I read the english translation of the above noted book.

After reading this book I was speechless.

I now see the importance that 'every word that is written' in any book is very critical and never to be over looked.

This is an excellent book, comparing the Holy Scriptures (Old Testament, New Testament and Quran) during Hebrews in Egypt (Hebrew people, Moses and Pharohs time) with secular knowledge/facts.

Authenticity of the facts presented is reliable because the author has given all the required quotations.

Anyone who hasn't read these stories by the great modern humanist, LeClezio, is missing too much.

I'm glad this work isn't in translation. The rhythms of the language, the imagery, the ideas, all interweave in superb artistry.

It's worth learning French to read this collection.

This is a great reference for coins and tokens ever issued for French colonies. It covers circulating coins as well as trial strikes. Wonderful illustrations. Market prices. Brief history.
It would be even more helpful if I could read French :))

Marcel Conche's splendid book is a collection of articles concerning the no less splendid Montaigne. Each essay or article has a clear theme - among which you will find: Pyrrhonism, death, pleasure, etc. All of which are superbly written, and tremendously help to outline the thought of Montaigne and its whereabouts.

I greatly enjoyed this book, and I recommend it to anyone interested in studying Montaigne.

I have first read this book several years ago; I have now came back to it and my first impressions have just been reasserted: it is a "must" reading for anyone interested in Durkheim's work. The reason is simple. This is one of Durkheim's early works, published in the same year as the monumental "Division of Labour in Society". However, contrary to the latter monograph, Durkheim here addresses the precursors of nineteenth-century sociology, trying to identify the antecedents of modern social sciences. In a word, if you want to fully understand Durkheim's influences and aims the careful reading of this early book is unavoidable.

Book very interssant.

This book is an inspiring story of a woman's journey to climb the highest peak in the world. It's funny in parts and heart wrenching in others. The writing is full of metaphor and life lessons. Not your typical mountaineering book.

This book is my favorite book. I remember the first time that I read it. I would have to get up from my desk, walk around my apartment, and digest what I was reading. It was so exciting.

Nicolson brings together Theology, History of Science and Geology, and Aesthetics in such a beautiful way. She describes what was an important change in western thinking about nature that occured at the end of the seventeenth century.

Ignore, William Cranon's introduction that ties Nicolson's work to today's ecocriticism. But find and read other works that study nature and culture; Clarance Glacken's Traces on the Rhodian Shore (1967), Arthur O. Lovejoy's The Great Chain of Being (1936), and Leo Marx's The Machine in the Garden (1964).

The book arrived in good time and the condition of the book was as new.

First rate book on a little known corner of history. While the Muslim conquest of Spain is fairly well known little is known of the Muslim colonies that existed in Northern Italy, Southern France and Switzerland. Partly due to the initial conquests of Spain, partly due to Muslims being shipwrecked and washed up in southern France for a sort period of time they resided in this part of Europe, settled, established Mosques and intermarried.

Sites have been discovered according to the author of a Mosque in southern France and grave with bodies facing Mecca in the traditional Islamic manner.

The book also covers the relations between the small colonies and al-Andalus (Islamic Spain) and the relations between al-Andalus and its Christian neighbours.

An excellent well written book. Just a pity about the publisher (my copy is in awful condition, pages starting to fall out etc)
