELS

Nesta, has already had her one true love. They don't happen twice in a lifetime. She has learned to deal with the loss of her beloved Gwydion. Now she is looking toward the future and all it holds. Taking up her late husband's sword she decides to go to battle with King Arthur.

Mabon has never been in love. He has always been King Arthur's champion, with all that has entailed. It has left no time for love or family life. But when he looks at Nesta he wonders if he might not have a chance for personal happiness after all.

They need to deal with her family helping, and hindering them. As well they will fight the Saxons by King Arthur's side. If they can overcome these they might just have a chance at a future together.

The Vixen Princess was a book I enjoyed reading. Ms. Amiri weaves a compelling and intriguing tale of two people who don't realize they are truly meant to be together. The fight scenes were drawn to just the right degree to play a part in the story, yet not overwhelm it and detract from the love story itself. The interfering family was just the right touch of humor to keep The Vixen Princess interesting.

Nesta, the Princess of Tauton, is still mourning the loss of her husband Gwydion, who died two years before. She is tired of the suitors that are pursuing her. None can hold a candle to Gwydion. Nesta feels that the best way to purge herself of her grief is to fight alongside a young King Arthur in his battles against the Saxons. When he comes to visit, she decides to let him know her wishes. At this time, King Arthur is still a teen, but his first in command is Mabon, who has plenty of worldliness and experience. Mabon has no desire for a relationship with any woman. He also considers Nesta to be too high born for him

In spite of themselves, Nesta and Mabon are instantly drawn to each other. Mabon is a good man, but not a romantic sort. He needs help in wooing Nesta. He gets the help he needs in the form of the ghost of Gwydion. Mabon is not too thrilled to be haunted by a ghost. Gwydion wants Nesta happy so that she can let go of her grief and move on with her life. He thinks that Mabon will be perfect for her. While Mabon gets the help that he needs, he also gets interference from Gwydion that he does not need, especially when he tries to seduce Nesta. Gwydion wants them married first!

I loved this tale. It is by far one of the best Celtic historical romances that I have ever read. The author, Cornelia Amiri, brings this time period to life. She makes the setting come alive and seem real. The humorous elements that she adds to the story further enrich it and make it one book that is very hard to put down. If you belong to a woman's readers group, you must have "The Vixen Princess" on your list! I look forward to reading other books written by Ms. Amiri.
