This theme of this book is positive thinking, although I would say that its closer to Optimal thinking, as Mr.Thompson definetely advocates looking realistically at your goals. For example: what it takes to get there, and the good and bad points of acheiving it!
Its full of everyday practical examples, including examples from the author's own life!
The book is written in a formula style,
and delves a little into psychology and critical thinking, but in a down to earth, easy to read way!

The Author Geoff Thompson, has had a very colourful life from humble beginnings, to working as a doorman at one of England's most violent nightclubs (check out Watch My Back, his bestselling autobiography), becoming a renknowned martial artist internationally, and of course fulfilling his dream as becoming a bestselling author.
I especially like the writing style, but there's nothing I can write here to do it justice!! Its very electric, its moving, you probably won't be able to put the book down once you start reading it!
Its not preachy, it does not bash any other opinion, in fact, Mr.Thompson advocates reading other books on the topic. It has a zen atmosphere to it, and this will no doubt empower you to read the whole thing in one sitting!!
CHECK IT OUT!!!

I randomly found this on my coffee table as a result of my roommate's mother. It is seriously one of the coolest books I've come across in months. Bad humor is the absolute best!

When they say that it's the world's worst, it is! But don't let that discourage you! This was the funniest book I've read! While it has elephants, there are a few blurbs about Tarzan, Jane and a couple of grapes. This book totally cracked me up!

I am a PreSchool teacher, and my children love this story. It is definately meant to be read out loud. It has alot of repetition, and many of the kids can "read" it on their own after hearing it just a few times. This is one of those books that will get worn and tattered in a classroom because it get's looked at every day by several of the students!

My grand children absolutely loved this book. It's design is simple and humble, but the story is enthusiastic and magnetic. It is fun to read, and the kids love to hear it over and over again. Let's get another one out soon Buzzy!!!

Such entertaining short stories for individuals of all ages! Literally there is something for everyone; kids, young people, and those just young at heart. Some of these stories are fanciful - some are historical - some are appropriate as "bedtime" stories - and some are very thought provoking - either way we enjoyed every single one. Waiting for book two.....

Very readable with a definite spiritual overtone....which I appreciate.
The only criticism I have is that it is too short. It leaves me wanting
to hear more of the stories. Certainly interesting to glean some of
an individual's history and life experiences.

"The Elephant in the Playroom" is a collection of very personal accounts from parents of children with a variety of special needs. In their words, you will recognize your own raw emotions. There is something cathartic in empathizing with these remarkable stories.

In 1998, I read Earnest Hemingway's short story "Hills Like White Elephants" and since then, I have devoured as many manuscripts pertaining to Elephants as possible. In my reading about Elephants, I have had the extraordinary pleasure of discovering Bijou Le Tord's Elephant Moon. The soft and delicate illustrations of such powerful animals attracted and charmed me from the start. I liked the flow from the page of well researched facts to the majestic journey through the hills of East Africa. There was no deception on Le Tord's part. Even though she was writing for young children, she did not attempt to make her elephants Sunday tea drinkers. She keeps the elephants the majestic and powerful creatures that they are. It is books such as Elephant Moon that will teach children to appreciate and embrace the beauty of endangered animals.

I'm just finishing this well written book. It's going on my recommended list of must reads. Insightful, entertaining, educational look at corporate biz that also translates into look at society.

I now look at businesses as elephants or leopards. The leopards are the ones I admire & I find to be effective in today's Web2.0 society.
