Still Great Value for Money.

This book was first published in 1974 and yet it still contain items of significant interest for today's modern scuba diver. Jacques Cousteau will forever remain the world's greatest diving pioneer and it is through these books that the modern diver is able to add something to their own knowledge of the sport of scuba diving - a "something" that is not found in any "how to learn to dive" book.

In this particular book, we share the Cousteau team's encounters with three great creatures of the sea - the Sea Lion, Elephant Seal and Walrus, in several of their worldly habitats. If you have ever wondered what it would be like to dive in amongst that local colony of Seals, this book will point the way.

As with all the books in this series, it is well written and soon becomes a good read. There will come a time, of course, when it is no longer available and those divers who have not yet added it to their bookshelf will then be found spending many fruitless hours searching for a copy.

Amusing and Fun Comparison of People and Animals

Ehrlich and Bolam have done it again with another fun book in their "Early Experiences" series. In this book, they explore how animals get clean, comparing and contrasting it with how humans get clean. Readers will learn that while animals may not exactly take showers or baths, they have helpers like humans, among other similarities.

The animals are cute and funny, and readers will get a kick out of seeing various animals in bathtubs or showers. The text is simple and good for read aloud, or for early readers. Any kid that likes animals is sure to enjoy this book.

Not too much religion

Elizabeth Rodger has done a wonderful job of telling the story of Noah's ark without bringing in too much religion. The book doesn't preach, it tells the story for a child to hear and be entertained by. I found the book to be written very well with lovely pictures. I wouldn't recommend this book for anyone with a child or grandchild... I WOULD BUY IT FOR THEM!

How to Reclaim Your Life
Helpful Votes: 1 out of 1 total.
Review Date: 2008-05-24
The field of Energy Psychology is multi-faceted, with most of the approaches addressing meridians, chakras, biofields, etc. But what's the source of the energy that is being balanced, corrected, etc.? John mace's book highlights the REAL YOU, which is the source of the energy. You are energy at the very core of your being. In John's parlance, we are Human Energy Units, and as such we are healthy and loving. The problem arises with negative identities, which are the result of decisions made in a moment of upset. These are core beliefs and more. For example, in an upset the individual might decide that he or she is "not good enough" or "evil" or "a failure" etc. Then you get stuck with the identity that feeds off you in a similar way that a virus parasitically thrives. But the identity has no life of its own independent of YOU, and that is why it can be easily dis-created so that you reclaim your life. The Mace Method helps to accomplish this thoroughly and elegantly! --Fred P. Gallo, PhD, author of "Energy Psychology: Explorations at the Interface of Energy, Cognition, Behavior, and Health, Second Edition (Innovations in Psychology)" and "Energy Tapping for Trauma: Rapid Relief from Post-Traumatic Stress Using Energy Psychology"

And I loved the title "Eating the Elephant" - so fitting! I highly recommend this for any kind of writer, published or not published.

This book is my all time favorite story book. My mother read it to me over and over as a child and I just love it! The two main characters are Eddie Elephant and his mother.

Eddie goes looking for other baby elephants to play with. The book is hard to find, but I finally found a copy right here on Amazon. Is anyone aware of any other books by P.X. Yost?

My 16 month old loves this book! We have been reading it to him as a bedtime story for a few months now and he looks forward to it every time. I added a hand signal (finger to lips) to the last page where the zebra goes to sleep and now he mimics the signal when we get to the last page. The length is just right to maintain his interest. He makes me read it to him about 3x in a row every night.

Cute "Little" Baby

Review Date: 2004-08-18
Nicely designed and written look at a baby Asian elephant named Noorie. Illustrations are photos of Noorie in a simple, painted background. The text is large and each two page spread has about two to four sentences. For example, "Look at Noorie's long trunk. She uses it to drink. Noorie sucks water into her trunk. Then she squirts the water into her mouth." There is an additional paragraph called "More about Elephants" at the back of the book. Karen Woodworth-Roman, Children's Science Book Review
